This is quite honestly my favorite place to eat. My boyfriend and I have been coming every Sunday for the past 2 years. The majority of the waitresses are fanominal, with the exception of Lisa who always manages to drop our silverware when we are put at one of her tables. The food is always excellent and they always fix whatever problems we have without hesitation. The only reason why they are not getting 5 stars from me is because I was recently diagnosed as being allergic to grains and everything on the menu comes with pancakes or toast. I tried subbing out fresh fruit with my omelette and they kept pushing gluten-free products at me (which i cant have because im allergic to the gluten substitute). They never explained to me why they werent able to sub out fruit for the pancakes. Its a very snobby complaint, but i stand by it as you cant get an omelette a la carte.

I had not been here in decades before a visit last week. Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Woods location. We were seated right away. Booth kind of small, but I am kind of large so OK. Blueberry pancakes, bacon, orange juice(fresh squeezed). Pancakes were delicious. Light, fluffy, blueberry goodness. I used the butter they had put on the plate, then started eating and forgot to apply syrup. Didnt need any. Incredible. The bacon. Thick cut. The kind Ill buy at the supermarket, but my wife never will. Perfect accompaniment. Juice was great. Nice experience. Our waitress(forgot her name sorry)was delightful, interacting with our infant daughter, very attentive. Ill be back. Its not "cheap" here, beware. But worth it.

I like this place, been coming here for years. Now I have a kid, and they treat him like one of their own. Very kid friendly, as a parent that goes a long way. Food is really good, the place is really clean, and the staff is pretty cool. Now if u show up on a Saturday or Sunday morning, expect a long line, I mean very long line. Thats cuz the food is so good, and the place is kinda small. Thats the only problem with the place, its kinda tight seating, small parking spaces for my big truck, and meters for parking except Sunday. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Order was as follows, blueberry pancakes, a side of bacon, a coffee, and a small orange juice. Food was very good, no complaints there, and the wait staff was pleasant. The reason I am giving a 1 star review is because of the price for the meal. My total came to 19 dollars and change which is beyond ridiculous for what was ordered. The side of bacon was 3 bacon strips and cost over 5 dollars. While the food was good I will never be going back to this restaurant. No matter how well you make food you should never charge someone 20 dollars for breakfast.

Where to start with the original pancake house. They have always been my favorite breakfast place since I was a young child and my parents would take me there. This is not a quiet little place, well unless you go at odd breakfast times. Usually it will be jam packed with people. Servers and busboys running around everywhere. The food makes up for the noise and the wait. I prefer the big apple myself, but every item on the menu will be enjoyable to just about everyone. They will continue to have me as a customer until they close or I die.

Great food but always crowded and thats why i only visit once or twice a year. The bacon pancakes are exceptional loaded with bacon inside and out. Speaking of bacon, if you want a side of bacon go ahead and splurge on the thick cut. Omelettes are huge and are more than filling for any appetite. The Dutch baby ous very popular and worth it; Oven baked with lemon, butter and powdered sugar adds a nice contrast of flavors thats addicting to your palette. My tip, sit down on first visit but order to go afterwards.

If you want a delicious homemade breakfast, Original Pancake House is unmatched. I love everything on the menu. Service is amazing and fast, although you typically will encounter a wait. All items are made with pure, fresh ingredients and pancakes, waffles and French toast are served with real maple syrup. You can order blueberry compote with fresh berries. If you appreciate the real thing, come here. You cant get out of here for less than $10 usually, but its well worth it.

We went there for diner around 8:15 pm the waiter we had was so grumpy her name is "Jen". Her facial expression appeared as if she hated us. It was a very uncomfortable moment. She kept muttering under her breath about how long of a work day she had, ect. I really dont like making bad reviews but she was very nasty and rushed us through the whole meal. Also, I saw her being mean with the busboy. She seems racist! What a terrible and mean person!

I love love love this place! Parking is abundant; the customer service is great; the pancakes are the absolute best, better than all other breakfast spots; the bacon is the thickest Ive gotten from anywhere, including the grocery store and their orange juice is delicious. From all of what I just explaining, its kind of a given that they are extremely busy on weekend mornings. But its worth it!

Terrible service waited 45 minutes before our food was out. We got up and left just as the waitress was bringing our food out. Other people sat down after us and were finished eating. Than she had the nerve to sayI cant make food come out my ass. This is a busy place she said. She said what I ordered took longer to make cornbeef hash.We only came there because we were in the area. Bad mistake.

Friendly environment, mix of people, white, black, you name it.. seems family oriented. I ha breakfast and it was great. They have that real pancakes not the pancakes from Coney island. Not to mention they give you alot of food. Overall a good experience for my first time.. But if you go one a Sunday, youre going to have to wait in a line but the line moved pretty good that day.

Every dish is so delish. Fresh, authentic ingredients go into every carefully prepared item on their menu. (Try their house brand coffee with real cream!) Their regular, old school coffee is a hearty blast from the past. Be prepared to wait at peak times (check website). The line will go faster than you think and it will well worth your weight... I mean wait.

Pricey, but the (regular) breakfast items are great! They take some creative liberties and create some unusual versions standard items, like a baked (fluffy?) omelet. My friend ordered one and wasnt impressed. I, personally, have no idea why one would bake an omelet. The staff is great and the pancakes are the best I have ever had a-n-y-w-h-e-r-e !

The pancakes are good. Service is super slow. They are incredibly uppity; like theyre doing you a favor making crepes. Oh, its also expensive. It may look like its twice as much money but when you factor the small portions might as well just go to a cloth napkin place. Just go to coney.
