This place recently did a major overhaul of their space. They now have a license to serve booze which is nice but they just dont have the right ideas. First off the food is good, pretty darn good, but its not worth what they are charging. Some of their items are into the high $20 dollar range which for what you get seems ridiculous. A plate of pasta with a piece of chicken shouldnt run anywhere near $29 dollars but at this place it does. The ambiance in this place is strange. They used to be a lunch type joint in the basement but have now moved upstairs. There is no real solid entrance area in which to be seated (they have 2 entrances). The decor is boring and lacks any inspiration, seems like any old dining hall. If they changed their look it would be a lot more refreshing. But right now this place is sterile and dry. They now can serve beer wine and cocktails but they lack a truly nice bar area as a mesh spot. The other places on the hill do this much better. The bar is limited and does not have nearly the same draw as the other restaurants in the area. Something I think they should have put a lot more focus into when considering the new space. Overall the place is decent, its clean and the servers are nice. But they really missed a great chance to become a regular dining choice in Grosse Pointe. The lack of quality decor and seemingly random pricing makes this place a drab in an area known for top notch dining. Different planning might have made this place a regular, but overpricing and other factors just limit it to average.

Consistently GREAT food! I have never had a mediocre meal here. They are kind enough to let my children order off menu as its a bit fussy for their tastes (and not cheap), and even the burger or plate of pasta is so good my kids will tell me its the best they ever had. It is a family owned and operated business, the chefs wife seems to manage the place and can be a tiny bit cranky when stressed but really most days she is just lovely, their son is often there and very helpful and we have nothing but wonderful experiences with the other wait staff. They shoot for perfection but sometimes that means you have to wait a bit for your food or service. They have a loyal group of employees but if they get busy it may seem understaffed and you may have to wait for a few minutes but that is the only way they can run a small business as they cant hire an excess of employees. I have never actually experienced an oppressive wait for service myself, but we are pretty happy to sip a cocktail and chat waiting for our food, and also dont hesitate to let them know if for some reason we are feeling ignored and they are always friendly and accammodating. Honestly this is the BEST food in the Pointes, you cant go wrong with anything here, even the bread is to die for.

Been there many times over many years and have never been disappointed. Their breakfast menu is the best we have ever found anywhere we have traveled. The dinner menu is innovative and only the freshest and best quality ingredients are used. Jumps is by far a five star restaurant and we are glad to have it nearby.

I ordered baked French Toast with almonds and a side of fruit. The fruit was the only good thing on the plate. The French toast was black and burned on the bottom. I found one pecan in the whole thing. We waited 45 min. after our order was placed. Never again.

Jumps use to be so good. Had not been there in a long time and was very disappointed. The waitress was not nice and very condescending when I asked a question. Neither of us liked our meal. Will not be going back.

Food is marginal at best. I would expect more for the price. I had a breakfast burrito, came with a side of brown quacamole and old tomatoes. Brought friends in from out of town to try. Embarrassing to say the least!

Very pleasant setting, small, cozy. Service was excellent. Good choices and prices on luncheon menu. Ordered open-face short rib on English muffin (special) and meat was dry. Would give another try.

Never had a poor meal at Jumps. Try the salmon! This restaurant is clean, well staffed and a great place to congregate with friends over a great meal. Use the call-ahead seating!

Jumps has the best food on the east side. The hollandaise is always great; hard choice between sweet or savory on their breakfast brunch. Both are excellent.
