This is one of my familys favorite restaurants, we come at least once a month. My favorite dish is the lamb lollipop chops and my wifes is the korean steak. We especially like to see what the weekend specials are, the chef always has amazing and unique ideas. Recently we had a charcuterie plate that was incredible, I was very surprised to see this on a menu around here but I would come back just for the pork pate. The cocktails are also quite excellent and as of the past few months the beer selection has been spectacular, being a huge beer lover this is a very big thing for me. Its been fun for me to come in and see a few new beers every time. The servers dont always seem to know much about whats on tap, but the manager is always more than happy to come and explain each one thoroughly as well as bits of trivia about each brewery. The only complaint I have about the place is that the service is hit or miss. One night youll have a server that is attentive, happy, and helpful but the next time you might get one that seems to not care at all about you or their job. That unfortunately seems to be the case with all restaurant in this area so I dont really hold this against them! If you havent been to 501 you really do need to give it a try its a hidden gem. On a side note I saw a review on here saying they were not allowed to bring their kids in, I have to wonder if they are talking about the right restaurant. I have seen children in there several times and I believe they even have a small kids menu.

Went with a friend who said they had a great bloody mary bar. It was ok...which unfortunately was the best part of the experience. I ordered a grilled chicken wrap that was almost $10. To my surprise the chicken was cold. I was expecting something hot and fresh...like "grilled" chicken, not something cooked a couple days before and stored in the fridge. And for $10 I expected something to come with it...fries, onion rings, coleslaw...something! But nope, just an expensive cold wrap that I threw out. I didnt care much for the atmosphere either. You sit pretty close to the other tables and its extremely quiet; you can hear everyones conversations. And the staff wouldnt quit staring at us. Extremely uncomfortable. I wont be back.

We went to the 501 Bar with my family for dinner. Right away I saw a sign outside that says "no kids" I walked in and talked to a waitress and asked if they really didnt allow kids. She said Sorry we dont". I said "Well we will just do a carry out order then because my daughter is in the car". She called the manager over and asked about carry out and explained our situation. The manager came up to me shaking his head and said "NO KIDS, NO CARRY OUT"! I was disgusted with the treatment and walked out. Never would I recommend this place to anyone ever if thats the way they treat you as soon as you walk in the door, then they surely will never get my business!

My family of 4, came in this evening for dinner. We sat at our table for 20 minutes without ever being acknowledged by the serving staff of 2 servers. They walked right past our table, within inches of us without acknowledging we were seated. None of the servers even look at us. It was very sureal. However the servers acknowledged and served other customers who came in after us! We got up, walked out, and went across the street to Blackstones as first time customers to eat, where we were immediately and properly attended to. Needless to say, we will NOT be returning to 501 Bar and Grill, as there many great dining options in downtown Flint.

On Tuesday the 23rd 3 of my girlfriends & myself ventured downtown after golf. We talked about going to 501.... arrived and it wasnt to busy but customers were there which was good to see. We sat ourselves & got our own menus.. 2 of the ladies went by the bartender & waitress to use the restroom. But, 25 mins in not 1 person acknowledged us???? The waitress was cleaning a table close to us didnt say a word but kept doing busy work.. Needless to say we got up and went the Torch... Where 1 waitress handled her tables & our food was delish!!!! Dont think Ill venture to 501 again...

Ordered the Burrata Caprese and the Mushroom and Spinach Risotto w/Salmon and found myself humming out loud after every bite because it was that delicious! My server, Marquita(sp.), was very friendly and personable, and accommodated me with the most perfectly made Sweet Tea that Im not sure was on the menu or not. The service was great and so was the food. The only reason I didnt give them 5 stars is that I did come across a small fish bone in my Risotto, but it was no big deal, and I didnt bother to tell my server because it was over-shadowed by my overall positive experience!!

If I could give 10 stars I would! We had a graduation party here on April 30th for my wife and everything was great! The food was excellent, the wait staff was very accommodating and friendly, and everything was prepared and ready to eat as soon as we got there! I even gave the staff the rest of our cupcakes! =) They have new regulars with us and I am glad we chose 501 Bar and Grill to celebrate!

Its a rather nice bistro type of restaurant that Ive been to a lot. The portions on many dishes are small, but will taste good. I personally like their seafood bisque a lot. There are a couple of TVs that will have a sports game on if theres one playing. If its a Michigan game, itll definitely be on. Recently, theyve had a soul food buffet on Sundays. Not sure how long they plan to do this.

The staff is always delightful and the food is always excellent! Some of my favourite dishes are the Fish taco and the Jalapeno burger! Cant go wrong with these, and the amount of some dishes served is enough for me to eat in 2 sittings! Im trying to expand my ordering spectrum, and so far everything Ive ordered has been delicious!

We dined here with family after a day at Huckleberry Railroad. There were 19 in our group. You couldnt have asked for a more attentive waitress than Paige. She anticipated our every need. The dining area was comfortable with Italy charm. The food was not the best. 3 of us had Chicken Piccata, the chicken was tough and sauce was...

“Excellent Visit” We decided to try this place for an early Sunday dinner to celebrate our sons birthday. He lives in Ann Arbor and it was about equal distance for us to drive from mid-michigan. We had stopped here a few years ago and had not gone back since. At that time the menu and meals were average. This time we found...
