I only do carry-out here, so the Decor score is irrelevant,I would have preferred not to score it....its not bad, just lacks luster. Im reviewing because they have Udon Noodles (whole wheat)......that are hard to find in local Chinese Restaurants. Ive only patronized twice, yet each time the food was fresh, good and plentiful. If they would ONLY put Brown Rice on the menu, I would visit more often! As for SERVICE....Customer Service is as everyone has already cited: EXCELLENT! The proprietor is so personable and willing to "work with you" to get what you really want, as well as cook/modify your order to your liking, even if it means selling you a lesser priced item on the menu! RARE. Ill be back.

First of all, they took an extra 20 minutes cooking our food. I ordered the General Tso s chicken which looked like they dumped neon orange food coloring into, and tasted ...Just odd. It wasnt bad, definitely wasnt good, but was NOT what I ordered. Their eggrolls were greasy and had no flavor. The chicken fried rice, which cost $2.00 more, smelled like dog food. The one saving grace was the delicious container of steaming hot chicken noodle soup.... which had NO TASTE AT ALL.... And to top it off, within 20 mins of tasting everything, my husband and I now have the worst stomach pains. Will never stop here again even if our lives depended on it. All that food is now in the trash.

I tried this place out yesterday for the first time and it was really good! We went in to order carryout and just waited for it, and the woman at the front (unfortunately I didnt get her name) was SO helpful and nice. She made good recommendations and was overall very pleasant. Sometimes it seems hard to find people who are actually interested in your experience when you patronize their business, so this was a nice change. :) plus, the food was GREAT! They offer lunch portions all day, which was awesome - I got the orange chicken lunch portion which came with rice and an egg roll - delicious! Definitely worth checking out the next time youre in the mood for Chinese!

If you are a vegan or a vegetarian than this place is a must. They have delicious vegan chicken and vegan beef, which are respectfully different in texture and taste. They will make any dish they carry with these "meats" and also have dishes for vegetarian tastes. Imagine being able to get General Tao Chicken, Hunan special, garlic beef, kung pao, almond, orange, and sweet and sour chicken, all as a vegan dish. Also they carry vegan spring rolls and vegan "egg" rolls. I have never been to a restaurant like this anywhere.

not remarkable, and actually the beef noodle dish was nearly inedible. Just bad cut of beef, bad noodles (overboiled), hint of a strange aftertaste. Staff is nice, portions are not small as some reviews have said, but the food is gross so whats the point. Probably microwaved with less than fresh ingredients. Par for the course in metro detroit, I guess this is enough for a 4 star restaurant here but seriously people try some food from restaurants in chicago and then youll know what good food taste like.

This place is the best Chinese takeout place in Dearborn. My favorite thing to get there are the Sesame Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Sweet and Sour Chicken. They are cooked well and covered with sauce! The sauce is also not watered down and has a lot of flavor. The prices for a lunch are under $8 and come with rice and a egg roll. Thats a great price. The best thing though is they have HALAL chicken upon request. If you never tried this place, you should. This is our regular take out place.

I went to Dearborn, Detroit and looked for a Chinese restaurant in the surrounding area. Red Star Restaurant showed up in my google search. I was very glad that I found it. Food portion is great and price is very reasonable. That was the first time of having halal. lol. We ordered a few dishes and the cheque was cheap. If I lived in Dearborn, I would always go there for dinning or take-out.

Red Star has been under new ownership for the last 3-4 months and I love their food. Their shrimp is the best I have ever had. They offer a variety of different types of dishes to suit everyones taste such as halal ( all meats are halal), vegan, tofu, and traditional. They have hospitality and its genuine. I cant say enough kind-hearted things about the family and its staff at Red Star.

Super friendly staff, amazing food and its always done timely. Every time I call, I can order painlessly and the food is hot and ready by the time I get there. Really cant recommend it enough. For under 8 dollars I get a meal I can space out between 2 days. I reccomend the general Taos chicken, extra spicy with an egg roll and fried rice. Its what I get most of the time. Really good.

My family has been coming here for a long time. I swear portions get smaller and smaller, Im ashamed at the eggrolls I got tonight. They where so much bigger and better in the past. :( I discovered Kong kow down the street the portions are huge as well as my favorite the eggrolls :) plz red star make eggrolls better again :(

very nice portions flavors were excellent. had almond chicken and shrimp fried rice more than enough. egg roll was average waitress didnt tell me about dinner combination option. i ordered everything allacarte. this made my bill 4$ higher. will rate higher after trying combo option next visit, if quality stays same

great time with family and friends during the July 4th week in Detroit, love all the food we ordered here, very generous portions and great great taste, authentic！so much love and appreciate the decorations with each dish. will come back and revisit. This place will be a big hit if it is in Toronto, for sure.

This place had a rough start....I all but gave up on it. But recently Ive been going there at least once a week practically! I always get carry-out and the family that it owns are nice and respectful and the FOOD is EXCELLENT! Get ready for the best egg roll you ever had! Highly recommend it!

I live in Canada and went to visit family in Dearborn and came across this hidden gem!!! The food, service, and environment were all AMAZING!! And all within reasonable price range too! Definitely highly recommend!! :) Will definitely go back again.

Worst sesame chicken Ive ever had. Couldnt even eat it. It was slimy and absolutely disgusting. So bad I took pictures of it and sent them to a friend. Was charged double from the price on the menu for something I ended up throwing in the trash.

Awesome food. Definitely the best Chinese in the dearborn area. Fast Casual dining room setting (like Panera Bread). The sign says "carry out only" but what they mean is that you can eat your carry-out inside- Just clean up after yourself.
