Order: Crab Rangoon appetizer, pineapple fried rice, Red Curry Price: $35 Pros: Flavor of the food was delicious and on point, the curry specifically was tremendous, good variety on the menu Cons: There "spiciness" ratings change based on the food and can get very spicy, not an intimate environment to a couples dinner Thoughts: This is one of the better Thai restaurants Ive eaten at in Jacksonville, and while we may not have hundreds of them, I have tried at least 5 in the city. While this place doesnt have the typical Thai decor with Buddha statues, grass, and bamboo everywhere; in fact they went with an odd "modern" vibe, the food is particularly flavorful. I will say that if you go as a couple you will probably get one of their many 2 person table and sit across from one another. Because they have so many of these, and they put them quite close together you dont really get that "intimate setting" that you might be looking for in a date night restaurant. As far as the food was concerned though it was absolutely delicious; while Im not really a big fan of Crab Rangoon, this was probably be best dish Ive had and my wife loved it. She ordered the pineapple fried rice and as the picture shows it came in a carved out pineapple that was filled to the brim with a mixture of fried rice, pineapple, cashews, raisins, chicken, and shrimp. It was really good, and there was a lot of food, you could easily split it with 2 people. I got the red curry and it had to the be best red curry Ive ever had. I overhead one of the waitresses say that they had delicious curry and they werent kidding. The flavor was fantastic, they didnt skimp on the chicken, and they didnt give you too much rice. You do want to be careful if you dont appreciate spicy food as their food has a lot of heat. I personally love spicy food but my wife and I both asked for ours at a 2 out of 5 heat so we could share and mine was significantly hotter than hers. Mine was a spicy dish and hers was not but if you dont like spicy food you may wan to clarify with the server. Overall a really fantastic place to eat Thai, I wish their layout was a little better wish a quieter more personal atmosphere but food wise there is really nothing I would improve on.

Went in on a Sunday night and it was completely empty. Was very surprised based off of other peoples reviews. I have two complaints. We got mango chicken and basil chicken. Both of them had peppers beside the title indicating that the dish was spicy. The waitress asked us how spicy we wanted our food on a 1-5 scale and we said 3 for the mango and 3 for the basil. The mango chicken was all sweet! Not a sign of spice at all. The basil chicken had a pretty strong kick. This inconsistently was a little irritating. My second complaint is that the basil chicken didnt have a single piece of basil in it. It had all the ingredients except basil! The waitress didnt say anything and served it as if nothing was wrong. I think its a little odd that they think they can serve "basil chicken" without basil. Other than that, everything was great. Nice waitress, quick service, and the food was very tasty. I would return and recommend if I wasnt just passing through the area.

I read most of the reviews before trying this place out. I looked at the pics as well! Ive been craving Thai crispy duck with the red curry sauce, but Im on the north side and Im not near my usual Thai spot in Orange Park. Green Papaya didnt offer a dish with duck and the red curry but Im sure if I hadve asked they wouldve accommodated me. I didnt want to be difficult so I wanted the red curry more than I wanted the duck,so I settled for the red curry with chicken. The chicken was good but duck wouldve been better, again, thats my fault. But whats important here is that RED CURRY! Its absolutely perfect. Full of flavor&you can taste the coconut milk ,yum yum yum! It was truly a treat for me. I got the dinner size and its plenty left for lunch tomorrow but shoot I may eat the rest tonight! Next time (bc there will be a next time)I wanna try the pineapple rice in the pineapple mmmm

Ive been here a few times and have had a great experience every time. The food is good. If you grew up eating extra spicy lao papaya salad and need a fix, this is the place. This is the only asian restaurant that Ive been to that makes papaya salad that rivals my moms papaya salad. Ive had their pad thai and panang curry. The panang curry is delicious, flavorful and they give you a decent helping. The pad thai was ok. I grew up eating it so I have high standards. This is a nice, clean restaurant with great service. Ive always had great service here. The staff is helpful, patient and attentive. I ask a lot of questions and they have no problem answering them. Water was refilled regularly. There is a parking lot, there are always spots available since its in a strip mall. I would recommend this place if youre craving thai/ lao food.

The panang curry with tofu was great, as was the spicy chili cashew with tofu. However, the crispy tofu appetizer had so much potential to be incredible... the crispy fry on the outside and soft delicate tofu inside was perfection. BUT It just had ZERO flavor without the sweet dipping sauce. Even just the slightest seasoning in the breading or on the tofu would make it a much better dish. Be forewarned, they may ask you what heat level you prefer but they will bring you what they bring you hot, medium or mild- very inconsistent. The service is average but friendly. The prices are decent. The decor is lovely art deco, clean, bright atmosphere. (Though if you look close the furniture is ragged.) All in all, I would definately come back.

I have eaten here twice. Once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times the food was great, although the portion for price could be better. The atmosphere is nice. The service is horrible. I thought the first time was bad because it was later in the evening and we had a lot of people. The drinks were slow, appetizers, and dinner was slow and we waited forever to pay so we could leave. Then we came in for lunch. There were four tables and two servers. We waited for drinks, appetizers, and food all over again. There is really no since in service that bad at lunch when you are not busy. I will not go back. The best they might get from me would be carry out, because the food is really good.

Loved all the dishes I had here over 8 or so meals, but my wife was not a big fan. I told a good friend how incredibly tasty the food was and took him here for lunch. He added beef to his meal and when it came out, whatever it was they called beef, just looked terrible and was very gelatinous and had a funky taste. My friend, who happens to be Asian and very familiar with this type of food, just put it to the side and when we pointed out that there was something wrong with it the server and the manager acted insulted and just dismissed it and did not want to credit the up charge. I should have posted a picture of the slime. Needless to say I was embarrassed I brought my friend there.
