Uninspired cuisine. Typical heat and serve. For instance, lettuce is head only, no leafy in sight, garlic toast was some generic commercial bread like wonder bread smeared with margarine and covered in garlic powder then burned in the broiler. Next, baked potatoe came with a large scoop of you guessed it, margarine. Perch dinner, frozen not fresh, overly dusted , and overcooked. Free seconds? Umm, no thanks. Ok, restaurant is fairly clean, as some other objective reviewer notes "the Silverware was clean" one sip of the margarita was all I could manage. A syrupy sweet potion that resembled jello and corn syrup. So if you, like me are looking for food that makes you go wow, this is not your place. If you are in the area and need something to get by til the next great meal, go ahead. It probably wont make you ill. Service is great for those that need that criteria.

The Showboat Restaurant can be described in one word, SUPERB! While motorcycling hours from our home, we stumbled upon this place. The staff was extra friendly, they even opened the doors welcoming us in. The food was excellent and priced fairly. We got the fish and chips and even though it was fried it was not greasy at all. Some of the best fish Ive ever eaten! The entire restaurant was very clean (even the bathrooms!) and our waitress could not have been more efficient or sweeter! Treat yourself and have a meal at the Showboat Restaurant. Very quaint town with beautiful homes surround this gem. We will definitely be back!

This place is probably the best mom and pop restaurant Ive ever been too. The crowd is universal. The breakfast is too good to be true. Plus you can order adult beverages for breakfast right next to the church crowd. Bloody Mary bar on Sunday mornings. You cant get much better. Levis in Saginaw you can order drinks in the morning but theyre overpriced. This place keeps it affordable. A+++++

Great food, excellent service, this your home away from restaurant. The breakfast are just the right size and cooked the way you want it. All the food tastes like Mom made it and the cost is 20-35% cheaper that the big chains. The waitresses work hard to keep you happy even when they are packed with people to the wall you are never forgotten. AAAAAAAAAAAAAA+

As the only traditional sit-down restaurant without a prominent bar portion in Chesaning, Showboat does a great job of combining friendly staff and menu options that range from familiar favorites to interesting dishes youve probably never tried before.

Wow! This is a good down home place to eat. Being from Alabama it was good to see that they have those up north. I felt at home and the service was great! I loved the food!
