Great place to do some work or to pause during an Ann Arbor full day. So full of light during the days, and occassional projections on the walls behind the bar as the nighttime arrives. Always an incredibly friendly staff, and a fun mix of high quality snacks and sweets. The coffee is great, and they know what their talking about when it comes to coffee. Its a smallish space but Ive never had issues with it being too crowded but might be hard for a massive group. +1

Each time I come here, the staff exceeds my expectations. The matcha green tea latte was recommended to me by the owner (which is nice to see, because a lot of owners dont seem to show face at their own businesses), and it was delicious and aesthetically pleasing. The latte art is very neat and crisp. Little details go a long way. Additionally, the ambience is very warm and inviting, with a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

First I love local independent coffee shops and Im not a Starbucks gal at all. So I was thrilled to try the lab. First the girl who took our order was more than rude to us...and yes we added a tip to Our order..just plain rude! Now the Girl who actually made our coffee order was nice. But I have to give a one star on service and taste of coffee. Coffee was bitter and not very hot. Sadly cute decor but we wont be back.

Lab consistently offers really creative drinks that are super tasty! They also serve bottled craft beer, which is kind of awesome. I spend a lot of time studying there and drinking coffee and end my study sessions with a beer, which is pretty perfect. The atmosphere is also really nice. I love studying there because there is always nice music playing and its a nice change of scenery compared to the library.

An interesting coffee shop, they offer a nice selection with a few speciality drinks. However the honey and cinnamon latte I ordered was very sweet and had too much cinnamon on top. We may have had a new barista as well because there was an attempt at latte art but it didnt turn out. The atmosphere inside is rather strange, they have a bunch of mismatched furniture that looks out of place.

Good coffee and cakes but often slow service. Its also quite expensive. The design of the place is great and they have delicious baked goods (though they cannot warm then for you). Not the best place for sitting in and studying for more than an hour. Youll probably feel uncomfortable hanging there for longer.

Im not a coffee drinker and still love this place. They have great hot/iced teas and the thai lemonade is awesome. Their pastries are also fantastic; a personal favorite is the chocolate turtle cake (though they rarely have it). My only complaint is that I wish they were open a little bit later.

I visit lab often. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. The music is sometimes loud, but they curate the playlist themselves. Jo is happy to talk to you about the business if you ask her anything about the products or philosophy. Get the lavender and honey latte or the iced chai!

I got a cappuccino, my sister got a mocha, and my mom got a macchiato. My sister and I ended up throwing ours out because the drinks tasted so burnt. My mom toughed it out but said the drink was made wrong(more like a cappuccino than a macchiato). Wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.

Great coffee and espresso drinks and really tasty baked goods from Songbird Cafe with GF options. Its often packed and can be hard to get a seat if you are planning on studying. Staff can come across as indifferent at times - if they were friendlier Id give this place 5 stars.

There are so many coffee shops to try in Ann Arbor, but Lab is a must. This adorably trendy spot offers custom Latte flavors and all kinds of taste treats. Pro Tip: Try the Honey Lavender Latte, it is fantastic. Wonderful place and wonderful staff.

Not a true coffee lab. Order a cafe latte, milk way too hot and it gets served in a cappuccino mug instead of a glass. Please learn how the different types of coffees and how they should be served.

Great spot for pour over coffee, good rotating selection of high quality beans like Blue Bottle, Madcap, Intelligentsia, and Counter Culture. Not a ton of seating. Baristas are fairly knowledgable!
