Poor quality food. Tried this restaurant based on a friends recommendation. I can no longer trust her judgement when it comes to food. The atmosphere is typical of cheap Mexican restaurants. However, the chips and salsa were probably the worst weve had in years. The salsa was not home made and tasted like a cheap salsa I used to buy at the food store before I learned about good salsa. As bad a Pace Picante is, this stuff was worst. Honestly, I feel sorry for the reviewers who raved about this salsa. It looked an tasted like pureed tomatos with some heat. The chips were OK, but we found a number of extra crunchy chips (if you know what I mean) in our batch. As an appetizer, we ordered the "cheese dip" (AKA chile con queso at other Mexican restaurants). My wife and I both thought it looked and tasted like melted Velveeta cheese with Rotel. For our entrée, we both ordered quesadillas. I ordered beef, she ordered portabella mushroom. We really liked that you could order them with portabella mushrooms and cannot think of another Mexican restaurant that offers this. My wife enjoyed the portabella mushroom quesadillas, and they did look good. You could visibly see the mushrooms when each slice was held up. I was not that lucky. My beef quesadillas had hardly any beef inside when looking at the side of each slice and after I had taken bites. It was so noticeable that my wife commented on it before I commented. As for the service, it started out well but then our waitress was no where to be found. She may have had other tables that demanded her attention, who knows. But our experience was not good. Other tables, with different wait staff, seemed to get more attention. Overall, the food was not very satisfying and we feel it was not home made. When I go out to eat, I expect to buy food that I cannot make at home or buy at the local Wal-Mart.

Wish I could give it zero. Ordered carry out dinner for the family. Boy was that a mistake. Their $11 fajita taco dinner (ordered two of them) was the skimpiest meal I have ever been served. Barely ANYTHING in the tacos. Literally a couple small pieces of meat a couple of grilled vegetables and the smallest portion of cheese and sour cream possible. Not even half of the 4" flour taco shells were filled, pathetic. The sides of beans and rice were almost non-existent. Their supposed chili con queso was nothing but a bowl of melted shredded cheese. Seriously, it says on the menu that there is green pepper onion and jalapeno in their queso. It was NOTHING BUT melted shredded cheese. Disgusting. The two burrito dinners that I ordered were far from filling but thats the thing I can complain least about. Dont waste your time, money or especially your appetite in this place. You will be sadly disappointed.

After living in Texas for a long time, Im pretty picky when it comes to Mexican food. That being said, I found Angelinas to be very good. I had the Tacos al Carbon with chicken and beef. While they werent fancy, they were quite tasty with cilantro and onion. The beans and rice accompanying the dish were was quite good. I especially loved the salsa. The hot one was nice and spicy without being so hot you couldnt enjoy the flavor. The mild one was very good, too, with enough zest to make it interesting but not enough to bother those who arent fond of too much spice. The dining area is very small, so it pays to get in early. They do take out orders, though, so you can call ahead and pick it up to enjoy elsewhere. It looks like Angelinas will be one of my regular stops.

Pretty awful Mexican joint, better off going to Mexican town. [EDIT] Or any of the 3 or 400(ok I exaggerate slightly, but seriously, not by much. Only thing close to it is the # of coney islands in a similar area, actually those are worse now that I think of the 3 all probably in a probably a .1m radius. I digress, but I must, I just cant understand how such a dense packing of coney islands is economically feasible...) mexican restaurants in 5m radius, e.g. Manuels Taco Hut(their mexican sandwich easily surpasses Angelinas OTOH its nothing special either just OK, hence the mexicantown comment). I ordered almost 70 dollars worth of carry out for a birthday party and the food was ALL cold! I was so disappointed. I called to tell them that my food was cold and they told me the food was cooked 5 minutes before I showed up. Total lie! Everyone at my house had to put their food in the microwave to eat it hot. Very embarrassing. I was also told I couldnt use my Cabrini Boosters discount card because I ordered a family special. The Cabrini paper says you get 10% off at Angelinas, not just the dinners which is what the employee told me too.

They forget things in your meal often and hope that you dont remember. Ive ordered 2 large meals from them including catering on two separate occasions. They didnt apologize or say anything about the inconveniences. They actually looked for my ticket to ensure they were giving me the small size that I told them I had ordered. Why would I lie about getting the small size? They looked at me like I was crazy. Only one of the three even remembered I was there on this very slow fay. The food is good the service not so much.

I just spent $26 for 7 tacos in one beef burrito and a pop that is the most atrocious thing Ive ever seen in my life their beef has been watered down and cook over a griddle she does not come with a taco is optional or extra $0.50 sour cream for 7 tacos came in a little bit and I agree with the previous rating which means one star because the Man spent $75 and when he got home phone was missing and he paid $75 for food for a family that is a joke. I would never eat at that place again.

Was hesitent to try this little place considering the location and fact its in a strip mall but ventured out the other day to give it a try. I had pork carnitas, my fiance had the Mexican sandwich they were both delicious fresh and hot, even the chips were warm out of the fryer. The salsa you can see is homemade with bits of onion and celantro clearly visible. I usually will only go to Southwest to get armondos however will definitely be back here and recommend!

I spent $75 for food and I get home and we had food missing. I called and no apology or nothing. Had to drive all the way back and you would think they would have refunded a portion or gave us something or at least a sorry. All that food and had to pay for chips?? Queso was watery and all the cheese was clumped to the bottom. Chicken was dry and portions small. Not what I would expect for $75.
