This my absolute favorite place to eat, and watch sports at the same time. Ive lived in the Taunton area for 2 years coming from Boston & its the best place Ive eaten yet! I love their Home Plate cheese burgers & may have a Bahama Breeze or 2. I usually come to eat, not sit at the bar. But cant help ordering this drink its AWESOME! Great atmosphere, great people. Although I feel they really shouldnt be giving the checks before the last person is done eating, it kind of says "Hurry up" but they do tell you "no rush they can add whatever on the check". I do understand they need to move people out at some point. But if we are ordering drinks its more money for them. And i feel giving the check before were actually done with our drinks & meal is telling me Im on borrowed time. It is the place I love going with my hubby, and I do understand if we are done eating we should probably leave. Im not a heavy drinker in fact the opposite, so Ill never sit at the bar. I just wish they wouldnt give the checks so quickly it makes me feel like we are being told we only have so much time to sit, eat and enjoy myself even though we are paying. So thats why I gave 4 stars not 5! If youre in this town visiting, or youre a tourist? Stop in "The Home Plate " and have a bite to eat the food is great or even a few drinks, you wont be sorry!

Weve been getting food here for years, It was always a top pick out of all the local places. Within the past 6 months however, the quality of the food has become similar to a fast food joint. You know those burgers you have such high hopes for, but you open it up and its 2 crushed soggy buns, barely cooked chicken, and one sorry excuse of a lettuce leaf? My fiancé got sick last month after eating a salmon dinner there, and tonight we ordered a pizza and some chicken wings. The wings were alright, but the pizza was something out of a horror show. It looked like a flat, half cooked tortilla with a spoonful of canned sauce. In the middle of the burnt satanic circle was a pile of raw "veggies". We had 3 pieces before throwing it away in disgust.. I can honestly say we are never getting food here again. Sadly, the cooks either got sick of cooking, or they hired a dirty raccoon as their head chef.

I just moved to town and have been here a few times. The food is good. The service is good. Thats why they get 2 stars. However, I moved from out of state and came in to watch the Blackhawks game. I was sitting at the bar and was the only one looking at a small tv in a corner. The manager refused to put on the game because the Bruins game was on. So the Bruins game is on 8 tvs, and I am not allowed to watch my game. Everyone around me said it was fine to put on. The manager still refused. I understand this place is in New England, but this is a sports bar. Not everyone is from Boston and the surrounding area. This is the only establishment Ive ever been in that refuses to put on a game because the home team is playing. If you want to watch anything that isnt Boston, go to a real sports bar. Lost my business.

Love the catfish here... But honestly not sure Id go bk after the service we got there 2 days ago.. we had a party of 3 for lunch.. set in the bk room.. severa other people in there.. lady took 10 min to recognize we were there.. came took our drink order.. another lady came and took our lunch order.. another person brought the food out.. cornbread was burnt.. mac and chzz sucked.. never got a drink refill once.. never came bk to the table after we got the food... I had to chase yet another person down for the check just to leave.. Cant believe it was that bad.. Their place in Chickamauga Choo Choo BBQ is top notch and we love that place but home plate needs better staff for sure...

Always went to Rocking Horse (it use to be Moonbean Club) on Rt 140! But when it burnt down, Rob always said he was going to rebuild it! He made a wise choice by buying the old Gondola Restaurant on Bay St. The old Moonbeam/Rocking Horse was dangerous at the curve on Rt 140! Had a lot of accidents! Plus the building was old! He did a lot of renovations to the Old Gondola Building, and made it better than it ever was. The menu has 10X the food choices now! And its all great! So when youre in the area, go visit and eat, drink and be happy! You wont be disappointed!!!!

Huge dissapointment. If the management put half as much effort into the menu as they do squeezing young girls into spandex as the wait staff, then it might actually be good. Menu says 100% ground sirloin home plate hamburger. Liar, liar pants on fire. You can clearly taste bread crumbs. This cheap way of lowering your overhead is sleazy and gross. Adding this much bread crumbs makes the burger a grease sponge! Also not using serlion and using Chuck adds to this. I wonder if they can screw up fried food too? I bet they can.

After 4 drinks and one shot left to take a friend home because he just received bad news. I went back to finish watching my game and i found i was cut off after seeing many of the same people sitting at the bar drinking one drink after another . Im pretty sure they wont cut any one off after 7 tonight when there home team is playing def not giving home plate any more money or the 30 other guys i have up here 4 months Ever year sorry homeplate for you lost of bussiness. Dont recommend if not a pats fan guys!!

Love the atmosphere, love the food! We tend to stop in on Sundays because we love Lauren the bartender, she is great! She remembers our drinks, always takes our food order fast and makes everyone at the bar feel welcomed and part of the activities, she is a true asset to Home Plate! The customer service at Home Plate is so awesome! Highly recommend Home Plate for dining, private event or just a few drinks at the bar. Either of the ways, you will not be disappointed!

Have been a few times and had good service , food was good , but went a couple weeks ago, my wife and i like to sit at the bar, there was a man a few seats down from us { obviously a homeplate regular} every other word was a swear and loud enough so the bartenders heard , but no one seemed to care ! He was obviously intoxicated and they were still serving him. We wont be back !

We have been going here for years, this time they outdid themselves. It was my daughters birthday and she always orders a dish called seafood from hell. Spicy loaded with all kinds of seafood. It was no longer on the menu. They actually made it for her. We also asked to be seated in a quite spot. They accommodated that too. We love Home Plate.
