I love Seawitch and take my aunt from Saugus there once a month. They have some great lunch specials that are only $6.95 (like grilled trout, fish and chips) with a choice of sides. If you dont like your vegetables el dente (firm), ask them to cook them soft. The onion rings are to die for! Probably the best Ive ever had. Have enjoyed fried scallops many times. I dont understand why the folks below left such negative comments because Ive been going there for probably 10 years and never had a bad meal or bad service. Some may think its a little odd that you go up to a counter, order your food and pay, but then you sit down at a fairly comfortable booth and wait for the waitress to deliver it. I never met the owner so I dont know what his name is but it seems that the other reviews are out to diss him, rather than concentrating on how good the food is. For those on a diet, their Diet Root Beer is delicious and their fried foods are NOT greasy and I never get indigestion so I dont know what those other reviewers are talking about. I travel all the way from Needham to go to Seawitch. Its worth the trip! I would give it five stars if the atmosphere was a little more "posh" but the food is definitely 5 stars in my book!

Horrible, horrible. My fam and I go out to eat seafood all the time, and this is the first time its been bad. I had the fried clams(bland and oily) mom had the lobster pie(tasted very processed) and dad had a piece of fish(I dont recall what kind but he said it was gross). Service was slow, staff was snippy, portions were skimped, drinks were watered down, atmosphere was dark and dingy, and the row of carpet between tables is narrow like a military mess hall setup.. Also, lets just say its a good thing there are three bathrooms in our house because thats where weve been spending most of our time for the past 24 hours thanks to the greasy, heavy, trans-fat laden slop we were served at the appropriately named Sea WITCH, as one of Satans cursed daughters of Salem undoubtedly put some sort of evil diarrhea spell on all of our dishes. This has never happened to any of us at any other restaurant of any kind!!

Great seafood...walk in menus on the back board, specials on the chalkboard. After you order, pay at the register, then have seat. They bring the food to your table. Everything is delicious. Good serving size of sides. On my second visit I ordered a 1lb Whole steamed lobster to go with a cup of New England clam chowder. While chatting, I shared I was going back to the hotel I was staying at. To my pleasant surprise, I opened the container to find the lobster cracked so the meat just came right out! What an excellent example of anticipating the customers needs. Service and food excellent! Must stop on my next visit to the area. (Casual attire, quick turn in from the main road, ample parking)

I think this was the third time I ever had Lobster and the first having a Lobster Roll. Oh wow... Let me just say that it was super delicious! The clam chowder was off the hook too. Makes me wish I would have had a whole lobster and try every other item on the menu. Ill definitely stop here again next time I stay in Peabody.

Food is marginal at best, Find it hard to believe you got sick here When three people got 3 different things, The food needs updating Small portions for the fried foods But this place is clean and it wont make you sick. Buddymisty needs a life we are not stupid. The counter help needs more customer Service skills

they oyster bar but when I asked for raw oysters they were out so I got fired. Ordered chardonnay wine and they came back after I had paid and said they are our so I jag 8 something else. What kind of seafood restaurant runs out of that. I wont be going back

The most disgusting lobster chowder that Ive ever had I didnt think it could get any worse until my lobster roll came the lobster was Moshey they did not put any mayonnaise or anything else with it onion rings were soggythey will never see me again

The worst lobster roll and chowder I have had on all New England. The chowder was bland and the clams were sandy. The lobster roll had no real lobster chunks, it was all super shredded and I got two bites with shell in it. Never again

Maybe its Boston in general, but most seafood is fried to hell and bland. The fish sandwich I ordered was okay, but the seafood platters my friends got were kind of iffy. The chowder was good. Staff was super nice.

We had baked fish with vegetables and fish and chips. Baked fish was good not great and the vegetables had no taste. Fish and onion rings where good. Service very good but all an all The cost was very high.
