Everything!!!! The food was spectacular!! Everyone was very nice and patient. It was our first time there. If you like your clam chowder thick and creamy, youll love it here! Best clam chowder Ive had in Boston, thus far. The crab cake was perfect with side salad and dressing. It came with warm goat cheese and fresh, sweet strawberries. The lobster roll was worth every penny. A wonderful balance of the taste of tempura lobster (lightly friend, not oily or half a pound of panko). The shrimp cocktail looked like the shrimp from Beetlejuice due to presentation, lol, but they were tasty! The cucumber drink our waiter suggested was sweet, fresh, and just right for a warm summer night. The salmon sushi was great! Make a reservation!!!! We had no idea how successful and popular this establishment was until we arrived. On a bustling Friday night, by the time we found out about Legal, they only had a 11 p.m. space available for 2 people. We decided to try our luck and show up without a reservation. We arrived at 10ish p.m. The place was packed and bustling. Lots of energy and nice lighting. The hostesses was kind enough to find us a place right away, away from the noise and music. However, since it was my birthday and anniversary dinner, we asked if the outside water seats would be available. They accommodated us immediately and had the best overall meal experience in Boston. We will definitely be back for the same thing next year! Thank you to everyone that accommodated our requests and made the entire experience a very memorable one! Plus, we had tons of great quality food, Moscato dAsti, a cocktail drink for a very reasonable price. I believe it was less than 110 for all food and drinks previously stated. Please thank the chefs and kitchen team for the absolutely delicious foods!!!! :-*

Quick summary: not worth the exorbitant prices for inconsistent quality but decor and great desserts make a great post dinner stop. This place clearly attempts to make service a priority. Received top notch service from bartender and hostess, both went above and beyond most places. Waiter was communicative and eager to answer questions although there was some confusion about who our waiter actually was. Ordered appetizers, two soups, which were both served from coffee type carafes, not even the same style oddly enough. Dont know where they were storing those as our soups were luke warm after being poured. Also the ingredients in my lobster soup were cold so I ate luke warm soup with cold lobster bits. Flavors were OK but nothing above average. Main dishes took a bit longer than expected for such a small dining room, maybe 30 mins after appetizers. Finally received a halibut and sea bass which were hit and miss. Halibut was quite good and unique. The sea bass had absolutely no flavor and the gnocchi bed underneath was just an odd combination. Finished up with dessert which was exceptional. This is the second time weve been here for dessert and serious props go out to the dessert chef. Everything weve had for dessert has been excellent. When you factor in that you are probably spending $75 a head the food is an absolute pass. For that kind of money everything should be flawless, temperature, presentation, flavor, etc. Too many inconsistencies detract from an otherwise decent experience. I say eat on the first floor and save some cash, then make your way up to the second for post dinner drinks and dessert.

Saturday night (September 3, 2016) we were seated at the second floor for our daughters engagement party. I have celiac disease, (autoimmune disease to gluten) I cannot eat out often because of cross contamination issues in kitchens of restaurants. I called a few days before the event and spoke to Randy the manager. He assured me he could provide me with a safe meal. I placed our order with him over the phone. When we arrived, Randy and our waiter (cant remember his name) could not have been more accommodating. They met with me prior to taking orders, reviewed everything, brought my food and drinks out separately, reassuring me throughout the evening. And they did it discreetly as none of the other guests were aware. I can not tell you how grateful I am for having this experience and that Randy went above and beyond to make my food safe. Right down to dessert! You really never know until after an hour of eating if everything has gone safely, but yes it did. To be able to enjoy my daughter and future son inlaws engagement gathering, was the biggest gift Legal Harborside Dining could have given us. Thank you Randy for all that you did. I appreciate it more than you ever know. Sincerely Maria Newman

Our visit to Legal Second Floor was a huge disappointment. We had reservations at 6pm and arrived early so went to the 3rd floor for drinks. Fast service, lovely view. It all went downhill when we went to dinner. This was a group outing and we were looking forward to a special dinner. It took almost 3 hours to get through the meal. It was ~45 minutes after ordering that the appetizers arrived. The main course arrive ~45 minutes after we finished and everyones food was cold. It was sent back (the entire table) and returned. The second time round the food was warm, but not hot. Furthermore, the food was bland. I have such high expectations of Legal-really like the food at the other sites, and this was a real disappointment Based on the bad service they provided dessert free of charge. I would never go back and I recommend that no one go there for dinner.

This place has a very nice location, you can get seating right by the water. Im not 100% sure if the fish actually comes from the market next door but the quality of the seafood makes you feel like they are fishing up your food in the back. The menu ranges from fresh seafood classics to sushi. The drink menu is also classics with a twist. The crab cakes are out of this world. My table ordered the fish tacos, tuna burger and fish in a bag with the crab cakes as an app and cocktails all around. All of the food was amazing very fresh and well prepared. Service was great too. My only complaint is the price of the food. The average meal for two people can be 40-50 very easily without drinks or apps. I guess the idea is quality costs but if youve been around you know that doesnt always have to be the case. However its still very very worth it here.

Enormously sized restaurant, from bistro ground floor to fine dining at upper level. Missing a proper waiting lounge; I sat on a wooden chair behind stairs. Service is friendly and professional. We ate lunch outdoors on the deck. A fishing boat blew its horn, adding to authenticity. All of the food was fresh and expertly cooked and presented -- bacon wrapped scallops, 1.5 lb lobster, and Boston creme pie. Lobster came "lazy", or essential bits pre-cut to make it easier to dissemble. For me, the Boston creme pie underwhelmed -- it was a deconstructed form (which I dont prefer anyway), and a little dry (not enough custard), saved only by a pure chocolate sauce. At least they were able to serve me a good English Breakfast tea with it. I have yet to have a bad experience at Legal Sea Food. The food and service is always reliable.

After wandering around the Greenway one misty afternoon, my mom and I came to Legal Harborside for a late lunch. Despite the misting rain, we were able to sit outside on the first floor patio because the roof overhangs the patio just enough to provide a dry seat. We were seated and attended to by a server immediately. My mom ordered the swordfish gyro, and I had the lobster roll. Ive never seen a swordfish gyro before, and Im told it was delicious (mom wouldnt share). My lobster roll was very good - huge chunks of fresh lobster. I would have liked the hot dog roll to be toasted a bit more, but Im only complaining because I feel a bit whiney at the moment. Ive never had a bad meal at Legal Harborside. With the great food, fast attentive service, and beautiful view of the harbor, the Legal Harborside is a sure bet for any meal.
