We were greeted promptly but then told there was a 5-10 minute wait although we were seated just a few minutes later. We asked if there were gluten free options and the hostess said "yes, but youll have to ask your waitress. I dont know them." We probably should have left then. 2 of us ordered burgers medium that came out charred on the outside and rare on the inside. The fish and chips was also cooked unevenly ranging from almost doughy to dark brown on the fried coating. The kids chicken fingers were also dark brown/black on the coating. Asked for a dipping sauce, but they only offered hot sauce. The only gluten free option was a sweet potato soup. My gluten-free child risked the grilled chicken Caesar salad without breadcrumbs. It came a full 10 minutes after the rest of the meals and when I finally found the waitress she said the grilled chicken takes a while. My daughter took one bite of the salad. She couldnt eat more because of the strange tasting dressing. The waitress paid no attention to the untouched plate. The atmosphere was nice but there were some serious quality issues coming out of the kitchen.

Had lunch last week with three friends. Restaurant is clean neat well decorated, the staff was friendly and prompt the menu is short but varied it can be a much needed addition to New Bedford downtown. The craft beer was fresh and flavorful we sampled four different Brews. We ordered the Blackboard specials I had fish and chips with that heavy crispy batter that could be improved somewhat so that the fish is the main part of the meal and not the batter . My lunch guests had the Blackboard special Portuguese hamburgers a fresh hamburger patty with a grilled piece of linguica on top. The specials were very good but the price was a little out of the range of downtown the Bedford at $16 each for the burgers doing the math thats $48 for three burgers we had 4 small craft beers split two desserts and the bill with tip was $127 for lunch a bit steep for a lunch in New Bedford. We wish Moby Dick Brewing Company the best of luck in the future

The Moby Dick Brewing Co. transformed a former wholesale banana operation and a bookmakers office into a first class brewery of specialty beer. The Melville theme and nautical names carry through the brews and dishes served here. The place is spacious, well lit and handsomely appointed, and was packed when we visited during AHA night. You can purchase beer by the glass, a sampling of four brews, or a growler of beer. The menu is a creative blend of dishes prepared by a professional chef. Prices are fair for the quality, caring preparation and presentation. Moby Dick Brewery is located within the Historic District and is convenient to the Whaling Museum and other venues in New Bedford. This is a friendly place that is attracting students, young professionals and couples of all ages. This is an exceptional example of adaptive reuse and a vote for the future in New Bedford. Visit, you will not be disappointed.

My wife and had an excellent experience at Moby Dick Brewing Co last Saturday. The appearance and ambiance of the venue was warm, engaging, classy and comfortable. The seating was spaced well and very comfortable. The bar was handsome and well appointed. Very attractive. The brewery itself was very interesting and accessible. We were able to sample all menu items and each was very very good. Way above average in uniqueness, appearance and, above all, taste. The beer, well that is a story unto itself. There is something good, whatever your preference. They are nuanced and subtle. Very nice to the eye. Served in really pleasant glassware. And the names make you want to sample each one! ( Alas, I could only try 5 of 8.) They were all good. This is a place you will want to try and in all likelihood, you will return often!

I had an opportunity to visit Moby Dick Brewing Co. at a soft opening event. Simply put, it is a great place! I liked everything about it... comfortable atmosphere... roomy and spacious, but not too big... lots of windows to be able to see out into our historic district and downtown... a nice bar with a couple of televisions to watch the Red Sox... a terrific spread of food... and even a non-beer drinker like me enjoyed tasting a couple of their brews. They also have a full bar... much more than just the beer! The bar staff was outstanding!... even with a big crowd, I didnt see anyone wait for more than a minute or two to get served. I had a tour of the brewery operation... absolutely recommend it... their Brewmaster knows his stuff! Its definitely a place my wife and I will enjoy for lunch and dinner many times.

I was able to be there for the soft opening on Satursday night and we got there as the sun was going down. The decor, with the windows, and the industrial lighting really nade the place warm and inviting! The beer was fantastic and the staff was energized and was very excited to be there. The food which we got to sample was amazing. Different from just regular boring pub food which is what made it special. They really had something for everyone. They even have a gift shop and i ended up buying 2 shirts, 2 beer tumblers, a tote bag and a blanket! The place was really hopping and everyone was so excited to be there. I WILL be going back everytime i visit the New Bedford area! You have a winner on your hands here!!!

Last night we had an event for the Umass Dartmouth Center for Marketing Research at the beautiful new Moby Dick Brewing Co. The decor and ambiance are perfect....comfortable, homey, the perfect size. Huge windows all around allow incredible views of the city. The beer was extraordinary under the care of Scott the brew master. His tours are well worth going on. The food was great, and the bar staff is fast and professional. It is one very impressive place. I know we will be back for lunch soon. You definitely need to check out the Moby Dick Brewing Co.!!

Moby Dick Brewing Co. is a remarkable new entry into the already awesome eating and drinking scene in Downtown New Bedford. The beer- brewed on site - is top-notch. (Got to try the double IPA!) Its reason enough to keep coming back. And the food is amazing! But the real accomplishment is that the place feels like its been around for a long while, like your favorite neighborhood pub, but updated. Youve got to check it out! Congrats to all involved, especially the brewmaster!

My wife and I visited for the first time tonight. We thought the beer was very good. We tried a flight and my wife had the double IPA. All the beers we tried were excellent. The food was very good also. Our server, Chylee, was phenomenal. She made a great dinner just that much better. She was very personable, attentive, quick and efficient. Our only criticism is that the menu could have a little more variety but overall it was pretty good. We will definitely visit again.

I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to check out this place last Saturday for their introductory night! It is FABULOUS!!! The location, the decor, the food, the people, and of course, the beer!!! Very classy, not your typical pub but casual and great place for meeting a group of friends or date night! I already have plans to return on Friday and will continue for many more! Best wishes for success!!!
