Brought my fiancee and her father here for a birthday dinner recently. The service was mediocre and more appropriate to a bar than a restaurant, slow and inattentive. Three of our initial entree choices were no longer available, one of which was listed on the specials board; if something isnt available, why continue advertising it? We asked for more bread with our entrees, and were told that they were running low on bread as well and couldnt provide more. All this for food prices more appropriate to the 128 / 95 Beltway than Lowell. The average entree price was north of $14 - for this, I expect bread to be in stock! The food was bland and uninspired, and my father in laws steak tasted inexplicably of liver. The one good element of our visit was that the dining room was relatively nice and had good decor. That having been said, there are other restaurants within walking distance that are much, much better. Dont waste your money at Friends.

The BEST Portuguese food anywhere this side of the Atlantic! Its not a dollar menu so be prepared to spend a few bucks. However, the portions are more than generous and could be eaten twice although the flavor is so amazing it will be difficult to put the fork down. If you want amazing flavor and a friendly environment then look no further than Friends restaurant and pub.

The best experience I have had in a very long time. This restaurant is owned and operated by husband and wife with the best culinary skills involving Azorean cuisine. Ive tried to find restaurants that can compete but there is no other can match its authenticity. Right down to its customers, people here feel as if they were all family.

12/4/13 - had dinner tonight - it was great! Service was spot on, restaurant is well decorated, food was de-licious. A big shout out to Jordyn, my dinner date. We had the place to ourselves (Tuesday night) which was great for us, but yall are missing out. Check it out - but if you go TH or FRI call ahead for a reservation.

We just tried this place for the first time and loved it! The food is inexpensive but so delicious. I cant speak to authenticity because Ive never had Portuguese food before, but it was really tasty. We got the linguica for an app which was a flaming spicy kielbasa. It was wondeful! We highly recommend.

You must try the flaming linguica app! For a meal I had to go with old faithful... Carne Alentejana (marinated pork cubes with little neck clams in a white wine sauce... over cubed fried potatoes and rice). Never left hungry so far!
