Found this amazing Bread Bakery while doing some sightseeing. Pure luck when we passed it by, the instant rustic charm of the outside of the building drew us in. We were extremely pleased to find the owner and head Baker covered in flour and wearing a huge smile. He welcomed us and took the time to explain everything he had to offer, at that time his shop was nothing more than a glass case inside of his Warehouse where he cooked all of his products. We have purchased ciabattas, baguettes, rolls, croissants and various different loaves of bread all have been outstanding. One of our favorite things to purchase of late has been their Spelt flour pizza dough, it tastes delicious. We have visited this place regularly throughout the years and have watched it grow to a very nice shop located right next to his Bread Bakery building. We dont see him as often however we can still see his love and passion in every product we buy. I highly recommend this Bakery to all that enjoy good quality healthy breads.

Ever since coming to this country, Ive struggled to find real bread. Bread that has no added sugar, no yeast, no preservatives, no fillers. After twenty years of searching, Ive found it, at Berkshire Mountain Bakery. We stop by every few months, since its a drive from Albany, and get enough to fill the freezer. Weve tried most of the products they make, pizzas, croissants, sandwiches, breads, chocolate bread (its own category), and its all been a solid five stars. Add to that some of the best service Ive experienced, and reasonable prices, and you can see why theyre rated so highly. I recommend the pan loaf of whole rye sourdough if you like Russian style black bread.

This was a pilgrimage; 250 mile round trip after seeing the bakery on the Michael Pollan documentary series on Netflix. For a family member with some dietary restrictions, it was worth the drive. Also, its the Berkshires, so you cant go wrong. Amazing breads all using a sourdough starer, tiny retail shop with very friendly service. Get the Bread & Chocolate...trust me. Also a San Francisco Sourdough.

The girlfriend and I stopped by here on our scenic drive back to NYC after a beautiful autumn weekend in Pioneer Valley. Its a tiny little place (at least the actual shop is) but well worth a visit. Prices were excellent (bread is a lot more expensive in the city, it seems) and the product was truly exemplary. Highly recommend.

Dont be fooled by the factory looking facade. Theres a small retail shop and its well worth the stop. You cant go wrong with anything you choose but my favorite was the regular croissant. One of the best Ive ever had.

The BEST bread! I stock up and freeze the loaves. Hard for us to eat any other bread now that we know how delicious the Berkshire Mountain Bakery bread is. Wish they sold to stores in NYC, too.

They are famous from the Netflix series cooked. We drove up from Eastern Ma to give them a try. The bread is excellent however somehow I expected it to be more distinctive then it was.

Tucked away in a strip mall - difficult to find but so worth it! Were big fans of Berkshire Mountain Bakery in Housatonic since they opened - this little gem just adds to the brand!

Best bread, referenced in Netix show Cooked, and NYTimes article. Classic San Francisco sourdough is my favorite. Try the pizzas as well. Usually buy lots and bring home to freeze.

Great sourdough bread (all varieties) and the "take-and-bake" pizza from the Housatonic location (not available from Pittsfield) is wonderful. A little pricey, but worth it!

This guy is passionate about his craft and that passion comes through in his bread. If youre a home baker you must ask for a tour, its an impressive place.

Great breads. I loved their Christmas bread. We also got a loaf of their chibata; also very good. Nice location outside of town.
