Last night I had the fortunate experience of getting a free tasting of some of the delicious pastries made at the Sapienza Bake Shop. The owner of the shop came to a wonderful event/fundraiser hosted by Lev Layzan (Compassionate Clown Alley)that was intended to raise money and awareness of this amazing organization. He shared with us, the story of how his Italian family (from Sicily) came to open Sapenzass bakery and how he ultimately decided to make it kosher. He also generously shared with us, his secrets for making truly delicious and authentic Italian Cannolis. I thoroughly enjoyed every thing I sampled, but the stand out item for me was the french custard filled cream puff with the vanilla glazed topping (there was a chocolate version that was yummy too, but I am more of a vanilla fan). As a person who keeps a strictly kosher diet, I dont frequently get to taste high quality bakery items that are dairy and that delectable. These are a must try item that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who is reading this review. The other pastries that I had tried were also yummy, and I am sure there is an abundance of cookies, cakes and pastries that I will fall in love with as well when I make my way over to the shop, which I plan to do very soon. Please join me. This authentic Kosher Italian bakery is a real find!!

I have very mixed feelings about this place. The bakes goods are great but my first and so far only experience wasnt so grand. There were a bunch of (what looked like junior high school) girls that didnt know much about the goods and they had to ask one another for the answers to my questions. Also, I asked one of them how the brownies are and she said she didnt eat them. Why not? Did she know something about them? Not a good sign that even the employees wont eat there. I took home a few different baked goods (as I desperately needed to impress my guests and didnt have time to drive to my usual bake shop) and was disappointed by the chocolate crumble. When I asked the girl if it was soft, she said yes. When I served them up they were VERY hard. Biscotti-like. I wonder if they were twice baked? Though I did like the eclaires, the guest did enjoy the brownies (which I warmed and served with ice cream.. who wouldnt), I was not impressed with the service and chocolate crumble cake/cookie thing. I may be back despite the rude, wildly uninformed counter help.

Ive been going here since about 1999. All cakes have been awesome, they made by 30th bday cake customized with a fishing pole and ocean background....soo Kool! The cannoli and custard filling was amazing....no cake left, :( ....I had 1 piece and the rest disappeared...everyone wanted more...so did I! I also love their pignoli cookies...I hope i spelled that correctly. It is moist and tasty just the way they should be! I do miss the other mini pastries they used to have, now there are different ones.. Now about customer service...I think it could use a little improvement with the various young ladies there...some are good and some are lost and seem like they are not interested in being a customer service representative. Even if you may not like someone, I think its your job to be courteous and polite in this industry...it goes a far way. That being said, sapienza is my go to bakery...u get what u pay for....and thats appreciated...thank you.

I have to say I was absolutely scared to death to go to this place after reading some pretty bad reviews. My experience was fantastic. The show (Wasabassco Burlesque) was great and the service was fast and attentive. The food was delicious. I had the fried Risotto balls, Angus Sliders, and Pizza, with the house Cabernet Sauvignon. I was not disappointed. Our water glasses were constantly full and we didnt have to ask twice for anything. They even had someone going around giving wine tastings! I definitely will be going back!

Stop in as I was getting ready to catch a flight back home to Virginia. My friend stopped here to get some baked goods. So I decided to by some pastries. And I have to the young lady at the counter was incredible with customer service. She took her time and explained and recommended some of the selection we mare. And all I have say is that these pastries were to die for. I will definitely keep shopping at your business when I am in town. Thank you , Victor Santiago

The most delicious chocolate cake with fudge filling in the WORLD!!!! NOT KIDDING! I specifically asked for MOIST chocolate cake and they nailed it. I know that most chocolate cakes may seem basic but Ive tried many different places and I am a chocolate lover so its pretty hard to please my chocolate cake cravings , but this was by far the best chocolate cake I have had in many many many years. Thank you! I am forever your customer.

I would like to say I bought several items today(Sfogliatelle, cookies and small pastries) and enjoyed everything, the young girls behind the counter, I found, were very informative and helpful. I live in Suffolk County and knew I would be out that way, I also had a Groupon. I will definitely have my husband stop on his way home from work, soon.

I went to buy some pastries on Sunday 4th in the evening, and Costumer service was horrible. The girl that I attended me was very rude like she didnt want to be there, it felt like it was a hassle for her to help me... I brought my friend with me and that only thing he said was that he would never go back in there.

First off...the bread is more than often freshly baked and smelling it...whoa...it really hits your palate. I love the fact that its not far away and the owner is very reasonable about pricing ☺. Now theyve added bagels to their menu of fresh baked... aww weeee!!!! Def locked in

I recently ordered a cake for 60+ people and it turned out great!!! It was a simple yellow with canoli cream and everyone at the party wanted seconds! I will definitely come back for any time I have a sweet tooth!

This bread factory makes great bread all day long. They dont have a store front, but they still sell to anyone. Its so cheap to get bread fresh off the line.
