I have been a waitress for 20 years and this is my first time ever writing a review. My boyfriend and I had dinner there last night everything was excellent! Smothered fries for a appetizer was a generous amount and was smothered just like it says on the menu, Prime rib was cooked perfect tender and juicy all the fixing were great to rice and coleslaw. I ordered pumpkin/ squash raviolis which is not something I would never normally order but every time I dine at The Grill Next Door I always try something different and Im always very pleased. It was delicious probably one of the most delicious meals Ive ever had!! The mix of flavors in the ravioli dish were like a Thanksgiving explosion in my mouth! Not only was the food outstanding but so was our service. Tina was our server it was her first night on the floor but we never would have known that if she didnt tell us. She seemed very comfortable and informative like shes worked there for a long time. Very friendly and attentive. Made our visit just perfect! Thanks Tina you were great! Well be back :)

First of all, the place is one of the only places around to get a good craft brew on tap if you live in the Methuen/Haverhill area. That alone would get it 3.5 stars from me. The real surprise is the FOOD. So far weve had a perfectly cooked white fish special, medium rare hamburger, Steak sandwich, chicken parm dinner and several fantastic appetizers. So safe to say weve tried a whole array of things from the menu and havent been disappointed yet. The price is reasonable and the atmosphere is not annoying like a lot of the Boston bars you go to for craft brews. If you forced me to pick some negatives, 1 would be that they roll the beers in and out pretty fast, so if you find one you really like it probably wont be around too long. But I understand why they have to do it. The hummus app was disappointing, it was too liquidy. You are far better off with some of the other apps. the buffalo chicken mac & cheese is sinfully good and so are the BBQ Chicken fries. youve been warned.

I went in for dinner, with company who had been once before. I must say if I was a beer drinker I perhaps could justify coming back, but since that is not the case I will not return. Upon arrival, I was not greeted by the young woman at the host stand. She appeared busy writing something down and it took me saying hello for her to murmur that shed be right with us. She ended up being our waitress, and was as impersonal and attentive as a server as a hostess. She appeared too busy to bother that I was unhappy with my meal for it was overwhelmingly citrus-y(Chicken Piccata). I only ate a few bites and she never asked why. Just rushed off with the plates. For the price I paid($15.99), I should have been pleased with my meal. I was in the restaurant business for enough years, and ALWAYS knew to ask if someone ate less than even half of their meal if it was satisfactory. Atmosphere was nice, but next time Ill pass on The Grill Next Door.

YUM!! The food is great. The beer selection is awesome. Only negative I can say is some servers can be unprofessional and a bit snippy about requests when it is really busy. The kitchen forgot to add bacon to the burger and the condiments on the table were empty. Unfortunately, I observed our waitress role her eyes with an annoyed expression when speaking to the cook about our request to have a burger recooked as it was overdone. Im fairly certain it was in regards to the request we made as she was gesturing toward our table when speaking to the cook . The cook brought the re cooked order over and looked completely put out by the request, no apology for the mistake. The cook had an awesome beard though! Even with this isolated negative experience I still highly recommend this Bar & Grill, the service is usually very good and the bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable about the beer selections on tap.

We had a great dinner here! It was Saturday night, so it was really busy and loud and we had to wait for a table. I had the broiled haddock and it was perfect. Flakey, delicious and no fishy taste. I had a spinach salad as my side - made exactly how I wanted it - and the baked mac and cheese. I can see why it has won awards! He had the surf and turf special and the steak was tender and delicious. He had the grilled veggies and he doesnt like mushrooms, so our waitress asked the cook to try to pick around them and not give him too many - there were no mushrooms on his plate. Excellent service! They have all these great micro brew beers on tap from all over and sometimes they have our hometown beer, Boulevard! Great place!

My wife and I stopped by this new restaurant the other night and it was great. If you enjoy a good beer this place is for you. They have like 40 micro brews on tap from all over the world. For food we had a bruschetta appetizer, that was really good, and for entrees I got a peppercorn cheddar burger that was out of this world. My wife got baked mac n chz that she hardly shared any of. I will be returning soon and often. Oh, and on the way out I ran in the store next door to grab some small stuff and realized that the beer selection in the store was the really honey hole. If your in the area stop by and check out these places, its simply amazing.

So many quality beers on tap. You can get a sampler of four 5oz beers for under ten bucks. The waitress who served us was very friendly and attentive. I had the classic burger with cheddar. it was perfectly cooked medium as ordered and very tasty. It came with a side of fantastic onion rings (not greasy). My wife had the turkey burger, which she said was not as good as she had hoped, but still good. They have a good thing. I wish they had outdoor seating.

So, I am now a regular at TGND and I have to say that they always keep it fresh!! This fall has been a beer lovers heaven and only promises to get better. There have been numerous pumpkin ales and oktoberfest beers coming and going since the begining of September. I love the food, and strongly recommend the steak n cheese egg rolls as an app. If you love good ole american comfort foods and have an appreciation for micro brew, this is the place for you!

We have attempted to eat here 3 times now and all three times we have been lied to about wait time. Dont lie to get people to wait it out...I called on my way there (I live 4 mins from the restaurant) and I called because of my last two trips and was told "oh no big wait at all, maybe 20mins" I pull into the parking lot, go in and get told 40min wait... If I knew tgat when I called I wouldnt have wasted my time showing up.
