(be sure to check the updates at the end of my review for the response from Lafayette House) When I made my reservation for Easter the woman was SO rude I should have known not to go....But we did. I chose the Lafayette House because I like the atmosphere and even though expensive, wanted a nice experience. We were literally herded like cattle to our table...woman at desk rude and wouldnt look up when she barked Wait at the bar or the entrance"...we waited in the bar and the man who came to round up up literally did the wrap it up sign and said rudely...wrap this up I have a table for 6 ready. :( everyone in my party was put off...tables were so jam packed into the room it was not enjoyable...servers were frazzled and there were so many people you couldnt walk. I felt like I was in a crowded cafeteria. They should not take so many reservations if they are compromising the service and experience like that. Not sure I got a smile from any staff there....bus boy came to our table so casual like dinner in my kitchen saying "you done?? YOU done??" as he reached across the table to get the plates. So upset....We pay for experience sometimes and if I wanted cafeteria experience I would have found one. I have to believe the staff would have been nicer. Actually the waitress did smile and did her best...but she was frazzled and didnt come back to check on us so I could tell her there was no bernnaise (sp?) sauce on my filet. But she did smile. The restaurant had a dirty smell or something that had 3 people in my party almost gagging.....I hear the Mens room was something really awful and disgusting AND then someone threw up walking out past 2 people in my party....not the restaurants fault but really added to the experience. Never again. UPDATE: I sent this review to the restaurant to let them know of my experience. The only response I got was from Ron" entitled Mens Room "Three kids were in the bath room at different times and threw up from eating to much Easter candy , did our best with that also some guest turned the fan off Sent from my iPhone " WOW. UPDATE AGAIN: I did not respond to Rons response and he sent me another email this morning: "By the way get the rest of the facts one waitress was in a car accident Saturday night and did not work , and one of our waitresses who worked on Sunday just buried her husband the previous week ! Yes I love people who always so quick to judge Sent from my iPhone"

They should be ashamed of Easter Dinner... OK, I get that on Easter they have a limited menu and choices as well as raised prices but they did that and more and did not even try with the food. The choices ranged from ham for 28 bucks to tenderloin for 36 or so, a small selection of the usual suspects. 28 bucks for ham and a couple bad sides you cannot chose is excessive I think. Your entre was the only choice. You got a small salad with only Italian dressing, really no choice of dressing even? The sides were cold pan roasted potatoes and carrots with a couple pees, no choices. The carrots were straight from a bag with no seasoning or sauce, barely.warm. Just pathetic, not even fresh carrots with a nice glaze and a little dill maybe? Not even close. The entres were basic catering variety. Baked Stuffed Shrimp, Filet Mignon, Baked Ham, Rack of Lamb, Baked Scrod, Roast Prime Rib, Everything was small, kind of basic and bland and looked like it sat for a while. I could see among the crowed of mostly senior citizens that other were not impressed with the food, one lady was mocking the baby carrots from the bag. Overall this was just a ripoff and I would not go back.

The food is good but overpriced. The ambiance is OK if youre into dark and dirty. Dont go into the mens room without a HAZMAT suit - I think the last time the thing was cleaned was 1785. Worst of all, the service is terrible - the "proprieter" has apparently never been trained in customer service. Dont even think of coming near this restaurant during an event at Gillette Stadium (which is just north on Route 1). In addition to traffic hassles, the manager will scream at you for using his lot for the game as soon as you pull in, rather than just asking, "will you be dining with us"? The negatives of customer service and cleanliness far outweigh any positives.

The Brunch on Mothers Day 2015 was exceptional. The servers were attentive and very pleasant. I have never seen a more comprehensive selection of food. Each food item was excellent. I attended with a large family , every accomadation was made for the young children as well as the elderly. I eat out often, usually in Boston. This restaurant certianly measures up to any Boston restaurant or hotel dining room.

Parking for an event was perfect. I arrived after the opening acts had started and my reserved spot was waiting for me, even though the lot was closed to people without reservations. The walk is about a mile, but after the show we went straight to the car, and drove straight out with ZERO traffic! Worth every penny.

We were a little disappointed. The service was very friendly, but not very fast. The apps were ok, the chicken marsala was so-so, at best. The best thing I can say is that the tips were very good. Probably wont go out of my way to go back, but I will likely go back, at least for drinks.

The owner is a a racist and repeatedly used foul language in front of my wife and 2 young children. The food is mediocre and I have seen them refilling the top shelf liquor. I will never go there again for any reason. There are many better options in the area.

It pains me to only give this 3 stars. It should be 5, it used to be 5. The food has changed significantly. It is so far from what it used to be. I used to frequent this place and live close. I hope they can restore the magic in the kitchen

We the people do declare that this facility takes what Ben and Jerrys started and transforms it into a colonial wonder garden that harkens f yeah to all passerbys in need of comfort or fish fillets

A true secret. Great little pub in the back with some free munchies and the food in the restaurant is always perfect. Slabs of Prime Rib cut for Fred Flintstone and reasonably priced.

I tried to pull in to eat during a pats game and was hassled by people parking cars on their lot for a game. I drove right out of there.

Cozy and warm. Perfect spot for a date. I went just for a drink before going out at Patriot Place. Service was quick and friendly.
