Located on Newbury Street, Wabora is a decent restaurant with a very cool dessert. They serve a mix of food, from noodles to sushi. Heres the breakdown: Atmosphere: The restaurant is pretty small, able to fit maybe 15-20 people max. The tables are positioned quite close to other people, so be prepared to get close and personal! The decor is pretty much the same as any other sushi restaurant, wooden tables, sushi bar seating and the likes. Food: The food is decent but presented very well. I consider it pretty expensive though compared to many other restaurants Ive been to, although its not surprising considering they are located on Newbury Street. Only thing I tried here is the Sushi, but mainly came for the dessert. We got the Melon Shaved Ice, which came with Honey Dew Balls on top of shaved ice and condensed milk. The dessert was beautiful, but was short lived. It is literally, just honey dew balls and condensed milk shaved ice. I wish they added a flavoring to the ice, but this is something to try at least once. They also have a Pineapple Shaved ice as well, with pineapple balls. Service: They service was good, the waitress seated us quickly and served everything quite fast. When we needed her she was around and did not need constant flagging down. She also made came back and made sure we have everything and made sure everything was good. Overall: Great food, but expensive. Would definitely recommend to come for the dessert at least once. Its pretty much all presentation, but the honey dew was pretty sweet.

Wabora is a cute, authentic Japanese restaurant that serves a variety of rolls, noodle bowls, and Hawaiian shaved iced. The sitting was quite intimate but the food and service were excellent. While waiting for my friend, I ordered a Hot Green Tea. My friend Randy B. ordered three spicy rolls (Titan Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, and Volcano Roll) while I ordered two sweet rolls (Yam Roll, Mango Roll). The Yam Roll consisted of deep fried yam sticks wrapped in seaweed, rolled in rice and drizzled with a sweet soy sauce. Instead of getting the Shrimp Tempura Roll, I decided to get The Mango Roll, which consisted of two shrimp tempura, crabmeat, avocado, and cucumber wrapped in seaweed, rolled in rice, topped with fresh, thinly sliced mango, and drizzly with a creamy and tangy sweet and sour sauce. Since my friend Randy B. wasnt a pineapple fan and I wasnt a melon fan, we decided to share a Red Bean Shaved Iced, which consisted of snow like shaved ice, topped with red bean and mochi, drizzled with condensed milk, and served in a tea mug. It was the perfect portion after stuffing our faces with sushi!

The tea and the sushi were a delight but the soup ruined the entire meal. For the same price as the sushi, I would have expected something better tasting - the spicy chicken soup was worse than a packet of instant noodles. The soup tasted like water (there was no flavour, it looked as if it was just water and some chili oil had been added), the chicken was hard and there was no other ingredients in the soup other than floating egg pieces and strands of bamboo shoots. Asian fusion? If you cant master and incorporate some of the Asian cuisines, dont put it on your menu. On a side note, great servers though.

i dont know what people are on about. ive been there three times. each time with a groupon. service was good, second time around the waitress came back with the bill saying the tip wasnt enough which was our mistake we didnt realise we had to tip on the whole bill not the groupon price, but i thought it was weird that she did it. however the sushi is actually really good. the rolls are amazing, they came out presented on a boat. will definitely go again and take more people!

The Boston roll and the yellowtail roll were great. While the price is not cheap, it could be considered inexpensive when you realize its in the heart of Back Bay. Sapporo on tap is nice, sake is OK. I was there for dinner and lots of students were there getting dessert. They serve these melon bowls with shaved ice and melon scoops filling the center. Seemed like a popular choice so I assume its tasty. Service was good, easy to make a reservation as well.

This is a new place that opened up near my work. The owners were so nice and welcoming. They provided suggestions for us and also brought out a sauce for us to try with our order. My boyfriend and I tried their WABORA --- Asian Fusion Bistro and it was super good! Been waiting for a place with sushi burritos to come around and now its finally here. The portions are great and their bowls look amazing. Will definitely Be coming back.

I had the maguro, tamago and cucumber sushi. All really good! Followed by the red bean shaved ice, which is absolutely huge and so good for sharing, though I attempted to tackle it by myself. Tasted brilliant but, alas, it is too much for one person. Not that that should put you off from trying it! Has a casual atmosphere with super friendly and attentive staff and a constant playlist of Korean pop music on in the background.

Came with a party of ~16 people. They forgot my order and I had to wait until 15 minutes after everybody else already got their food and started eating. The waitress was nice about it though, and brought a bunch of complimentary gyoza for the trouble. As for the food, it was just okay. A lot of the other people in my party were also unimpressed. It definitely didnt seem like it was worth the $15-$20 that most dishes cost.

Poor service and crappy food. We tasted dishwashing detergent throughout the meal. The waitor kept placing dangerously hot dishes in front of our baby despite our multiple requests. That was after being asked for a baby safe cup, yet bringing out a ceramic mug.... At the end while cleaning up the baby, was told (not asked) rudely to sign the check... They just dont deserve our business.

Disclaimer: bit of a sushi snob. Good sushi, just not phenomenal. Korean owned so theres good Korean food also. I think the waitress was expecting me to speak Korean but when I spoke English, it was like she couldnt handle it. Good thing I spoke Korean. Otherwise, prompt service, good food, fairly priced. This is actually my second time I have visit this restaurant and repeated my order. I find it addicting and really filling. Very friendly staff and great service. Highly recommended.

Great spot for really good food! Had the lunch boxes. Different people in our party tried different rolls and we were all pleased with each selection. Service was fantastic as well. We will back whenever around that part of town.

Best place on newbury st. In Boston for sushi rolls, nigiri, iced desserts and many more!! Ambient inside atmosphere with modern interior. Great for both casual days or date nights. Cozy and resting patio view!

Too busy focusing on deliveries, the kitchen forgot one of our dishes, and the same thing happened to the people sitting next to us. That, and the food isnt great. Go to InBoston on Mass Ave instead.

Fish was top quality and very fresh. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. The best sushi restaurant around and their Korean dishes are far better than any restaurant in New England.
