I work in the seaport area and I have visited the Whiskey Priest a few times this week, First I had a good experience with a pregnant woman whos a bartender there she was awesome and so is the young woman who served me the next day, but today 7/28/16 I had the ABOSOLUTE WORSE BARTENDER there is in that place. I didnt get his name but he was so rude to me, I requested a chicken quesadilla with chicken and cheese only and salsa and sour cream on the side, I ordered this meal 3 days straight I just love the way your chef makes it, but he was confused about the order so he picked up the menu to see what was I requesting I mean how hard is it for you to comprehend chicken quesadilla with chicken and cheese only????? so while he was searching the menu I said to him"I had this yesterday" in the most polite manner ever and he told me to "RELAX"? relax for what Im not being rude I not being loud and belligerent, so then he walked away and put my order in, but wait! because of his attitude did he even think to ask me if I wanted a glass of water while I wait like everyone else who wanted food in there? NO....he did not, so I turned around and noticed two workers preparing forks and spoons so I politely went to them and asked if they wouldnt mind bringing me a glass of water so a (Heavy set) woman walked around the bar and brought me the water, so I politely thanked her and she didnt say your welcome or anything she seemed pissed that I asked her to bring me water like its not "her job". smh so then my food comes out and I hear the woman and the guy talking about my food so that only meant they were talking about me........long story short and this message goes out to the OWNER and the GM and anyone else who over sees the day crew PLEASE tell them to fix their attitudes when they come to work, if they dont want to deal with people then they need to find some other kind of work as a Young BLACK WOMAN I deserve the same RESPECT as anyone whos comes into that bar. oh and FYI I never drank the water who knows if she spat in it....:-/ I wouldnt suggest this place to ANYONE!

This review is based on the nightlife portion only. I never ate at the whiskey priest. I was as the Whiskey Priest for the first (and last) time ever on Friday night the 21st. I was visiting from out of town and figured it looked like an average Boston bar to check out. I was visiting from out of town (NJ) for the weekend. The bar itself was okay and the live was music wasnt bad (albeit, a cover required). The night took a turn for the worse when I put my arm around my friend (not even near a violent motion) and was tackled by a bouncer and thrown out of the bar. Mind you, Im not a large person (56, 160lbs) , pretty sure they could have just asked us to leave but rather, they chose to tackle me to floor and break my glasses. Somehow, my friend was able to find my broken glasses frame on the floor and my pick up my lens. Basically, in a great city like Boston with so many options, I would avoid an establishment that finds it okay to just tackle customers without cause and without warning. Perhaps we were being targeted because we were from out of town. Either way, I would never return and would never recommend coming here for the nightlife. Sincerely, Avi R

Rude bar tenders, 4:30 Last Friday my husband were in town for a night out. We met @ Whiskey Priest. As soon as we walked in the smell of a dirty bar area was overwhelming. We sat at the bar for at least 8-10 minutes, (we sat by the fruit garnishes which were turning brown, with a cloud of fruit flys swarmed the tray of fruit.) While 1 bartender stood in front of us with his back to us as he scrolled on his phone, 2nd bartender made eye contact and turned and walked away, finally the 3rd bartender came over, acted as if we were interrupting him. Made a vodka and mostly tonic water, and a Pumpkin beer that was nasty, after 2 small sips I couldnt drink any more. When I told the bartender that the beer tasted bad, maybe the lines should be cleaned. He shrugged his shoulders and took the money for the check without another word. As a person who has worked in several restaurants/bars over the years. I have experience knowing the smells, cleanliness standards and passable behavior. I will NEVER return to or recommend Whiskey Priest to anyone. Unless I feel the need to punish someone.

I was here Friday night, May 30th, 2014. There was a small line to get in which made the bar look appealing. It has a cool, energetic night scene and atmosphere - located right on the water. The staff (bartenders) were friendly and prompt, and made great drinks. The live music was great as well. Unfortunately though, it only takes one bad experience to ruin a great night. That experience was the unprofessionalism of the doormen/bouncers (with the exception of one at the front); acting more like thugs as opposed to facilitators - I was "persuaded" to leave because of standing by the door, looking for a friend entering. When I explained I had paid the door fee and showed my admit one ticket - I was harassed until being guided out. Despite purchasing two (might I add delicious) drinks at the bar, I was bit disappointed that such a great, 4-STAR experience, could be ruined by unnecessary unprofessionalism. If I had gone during the day, seeing as the doormen wouldnt be there, I would recommend this bar. I will be back... eventually.

Location wise, over the water this place is good. Food was decent, not exceptional but what do you expect. The whiskey collection is vast, but we didnt try to order any of it. We walked in for an afternoon lunch and was seated immediately. The worst was sitting there for 20mins, with no waitress in sight. Actually, there were some waitresses but they ignored us. We actually had to get up to ask a hostess to bring a waitress over. And then, after we ordered, we got our food pretty quick which was a plus. But then, our waitress disappeared again and of course, when we finished, we waited for her to get our check. Again, we had to ask the hostess to bring her over to give us our check. Worse service ever. Even worse than Dick Last Resort, which is surprising since their bad service is on purpose. If you do go, go to the bar. At least theres actually someone there all the time.

absolute worst...was there on a saturday afternoon...after sitting ourselves at a table a waiter said he would be "right with you in a minute"...add 33min to his min and then we had our server...2 menus were given..we were told we could order food off of small menu only....larger menu which had food selections could only be used for drinks...???...food menu looked horrid..to sum it up there were 2 burger plates ordered ....both served cold with ppotato chips they deemed as fresh...drinks were blah...waiter taking drink order never heard of wild turkey bourbon or glen levitz.....one of our drinks was bourbon and cola...waiter forgot to add cola so i actually went to the bar myself and added the cola located near waiters station....do not goto this place..keep walking to remys or seaport hotel bar/restaurant..ps...3 beers 2 mixed drinks 2 burger plates..75 dollars????....
