I didnt particularly enjoy my time at Boston Tavern at all. I came here with my fiancé and as we entered one of the greeters said "Are you kidding me?" Out loud to the greeter next to her. She overlooked us and the other greeter, after a short time of us standing there, asked if we were going to be seated for two. We were advised there was a 40 minute wait. We chose to wait the 40 minutes. Things seemed to be fine until we heard the greeters saying our number was next, but may have realized we had that number and chose to let other couples (parties of 2) be seated before us, when they clearly entered the restaurant 15-20 minutes after us. I remained positive and patient and watched them do it 3 times. Id like to remind you that we had already previously heard them say we were next. Nonetheless, they skipped our number, and began calling numbers that were at least 3 places after ours. After I approached the greeters, we were seated shortly thereafter. In total, we waited for one hour. It didnt get better when we were seated. The waitress was very cold, she took our orders for drinks, eventually an appetizer and NEVER CAME BACK TO TAKE OUR ORDER FOR ENTREES. Not once during the 45 mins we waited, did she take orders for our entrees. She laughed and spoke with all of the other guests at tables she waited on next to ours. She passed our table many times and we had to flag her down to get her attention- at this point we just asked for our check. Our money is just as good as anyone elses and I refuse to use my momey where it is not welcome. The food was average and the drinks were average. Not worth your time or money, not a friendly or fair atmosphere.

My family and I wanted to treat my husband to a prime rib dinner for his birthday and we chose to try the Boston Tavern. My son found your website and we were impressed enough to make the 30 minute trip. Although I left a message on the back of our receipt, I just want to make sure that you know what a wonderful experience this was for us. We loved the atmosphere and the photos. (We are devoted Red Sox fans) The booth was actually comfortable and left enough wiggle room for those of us who are not "toothpicks". The menu offered more variety than any other menu weve ever seen. Our waitress, Ashley, was wonderful. She was very friendly, helpful and efficient. The food arrived quickly and it was incredible! We started off with the nachos and not one crumb was left on the plate! We had 3 prime rib dinners for my husband, my son and myself (my 1st time trying prime rib and I am hooked!) and my grandson tried an appetizer sampler. Everything was perfect! Our thanks to your exceptional cook! My only regret is that my other grandson (on a school trip to NY) and my daughter (Ashley) were unable to join us. We always celebrate Ashleys birthday with her dads because they are 1 day apart. Anyway, we were all so pleased with our visit to Boston Tavern that we will be back as often as we can. It is my #1 favorite restaurant. We will recommend the Boston Tavern to everyone. Thank you again for making our celebration a deliciously unforgettable one! Sincerely, The Greenleaf family

I have no idea why this restaurant is always so busy. This restaurant is disgustingly dirty. From when you first walk in you can see that the floor is not clean. Booths salt and pepper shaker menus are all dirty and I wiped down. If you watch the bartenders that are too busy trying to look younger than they are and flirt with the patrons, they do not handle all the glassware properly. I said at the bar the other day and watch them pull glasses down with their fingers inside of the glasses. They also do not handle the wine glasses by the stem. Their food is boring boring boring. The presentations are not inspired at all. They offer free soup at lunchtime and put out coffee mugs because they dont have an adequate number of soup bowls. That should tell you something about the management of this facility. Popular with the locals but I think its definitely a place for people with low standards. If the front of the house is so dirty I can imagine what the kitchen looks like.

OMG its New Years Day 2017 and your open for cocktails & food. Can you really ask for much more? On the way home from a New Years Day celebration we stopped in for a quick bite and tasty beverage. Now seeing this place was jammed packed by other New Englanders we were delighted to be seated right away. Menu was not complicated cause we anticipated our needs. We shared an appetizer of Buffalo Wings & Steak tips. Wings were seasoned perfectly with just enough kick to burn the lips but still enjoy. Steak Tips were marinated in there house sauce and bursted with flavor and not over cooked. A perfect medium was what I asked for and received. Id say the second best steak tips Ive ever eaten in New England. Im serious these tips were amazing chunks of tenderized beef.

Ive been to the Boston Tavern now 3 times. Im thinking I should have stopped after the 2nd time. I ordered the Daisy Mae southern fried chicken, which came out coated in cornflakes. (Not southern) sent it back and ordered the chicken mac and cheese it came out cold. Our server tried to be pleasant enough. I will say Ive never questioned service here before tonight. Im guessing what was supposed to be a manager came over and briskly said, "we took the item off your bill." And he then proceeded to walk away. I really wanted to like this place since I drive 40 minutes to eat here and it has greatly disappointed and thats just disappointing.

Too cold and the music was too loud. Greasy pub food that is disguised as fusion, but falls way short. No one in our table of 4 enjoyed this meal. Salads were okay. Waitress began by telling a member of our party that she looked like her dead mother. Were planning on having dessert, but after entrees decided to cut out losses. Flavors were all off and sweet potato fries were overdone and not what youd expect. Serving sizes were generous (not that youd want to eat it)and price was on the higher end of what youd expect. All in all Id avoid this greasy tacky mess. The Market Basket across the street would have been better.

I am a frequent customer here. I always get the same thing and never have an issue. However last night i went in and got a crazy manny burger, as did my guest, both burgers came over cooked. Mine i ordered mid rare and it came out charred to the point that it was unedible and well done. I asked to speak to the server or manager. Most restaurants would send the manager over however the server came and apologized sent my burger back got me a new one and still charged me. Didnt make any attempt to make me or my guest happy. I was very dissapointed with the service and food. Idk if i will ever make it back after this one.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE IF YOU ARE BLACK. Very very very racist. Waited for over 1 hr to be seated. Theres an old racist greeter who sat people who came in after my date and I. Once we were finally seated our waitress never took our order after drinks. She instead ignored us and had conversations with other random people until we flagged her down. We never ordered our meal, I just asked for the check and left. As we were leaving, the younger greeter had to apologize for the older racists behavior. This place should be shut down....NEVER AGAIN!!!
