BON-CHON!! It immediately makes me think of double battered crispy chicken strips, flavored the half & half way...which is the ONLY way to best experience these chicken strips...if its even legal to call them that? Basically, there is a very real and purposeful reason for including Chicken in the BonChon name...and its because it is THAT good! I have never gone here and not ordered their chicken. I mean, I may order a sushi roll to accompany the chicken, but I would never desert it entirely, yes Im personifying this dish due to my close relation with it, if I could I would adopt BonChons Chicken as my meal of choice! If youve never been here before you may be questioning what I meant by the half & half way...well its their original chicken with both of their original flavors! One half covered in SOY-GARLIC (yes it has pieces of actual minced garlic, none of that powdered seasoning stuff!) and the other half drenched in HOT...which Ive gotta say is pretty straightforward but they might as well re-name it FIRE BREATHING DRAGON due to the reality of how HOT this sauce actually is and because that is exactly what youll feel like when youve inhaled two or three pieces of this flavor! Trust me youll be uttering the words "more water" before you know it! Trendy decor lends an upscale feel to an otherwise casual restaurant...although the music they play can and probably will leave you questioning the origins of BonChon Chicken, Asian or American? I can tell you that like the hit music they play, they are definitely a HIT!

As a customer, I will never go back to place. I did a take out order and had the most unpleasant experience. There was because a young woman who pick up the phone and at the counter around noon on Apr 18th 2015. She sounded annoyed from the beginning one phone and in person, she made sure that I have the worst lingering bad feeling about this place. I had to do long distance driving that day and has been felt bad all afternoon while driving. Chicken was usual, but there are other Korean chicken place around in Allston, so I will never go back this place unless she formally apologize and change her attitude( the owner let go of her) Especially for korean folks, I strongly recommend to avoid this place and look for other korean chicken. Chicken taste is not worth the bad experience you can face one day or anther.

The fried chicken at Bon Chon is the best I have ever had. There is a good amount of meat on the bones and the skin is fried to perfection. The chicken wings are crispy and full of flavor and are great for sharing at the table. They have sushi and other options as well, but they are really known for the fried chicken. They serve beer and liquor and have an assortment of Saki drinks as well. Get there early and make sure to call ahead if you are planning to get the chicken strips, as they run out from time to time. I took off one star because the host inaccurately quoted the wait time and they dont allow reservations so you they tell you its a 20 minute wait but you end up waiting 45 minutes instead.

I made a large order (nearly $500) JUST THE DAY BEFORE to be picked up by 12:45 PM on 11/30 (I had requested 12:30, and the caller requested that we change it to 12:45), and when my pickup staff arrived 15 minutes early, Bonchon HADNT STARTED EVEN COOKING YET. Their servers were not apologetic in the least, and I will make sure to steer clear of this particular branch in the future, at least until it gets its house in order. I believe Bonchon should hire or train competent people who can actually take a pre-order without forgetting, and such an experience indicates to me that Bonchon does not have the professionalism nor the organization to accommodate more than personal orders.

The best way to catch up with an old friend is to pick a restaurant you both love and dont have to obsess over menu choices - that would only get in the way of funny stories from your recent "hard living." I went with Pink Floyd maki and immediately wondered if Roger Waters and Nick Mason ever fought over a sushi and Saki. I doubt if Syd Barrett ever had tuna salmon tobiko advocado scallions spicy mayo - he was a bit crazy but probably stuck to English pub food with the LSD. Excellent sushi was only topped only by famous Korean style spicy wings that kick and crisp like a fine Pink Floyd guitar solo. Fun to catch up with a good friend and feast!

I used to like that place until the last time when manager complained on front of my gf that I left less than 15% tips. And he was standing waiting for an explanation from me even after I said "everything was good". Honestly, how much do you pay to your kitchen guys for their great job? $35-50/hour? Im sure that no more than $12-14. And how much do I have to leave to the server for her 5 minutes attention to my table? I left $6. Not enough from my $44 dollar bill? $4 of which were taxes :/ Sorry. Ill fix it next time. Ill go to another place. Good luck!

I went with a large group and split the jumbo wing platter. We split the wings between the spicy and not spicy and I have to say the spicy wings were my favorite. The mild ones were a bit too sweet for my taste. The wings were perfectly succulent. The skin was crispy, greasy and the meat was moist and flavorful. Our wings cam with some sides that included pickled vegetables and coleslaw. Both were very tasty and paired well with the chicken. The beer at Bon Chon is SO CHEAP. They have pitchers for less than $15 which is great for Boston.

The food is unbelievable. My Filipino girlfriend had the Japchae and said the glass noodles were cooked perfectly. I had the Bibimbop with steak which was one of the best meals Ive ever had, and a new favorite. Everything tasted authentic and the presentation made the experience even better. We had the chicken strips as an appetizer, they all had enough meat on them and the smallest dish (9-10 pieces) was more than enough. The beer was cold and fresh, their Sam Adams is an IPA. I will absolutely go there again whenever I have the chance!

It was a disappointing dining experience. Me and my friends were used like to eat there, but last time one of the server was unprofessional at all for dealing with our comment or complaint if youd like to call it about fried chicken wings. So the chicken was too salty to eat. We thought that the server would be appreciated if we could give this feedback . However, it turned out that she said, "you are the first table think its salty." And she didnt do anything at all besides charging us gratuities. We will not go back there any more!

This is was my first time trying Bonchon chicken and the food was extremely disappointing. I ordered buffalo wings. They way too spicy it felt like someone just lit a match in my mouth it was ridiculous. My fries were undercooked and my moms garlic wings were cold. The staff although is nice which is probably why I am giving this restaurant another star. Overall not coming back here anytime soon. Also this was a month ago and I am posting this review now so sorry I am a little late
