This is the worst place to get authentic Vietnamese sandwich and worst customer service. I got 2 cold cut sandwiches for the 1st time and forgot to tell the lady who made them that I want spicy at the time I placed my order with her. First, it is NOT selling real authentic Vietnamese sandwich here. There are only 2 types of cold cut meat in the sandwich and only 3 slices of each type which didnt even cover the full length of the bread itself. The REAL sandwich should have at least 3 types of cold cut meat in addition to the butter and the soy sauce. They are also the meat spread. I had to pay extra $1 to get additional 3 slices of the 2 types of cold cut meat that she put in. The best thing is that when I mentioned to her I also want spicy, she literally told me that I have to yell her at the time I placed the order or else I wont get it next time (even though I told her when she was about to make the 2nd sandwich). Seriously, how hard is it to take it out of the bag to add the red peppers for 1 sandwich that she already made? And please, there wont be "next time"! For my 1st purchase here, it is a ripped off for $9.50 for just 2 cold cut sandwiches, especially when I will end up eating just "bread /flour". For those who gave good reviews on this place, a suggestion for all of you - please ensure that you go and try other places that sell Vietnamese sandwich in Chinatown first and that you know what it really called as "real authentic Vietnamese sandwich".

I was in the Tufts Medical Center area and had remembered reading about this super cheap but delicious sandwich place so decided this would be a great time to check it out. It was not very busy. All the prices had clearly risen but everything still seemed very cheap. I went with the vegetarian duck sandwich but it seemed most people were getting the bbq beef. The vegetarian eel also looked good but was only available with rice and I was looking for a sandwich. The sandwich came quickly and the bread was nice and crispy. It had a great duck flavor, I just wish it had a bit more of it. Maybe I should ask for it spicy but I found despite great ingredients a bit of a lack of flavor. However I am not complaining I got a whole sandwich for $3.75. I love so many other places in Chinatown that I am not sure I will return but it was definitely worth the price! A little update: I am officially addicted to this place their spicy bbq sandwich is always a hit and I will continue to come back and so cheap. Paired with a red bean bun makes the perfect Chinatown meal!

Banh mi for lunch! Its a tiny place, there were only 4 customers when I got there. Ordered a beef sandwich, spicy; She had it ready in a minute; it was $3! Bad things first; bread was a baguette and was a little dry for my taste. It wasn’t a big meal; but was big enough to be filling. Worked for me as some meals in Chinatown are too big for me. Filling was great with flavorful thinly sliced bbq beef, and fresh onions, carrots, cilantro, cucumber and spicy Mayo. Since I asked for spicy, she added some green chilies which were awesome. All in all, Nice light meal for $3! I will go again :)

We were so excited to find a quality 163 Vietnamese Sandwich joint in the neighborhood! Delightful people, fresh ingredients, delicious sammies! The only improvement we can think of is an option for lemongrass beef and ability to add fried eggs to the 163 Vietnamese Sandwich!! And they are usually out of pork. UPDATE: Natalie now roasts a pork very Friday!

Great place! I try and stop by here a few times a month. Though the prices have gone up from the time when I used to live nearby...still a solid stop for a quick snack or lunch. I am vegetarian so the veggie chicken works for me :) they also have an array of other veggie sandwiches which Ive never cared to try.

Tasty sandwiches for a good price. You wont go wrong with the BBQ Beef. Their Spring Rolls are a good deal too. They dont have many tables so plan on getting it to go or arm wrestling someone for a seat.

The banh mis here are super fresh with crispy, delicious bread, perfectly pickled veggies and decent meats. They also offer premade noodle, eggroll and other wonton lunches for a decent price.

163 is probably one of the cheapest banh mi sandwiches in boston. Grab a beef or pork sandwich and head out to a park to eat, there isnt really any seating.

Cheap, cash only, take out sandwich shop. Sandwiches are bread heavy but tasty, the fresh spring rolls are really good. Good place if youre in a hurry.

Place is great for sandwiches to take out. It is small so eating there is cumbersome, but everything else makes up for it. Thank you

Spot for a quick and very affordable snack or meal. The barbecue beef in my Vietnamese sub was delicious, but the sub roll was stale.
