I had a livingsocial coupon that I had to use ($6 for $15 worth of food, whatup!)...but boy...very blah food. We had: 1. Pulled chicken sandwich + mashed potatoes + coleslaw (approx $8) -Pulled chicken was dry -Coleslaw was tasteless -Mashed potatoes were solid 2. Rib sandwich + mashed potatoes + green beans (approx $8) -Ribs were dry and overcooked. The meat was way too burnt and even after chewing for minutes, it hurt my throat to swallow the food -The "rib sandwich" was really three of the aforementioned ribs, still on the bone, placed between two slices of white bread. Im not sure how youre supposed to eat this as a sandwich, so I just ate the ribs and discarded the bread -The green beans were TERRIBLE! Sour! Ew! Do NOT even think about ordering these -Again, mashed potatoes were solid We also ordered a couple servings of cornbread, which was not terrible, but not as moist as I would have liked. Overall verdict? Redbones is better. Sorry!

VISITED 8-15-10: I do much traveling for a living, this place was recommended so I had to give it a try since I wasnt too far from the area. Overall...I LOVED EVERYTHING from the mashed potatoes, BBQ beans, corn bread and 1/2 order of ribs on my combo meal for under 20 bucks! My favorite experience was being able to mix all the sauces and come up with something very hot and spicy just the way I like! I cried with the joy of habanero sauce! Since I mentioned I was a new customer and asked for recommendations, worker were very helpful in guiding to what is popular. Being from Chicago,Im used to caramel color BBQ sauce. Here, the sauce and texture of ribs reminded me of southern style ribs where the sauce is yellowish. I had southern style BBQ experience here with a doggy bag to remind me again at the hotel. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I decided to go to the Arlington location based on the reviews from other people on Google. I ordered the Duo Combo with Ribs and Sausage. The Sausage was good and had the right amount of spice in it. The ribs were hard and cold. The cornbread was very dry and burnt. The collar greens were edible. The sweet tea was water-down and not sweet at all. The worse part is that my party and I saw mice in the establishment near the soda station. Another customer saw it too. When I went to discard my trash the mice came from under the trash running towards me. I notified the employees working there, and they looked a me and kept working. I guess they are used to seeing it. Avoid eating here at all possible cause. GROSS!!

Extremely solid BBQ with a variety of sauces to suit fans of multiple styles. While Blue Ribbon doesnt really specialize in any one type of barbeque (Texas Beef, for example, or North Carolina Pulled Pork), they cross state borders quite nimbly and do a very good rendition of all the favorites. I especially like their ribs (done dry rub, with a sauce baste at the end if desired), as well as their potato salad (not sweet at all, but vinegary enough to cut through the richness of the meat, just like good BBQ potato salad should be) and cole slaw. Wish their mac and cheese was an every day menu item instead of an occasional special, but when you see it, order it!

The aroma of slow cooked BBQ hits you when you walk in. The owner definitely knows what hes doing. I ordered the 1/2 Slab Platter (Memphis style dry-rubbed) with the chili cheese grits and potato salad. I got the sweet sauce and it rocked! They had a jug you could go get more if you wanted. I havent had many grits before. These were full of flavor and not too spicy. Im a wimp when it comes to spicy stuff. The meat meat was nice and tender. The potato salad tasted like Grandmas. The staff was friendly too and the owner took some time to talk to us. Id definitely go back!

Its not just the great barBQ, Blue Ribbon has genuine southern-style collard greens, black eyed peas, and cornbread. Unless you are a big eater, one BBQ pulled pork sandwich will feed two average persons, especially with a side of greens. There are some tables in front for eating in good weather, but this is a take-out place. Arlington street parking may be a problem, but there is a Stop & Shop across the street. Prices are actually cheap when you consider portion size.

Wanted to have them come out and do our Christmas Luncheon, Called to see if they have some type of small sample for my boss to try.(since he is paying) Was told that the only way he could try if he came in and BOUGHT a few platters. Are you serious??? Company was planning on spending well over a $1,000.00. Guess we will take our money to another company who would be willing to have him try 2-3 small samples of something. Red bone Restaurant here we come.......

Burnt Ends, squash and buttery mashed potatoes --- excellent, the Texas Beef Brisket Sandwich was way too dry and the cole slaw side, fresh and crisp, was too bland. The key lime pie was enjoyable but lacked key lime assertiveness and seemed filler-ed. So . . . disappointed by the inconsistency. Next visit: Burnt Ends sandwich was good; the cornbread was well-flavored but dry; corn pudding very good; creole cabbage excellent, ribs fine but fatty.

MMMMM Blue Ribbon. This is seriously some of the best barbeque in the Boston area, and after living in Texas and having a southern father, I dont give that title up easily. But really, firstly, the food is great. Who cares about decor, youre there for the meat. Service? You stand in line, place your order, get your order. Sit if you want to, leave if you want to. It doesnt matter, youre there for the barbeque. And you wont be disappointed.

I really like this place. The mashed potatoes are the best around, the "burnt ends" are delicious, and all of the homemade sauces are definitely worth a try! I like the vinegar based one. Im not that adventurous of an eater when it comes to spicy food, but those who are might enjoy all of the other sauces! Very laid-back atmosphere, ordering is easy, as is to-go. Theres also always parking, which is a huge plus.

This is my new fav bbq place in all of metro west. Weve tried them all (I think?) and keep coming back. The burnt ends are where its at. I love getting to pick my sides, the collard greens and mashed potatoes are amazing but they always switch it up with beet salads and all kinds of things. The corn breads kinda dry and there isnt enough seating, but take out is fast and they have pickles!

I am actually writing this about their awesome Barbeque sauce. I have not eaten at Blue Ribbon Barbeque would like to try the Barbeque sometime it will have to be whenever I am in Cali as I am currently in MA. I was at Whole foods smokehouse grill for lunch and discovered it there. It is the best sauce I have ever found and believe me I have searched and it is the best.
