What an awful experience! We brought our out-of-town guest here and we were so mortified by the terrible customer service. We ordered baked ziti for our child and asked them to hold the tomato sauce. "Just cheese," we asked. All the dishes came out and we were still waiting for his which came finally laden with meat-- our vegetarian son could not eat. Our waitress apologized profusely but said that if we wanted to get another dish of ziti noodles with cheese, we had to pay for the meat dish or else her pay would be docked. We couldnt believe it. When we went to pay our bill, I explained to the manager that we never expected meat on the baked ziti. "Its your fault that we didnt ask if there was meat and if I were a vegetarian I would make sure to ask," she said. She took out the menu to show us the items description, only to be proven wrong. The dish does not describe it with meat. She resentfully offered to take 1/2 off the price of the undesired entree. The staff knows my husband who frequents this place weekly. We couldnt believe what we were hearing. We left terribly disappointed. As we got into the car and in full view of us, we saw the manager yelling at our waitress. It wasnt her fault. Why would you squabble over a few dollars and lose a regular customer as well as that of his co-workers? And this over a dish that costs the restaurant so little to prepare--noodles and cheese? You can be certain that I will not step foot in there again!

Like many deli whose main clientele is family/seniors, everything here is lukewarm, from drinks, soups to meals. The pickle bar (free for dine-in) is the best feature in my opinion. We each ordered a cup of hot cocoa, and the waiter asked "with water or milk?", we said "with milk". We thought both were $1.69, apparently they cost $3.99 each with milk (or not, since I couldnt find it anywhere on the menu). Then we had a cup Matzoh ball soup and chilli ($3.99 each), both were only so-so. My companion ordered a #1 pastrami sandwich ($8.99) and he liked it. I ordered roast beef grill ($9.99) and the beef was rather chewy. My meal supposedly came with chips, but since I ordered a side of french fries ($2.99), I didnt see the chips or get any discount on the side. My companion ordered a side of onion rings for $1.99. I felt both had way too much coating and too cold for fried food. Didnt feel the waiters there care to tell you the price difference or they simply ignore it and overcharge whenever they can. So basically the meal is okay, but you MUST check you bill!!! We were celebrating that day, so we didnt bother to argue. But they should know better than cheat customers money! Besides, the price is way too high for what feels like microwaved meals anyways.

Food is definitely not up to par in this day and age. Run of the mill deli food is made worse by the lack of caring in prep. Quality assurance is non-existent as meals appear to be dumped on the plate. Im not looking for visually stunning dishes here, just something that doesnt look like it fell on the floor before getting to me. Portions are extremely small for the price (a cheesesteak on an 8" roll is nearly $10, and only comes with chips. Fries are $1.99 extra.) Wanted to try this places sausage gravy (which was poor, tasted like paste with no sausage flavor even though it was there) but after ordering my server returned from the kitchen to say they dont have biscuits. I went ahead and got it on toast not being able to decide on anything else, but seriously, a deli doesnt have biscuits? You have dough dont you? Anyway, waitstaff is passable at best. The layout is literally the exact same walls, tables and chairs that were in Pizza Oven this place used to be. Regardless, the cost is far too high and clearly people realize it, Ive been two days straight this week and the place wasnt even 1/4 full at any point.

I have been to the Woodside deli in Germantown and found the food to be good and the wait staff to be good. But here in Rockville we have been sitting at our table for over 20 minutes. After be seated no waiter said hello or took a drink order or anything. Never going again. I do not recommend this place to anyone. My wife asked a passing waiter about when someone was going to take our order. Dude goes to the counter and just starts chatting it up with the 2 others standing there. Never going back to this place again. It wasnt even crowded. There were maybe 5 of the 18 tables with patrons at them. As we walked out of the restaurant only the Indian waiter said anything and he must have thought that we had eaten. The manager was standing near the cash register by the exit door as we walked out.

I use this Deli a lot, until recently when I met with a business client, I headed over to the bank to get cash, when we returned I noticed that my car had gone, it had been towed away by a wheel clamping company, the fact you leave the compound is tantamount to accepting you left the premises, so I will never eat here again for business or private, it cost me an afternoons wages, and $130 to get my car back from the towing company, its the usual scam... BEWARE!! The Wheel Clampers... terrible, just terrible...Rockville is heading towards that 3rd world style bandit community.... even showing the receipt to the towing company had no effect, I had to send the client to the airport via a taxi, so all in all a wonderful experience.

I went to Woodside Deli in Rockville last Thursday to use a Google coupon. I explained to the waiter that I was alone and could not eat $30 worth of food at the restaurant and asked it I could still use the coupon. I showed him the coupon before I ordered and he talked to the manager before I ordered. I ordered one entree to eat at the restaurant and ordered two more entrees which he brought to the table and then I put in to go boxes. I went to pay my bill and the manager (female) refused to honor the coupon and charged me for the meals. I had shown the coupon prior to ordering and did feel like I was ripped off by the manager. Watch out for using coupons at Woodside Deli. It was a bad experience!!!! Alan

They are extremelly slow! There was only one guy (not our server) that notice that our food was taking forever, he was very nice, but everyone else had bad costumer service. Food was not tasty like we thought it was going to be! The lady in the front did not tell me that I was suppose to give her my parking ticket so I would not pay. The people from another restaurant (Apollo Restaurant) located in the same shopping center, where nice enough to tell me that they needed to validate my parking ticket so I would not have to pay! Very bad Experience overral!!!!

Woodside Deli has been around for decades but this location is a bit newer being around for about 5 years or so. Overall, the place is pretty solid but never spectacular. The service is always friendly and fast and the portions are decent. It just lacks that one special thing to stand out and make me mark my calendar to come back. Its just not memorable and every great restaurant should be. But for a neighborhood spot to grab deli fare in a no frills environment, this place is a solid choice!
