Visited based on a Washingtonian review that was primarily positive. I love food, and always try to find a positive aspect of restaurants, but my visit today (August 2017) was very disappointing. Ordered the BBQ Duck with Vermicelli in Soup and the Seafood Congee. Both were astonishingly lacking in any flavor, particularly the broth of the noodles, which was almost void of taste. The duck came in chunks; respectable flavor, but the amount of meat was limited in comparison to the amount of bone. The congee itself, while bland, was ok, but the texture of the seafood was very unappetizing. With several different kinds of seafood all with texture issues, it was a letdown. While the interaction with waitstaff was pleasant, it was very sparse. I was there at opening, and even though the crowd size was minimal, I was only visited to order, to serve, to receive the bill, and one flyby as a waitress was walking by to do another task. All while about five waitstaff stood for most of my hour there. While the food was essentially edible, not. Much else can be said for the food I was handed today. Difficult to find a reason to return.

This is the last time I am entering this restaurant. I am a fan of Cantonese food, eating in cantonese restaurants in many different cities (London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Antwerp, San Francisco, LA, NY, Chicago, etc). Therefore, I am confident to say I know what Cantonese cuisine is, and by far, this restaurant is not authentic. We ordered 2 dishes (Seafood Pan Fried Noodles and Assorted Meats and Seafood Chow Foon) and both were bad. The noodles was way bland, and the chow foon was way too salty. Scallops were tasteless, the roasted pork in the chow foon was more salty than bacon, shrimp was hard and tasteless. Not sure why there are so many good reviews of this restaurant, but do yourself a favor by going to Wheaton. There are a couple of Cantonese restaurants over there that are way better than this one (and cheaper too).

When you walk in you are immediately greeted by a friendly face. The atmosphere seems legit not over touristy or over the top nonsense Asian deco. I love the huge family style round tables, so awesome and the pot of hot tea waiting for you at your table. The downfall, after the greater greats you and seats you, thats about it. The waitresses kind of forget you are there. When you wave at them they turn as if they dont see you. And when they do acknowledge your presence you cant help but to notice the lack of politeness and zero tact or professionalism. The food comes, its like a hit or miss, good or not so good, I guess it just depends. But they want their tip though.

I went there for the first time after a long day after six flags and I got the crab wontons, hot and sour soup, and the BBQ pork rice. The crab wontons were super crispy on the outside, but the filling was soft and creamy. The hot and sour soup was a little too goopy and spicy for my taste, but the flavor was pretty spot on. Unfortunately they ran out of chicken so I couldnt get the combo BBQ rice, but the pork BBQ rice was fantastic! It felt really nostalgic and it was like eating food from home. The waiters were also really nice and had prompt service. I cant wait to go back and try more dishes!

Owner seemed nice. Waitress was either having a terrible day or is just simply rude. Was in quite rush while taking order. Food was bland, more americanized than needed. Ordered Szechuan chicken - supposed to be hot and spicy, to be honest the mustard had more kick than that. Shredded chicken with pan fried noodles was not great either. Tasted like chicken is flavored with nothingness. Why two stars - food came quick. So if you are looking for quick bland food and dont care about the servers attitude, this place is for you ;)

Service is awful, had called an hour earlier to reserve a table, and they had not written our name down. Furthermore, the table they gave us had ac blowing directly down on us. I was with my inlaws, who are elderly and were freezing, and they told us to that its our problem and we should wear more. It was 90 degrees out... Simply put, there are far greater restaurants in the area. The food was mediocre and not fantastic. Nothing really stood out.

Decent Cantonese food in Rockville. We had the deep fried spicy pork chop, sauteed snow pea leaves in garlic sauce, assorted meats and seafood in tofu casserole, sauteed clam in black bean sauce, and congee with roast pork and thousand year egg. Congee was a little bland. The deep fried pork was not spicy, but more on the salty side. If you dont like it being too salty, their Kingdom Pork is good too. Its fried pork doused in a sweet, red sauce.

Fantastic place for Hong Kong style food. It can get crowded so get there early. It helps to speak Chinese or Cantonese to get some of the more authentic dishes. You will notice a high percentage of repeat Asian diners as well. Both my parents who like more traditional Chinese dishes, and myself with more Americanized dishes consider this a go to place for good Chinese.

1. Service - Quick, friendly, & attentive. 2. Taste of food and quality of food - One of the top three places for traditional Hong Kong food around the DMV area. Portion size was just enough & not too salty. 3. Ambiance/decor - Could get noisy when busy. Chinese decor with BBQ stand inside. 4. Cleanliness - Looked & felt clean throughout.

If you arent Chinese yourself, and dont speak Chinese, prepare to possibly feel a bit out of place. But personally, I take that as a good sign. And if youre looking for great, authentic, Chinese cuisine, then it is absolutely worth it. Absolutely fantastic food. I wish I could eat here all the time!

This was pretty good, but the duck came to our table already kinda cold. We were ordering family style so it wasnt as big of a deal, but if Id ordered that as my main entree Id be pretty disappointed. Otherwise, everything was very tasty and apparently pretty authentic. Id recommend.

Best place to go if you love Chinese cuisine. It felt like I was back in Hong Kong when I was here. Good authentic food served in minutes. My favorite would always be the beef brisket rice with their hot tea. I try to go back here every now and then. Love this place.

Food is okay, however the service was horrendous. Insulted my family after we were cold and requested either another table or less ac. They didnt even do anything. A polite sorry would have been sufficient but they insulted us. Horrible experience.

Pretty fine Chinese restaurant. Guangzhou style, so not very spicy. Had 8 dishes and all fine. Not amazing but way more tasty than panda express. In China this is just a 1 star place. But here in US, it deserves a 4 stars.

The food is excellent but weve been twice and the service has been bad each time. Wait staff seemed annoyed that we were there. Wont be back for a third try. Well keep looking for a place with great food AND great service.

Good Chinese food frequented by mostly Chinese clientele. The service is fast but very important impersonal. Feels more like a cafeteria thant a restaurant. Some special dishes. Price is reasonable.
