I am also surprised at the negative ratings--I have had nothing but good experiences with this restaurant. I frequently order takeout by phone and who every does the phone orders speaks very good English in my opinion--there has never been a problem understanding each other (however, after years of working in schools with many immigrant parents I have gotten very good at understanding various accents). I am very picky about Chinese food--I often find it to be too sweet or poor quality meat. Neither of these is a problem at New China. There is a lot of meat in each dish and it is not grisly or fatty and the vegatables are plentiful and fresh. The sauces are very good and well seasoned. The egg drop soup is exactly what you would want. The dumplings are also delish--but not what I expected. No meat? Hardly! They are basically meatballs wrapped in dumpling dough, not the cresent shaped, tiny dumplings Im used to. Something weird is going on with these negative reviews! Take a chance on New China, youll be pleasantly surprised.

I dont understand the bad reviews either - I ordered last night and really enjoyed the food. It did take them longer to get here but is says it might on their website - 30-60 minutes. I located and ordered through their online website. No problem there with language. My order arrived within 60 minutes and it was obviously freshly cooked. The General Tsos chicken was still crunchy and had obviously been cooked to order (Ill certainly wait a little while if this is the food I get - NOT a problem!!). The crab rangoon was crunchy and good, got spring rolls that were very good too, not swimming in oil - very crispy and light. All the food was very good and fresh. We will definitely order again from them for our Chinese food! YUMMY! and it was good the 2nd day too - portions were generous! So glad I didnt pay attention to the negative reviews!

I wish i could give them 0 stars. I ordered delivery for a large group of people (about 18) at work. Not only did they not label any of the items to distinguish between the dishes, but there were items missing or just completely wrong. When I called to get the items they gave me the run around, then used the language barrier to try and get out of giving the missing items. Thankfully, we have a Chinese speaking person on staff who then called in to get the items. When they called in, the restaurant then tried to argue and say that we got everything we ordered. We kept pushing them and finally they agreed to bring 2 of the missing orders, but not correct the wrong ones. I will never order from this place again.

So, even after seeing these bad reviews I decided to take a chance. Either these posts complaining about the lack of meat in the food is their competition trying to hurt their business, or they have learned their lesson. Im quite the Chinese food snob - I was surprised that the dishes I ordered (General Tsos Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken) was almost 100% chicken. I also ordered the fried dumplings. Yes, they didnt speak english all that well, but even my son said "Mmmmmm" when he took his first bit. The food was quite tastey and the meat was good quality. Ill certainly not hesitate to order from them again. (odd, after no review since 2008, that there are two in 2010 in the same month.) Just my two cents.

Im going to try to keep this simple, earlier today we ordered delivery from New China and the person who answered was courteous as were the 2 young children of about 7 and 10 years old who delivered the food to my door. The shrimp with scallops as well as the Pepper Steak were about 95% vegetables. The steamed meat dumplings were good until I ate and spit out a piece that contained a metal object I can only assume was a staple. My stomach has been hurting ever since I ate the food. I am definitely never ordering from here again. I saw some people reviewed about their food arriving cold, ours arrived hot, good thing, metal object in our food plus barely any meat..not so hot.

I wont complain about "NO English" its a Chinese restaurant for god sake dont expect good English. Barely no meat in my food!!!!! Its a chicken dinner with only 20% chicken, amazing! It didnt even taste half as good as other places in the area. I will never order from this place. I got a flier in the mail their prices were better then other competitors only to know that they sell with very less meat.

The General Tsos chicken is worthy of 5 stars for the price as one order is plenty enough for 2 people. Tastes great. If you like spicy food then order extra spicy and you wont be disappointed. I cant comment on any other dish. This is my go to entree with Chinese food. They delivered in a timely manner.

When I first started ordering take out from this Carry Out...my favorite dish was "Singapore Rice Noodles" with pork and shrimp. But lately when I got this dish.. It was horrible tasting :-). I dont know if they hired new cooks or what..but I wont be going there anymore. :-(

This is our usual place for Chinese food in the area. Prices are reasonable and the food is plentiful (and pretty good). They also have coupons available in their takeout menu for free appetizers and entrees with a specific dollar amount purchased.

i will never order from there again ... not only they speak no English but my order took over 1hr and also nearly any meat in the food. this was a very bad idea to ever call a place that has no menu online .. people beware

Tastes great - they do a good job. Add that they have been consistent as well. We pick up food from then fairly often.I cant give them 5 stars (as that never happens with Chinese food) but they get a solid 4 rating.

I order from here, Sechwan Star or the one in the Safeway shopping center in annadale, in my opinon they have the best food; but of course its more expensive than the rest.
