1. Located in the middle of nowhere. Enjoy navigating the mangled country roads with rednecks up your tailpipe. 2. Excessively warm inside the establishment. It was actually noticeably cooler outside than in, and we visited Labor Day weekend, when youd expect the air conditioning to be running. Considering this is hearty German cuisine, youre probably going to have the meat sweats before you get the check. 3. Wait staff is very inattentive. Our waiter strolled passed our table several times, bound for parts unknown, ignoring us for the most part. We dined around 5pm (which I would consider still early into dinner service) and the restaurant was not very busy, but the waitstaff seemed completely lost. 4. Menu is incorrect and outdated. I ordered a bowl of the Beer Cheese soup off the menu (and, I note, is still on their website) and our waiter scoffed "We havent had that for a month or so." 5. The pretzel appetizer was loaded with salt, well beyond the point of unhealthy and into the realm of the absurd. Be prepared to scrape 90% of it off. Quite silly, really. 6. Food was pleasant enough, portion sizes seemed average. I honestly have no complaints with the actual entrees, which is why this review has two stars instead of one. 7. The prices seem quite high for what you get; $15+ entrees, $9 appetizers. There is no dessert menu (they fetch a platter from the coca cola cooler by the front door) which means there are no dessert prices marked anywhere. Theyre *especially* overpriced.

First time in their new location. New location features a lot more room and a great atmosphere. Live accordion music and authentic costumes (including the bus boys) complement the comfortable interior. Food is generally delicious. Particularly recommend the broiled jagerschnitzel. However, a few negatives seriously dampen my enthusiasm - substitutions requested during ordering are consistently missed; waitresses will tell specials to one table, but not another; breads, rolls, and pretzels are inevitably cold and are no better than what you can get at the grocery store. Most aggravating to me is that the portion size of inexpensive side dishes (spaetzle, cabbage and dumplings) are very small. Particularly odd as the entree portions are reasonable. Prices for dessert items are outrageous, but then I wouldnt be worried about dessert if the meal was larger. Fine for a rare exposure to German food; sadly not a good value for frequent dining.

Absolutely below average! I ordered a weiner schnitzel that was brought to my table in no less than 5 minutes after I ordered which tells me it was already cooked and waiting for the next person to order. Who knows how long it sat there. Obviouly long enough for gravity to flatten it paper thin. It was literally 1/4 of an inch thick unlike the fat picture on the menu!! It didnt taste anything like it should have and for the $18 that they charged! The only reason I didnt send it back is that I drove 35 miles from Strasburg Pa. If they trie to serve it in Gemany theyd be out of buisness in no time. Ive spent several years in Germany and McDonalds there was better quality. The Iron Horse in Strasburg Pa. is way better although they only serve shnitzel on Wed. If all you want is German beer I guess this place will do but for German food Id look elsewhere!!!

If only the food matched the nice Bavarian style guest house restaurant. My girlfriend and I recently had dinner in January 2016. The sauerbraten was very disappointing. The meat was tough, and the gravy tasted like someone added maple syrup to brown gravy. Menu items are way overpriced for normal German fare. But, I guess if you dont know any better, and never lived in Germany or Bavaria, you might think its o.k. Personally, Ive had better microwavable German meals from the supermarket in Germany. And the accordion players were very good and dressed in the usual Bavarian garb. However, it was extremely cheesy that the accordion player, strapped a beer stein tip jar to his back walking around the restaurant. But, if you like table side accordion music with sub-par German food, I would recommend it. Prost!

Called a day ahead for reservations when we arrived are reserved table was the wonderful table in front of kitchen door and wait staff station . My Yeager shinitzel was good, mine was fried. Two ladies at my table ordered the same dish but an Americanized version ,fire grilled. It was so tough both ladies had trouble cutting it with the butter knifed supplied at the table. Tis was our first and last visit. We also emailed restaurant to make them aware for our dreadful experience, we received no reply. Good luck we hear the place was great, our experience was not good.

We got here at 1:00 PM and didnt get our food until 3:00 PM. When we finally got our food it was lukewarm and gave the impression it was either undercooked or reheated after sitting out for a while. My sons Spätzle mit Käse smelled funny and we didnt feel comfortable serving it to him. We asked for a manager to complain and the person who came to see us was a person obviously dressed in server attire, so it was doubtful that she was a manager. Needless to say we will NOT be returning. The only reason I gave one star was because that is the minimum one can give.

This place is great! My vegetarian friend recommended it, haha. Cute atmosphere - love the outfits and live music. The beer is good too. My boyfriend ordered the soda/beer drink and it came in a gigantic glass mug. The waitress insisted that we finish it when my bf threw in the towel with about 30% of it remaining. I impressed the waitress when I gulped the rest of it down. The food was good too. I ordered one entree which turned into two complete meals for me.

The food is amazingly good and very authentic. The beverages are equally so. But the service is why we keep coming back. Family owned and operated is something you hear a lot, but this family invites you in and makes you part of theirs. Rare is the restaurant that can truly make you feel like youre home through sheer friendliness alone. I cant wait to go back!

Beer selection is of broad range and plentiful. Food is mediocre at best. Service is beyond slow. Managment and/or owners are rude and actually quite "aggressive" when dealing with even truly legitimate customer complaints and/or issues. A variety of German beers is about all this place has going for it. Time and money best spent elsewhere.

Lowest rating I am able to give. Wanted to give a zero. HORRIBLE experience. SLOW wait staff. Took 2 hours to get served. COLD food. DID NOT EVEN EAT THE FOOD. Paid the bill and my family and I walked out. A "pseudo-manager" came up and offered a feeble attempt at an apology, but that was it. We left and we will NEVER be back.

People who hide behind an anonymous are a "Hans Wurst" and I never trust those reviews.I have being at Prost many times and never had a bad experience. I love the Curry Wurst it just remind me of my good old time in Germany. And the German beer selection is one of the best i have ever seen in any restaurant in the USA.
