Good local bar. Lots of history. Any night of the week youre greeted with a friendly bartender, 2 of them on busy nights. Showcase local talent several nights as week. Have beer and drink specials every night. The only 2 negatives would be the lack of food service(They do offer pizza which isnt half bad, as well as some snacks in the package store) and the fact that they do not run tabs or take Credit Cards. They do have an ATM on site which makes this less of an issue. When I first started going here, I wasnt pleased with the whole cash thing.. but when comparing what I spend on a typical night here as opposed to other local bars which take credit... my wallet thanks me. This place definitely has its regulars, most of which are quite friendly. Prices are comparable to other local bars. This place is definitely doing something right, they still pack the place on Weds, Saturdays, and Sundays with decent crowds on Friday night. Definitely worth a try.

I love the Brass Rail, It has a great friendly atmosphere, the barmaids are the best around. You have many regulars that come into the bar, ( daytime / nighttime ) some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Also a great place to play a game or two of pool with many tables so there is usually no wait to play. During the summer you cant miss out on the boat they have open outside on Sundays with either a band or Dj. The prices are reasonable and with the package goods there on site you can get what you need when you leave without making another stop. During the week on certain nights they bring in the best Djs in all of Pasadena. This is one bar you will not feel out of place going to as the staff and regulars make sure you feel at home!

Yeah the credit card thing really ruined my night, as I was there on a date to see my buddys band. We had to cross the key bridge for an $8 toll and I only had a credit card to pay with. The place is actually pretty big, with maybe 6 pool tables, a stage, large bar, and a package business. How on earth they managed to survive without accepting plastic is beyond me. I ended up having to make my date pay and we only stayed for 2 beers each, because thats all the cash she had on her. POS cheapskate bar. Overcharge and underdeliver is a suitable motto for them.

I love the rail... Others on here complaining about cash only or its conditions or whatvever... The bar is what it is! My friends and neighbors all love the rail. The owners are awesome, Miss Edna and Ed along with Stacy the daughter/grand daughter. Its not the cleanest or newest bar but it has character and has been there for 30 years.

Love Bear (jared the bouncer/security) super sweet, on top of things looks out for people. Bar tenders are absolute dolls. Only down fall is a few unsavory creeps. At the same time its a bar what can ya do about that. Theyre everywhere. O.o also corn hole and pool. So ace in my book!!!

Great local bar, affordable drink prices, awesome specials like every 12-1am Bomb hour $3.50 any bomb and they serve them in regular cups not those little bomb cups with the little tiny shot in the middle, The Rails bombs are 2 or 3 times the size of those little bomb cups

Great local place to kick back and have a beer, never really ran into an issue of idiotic bar arguments. Family that owns it has been pasadena natives for generations which says a lot. They care about their customers and their business.

This is the worst bar Ive ever been to! And I like hole in the wall bars. A tiny shot of fireball was $7 and it takes forever to get service. Plus Ive also had multiple friends and my sister getting roofied there

Worst bar ever, they need John Taffer from bar rescue here. They dont take credit cards, The owners carry guns openly and this is still a place for trouble... Stay Away...

You cant start a tab. You cant use a credit card. This is 2011 right. Who carries cash. Oh I know. Its the one hundred year old people that are hanging out inside.

Man what a cool place. Beer 2 bucks outside grilling on Sundays. Have a real boat outside and you can smoke . Very nice
