Took my family there for lunch after a family funeral. It was a Monday so many places were closed and Bowman has usually been reliably good. We were seated next to a large group of very loud women so we were never comfortable. The food was embarrassingly bad. My son, who knows his food, ordered something light since he wasnt very hungry. It was described as sauteed shrimp in a garlic sauce. What arrived was a bowl of watery broth, with no shrimp visible. Stirring it a bit revealed a few small pale shrimp lost in a bowl of dishwater. It went untouched. His girlfriend ordered French Onion soup, and got a huge bowl of more broth with big chunks of barely cooked onion in it and a square of what was obviously packaged cheese plopped on top. It was very unappetizing. My daughter had cream of crab soup that looked like wallpaper paste. Even my crabcake was small and bland. The bill was over $70 for horrible food and a loud obnoxious waitress and having to sit next to the Red Hat Society. At least I saved alot of money on the tip. Ill never set foot in The Bowman again.

Wow. This was actually a second (last-minute) choice, but were we ever glad that our first choice failed us... I had been to this place once or twice when I was a kid/early teen but what do you know then about good food and good service? This place is a real wholesome family restaurant with friendly staff and awesome food. There were four of us and we ordered: Crab Imperial Steak & Cake Chester Burger Ceasar Salad /Filet sliced over the salad Each of us enjoyed our meals and commented that we would return time and time again...Total bill prior to tax and tip $104.00 A bit more expensive then your average restaraunt but definately not your average restaraunt. If you are trying to decide whether to go to bowmans do yourself a favor and treat yourself....you wont be disappointed...

Entered through a door off of the parking lot with no one to greet or seat anyone. Once seated we ended up waiting quite some time to get our waitress to come over to us every time we needed her and she was disinterested and dismissive of us for the most part. She even walked away from me when I tried to hand her my card to pay the check! When we got dinner rolls they were all undercooked. Our daughters burger and fries were good. When my wife and mines pasta dishes came out the pasta was also undercooked. At this point I wasnt going to eat the shrimp in my scampi so we had to get everything taken off the check. Aside from the soups we got, and part of the Ceasar salad (which was suuuuper garlicky) only our daughter actually ate dinner tonight.

Was with a large party for a wake. Was treated well with prompt a courteous service. Appetizers were at the table on arrival, bruschetta and crab dip, both very well done. Menu was pre set, but was a choice of crab cake, stake, or chicken. All came with salad and potato. Chose the crab cake and was pleased. Nice size with good lumps and not much filler, very good taste as well. Potato was well a potato. Salad wasnt bad, with peppercorn ranch (not overpowering peppery as many are). Finished off with a moist piece of chocolate cake.

The Bowman Restaurant has been our "go to" place for about 30 years. Whether its a quiet and romantic dinner in the formal dining room or a celebration of some kind in the private rooms or just a night to hang out at the bar, Bowmans has never disappointed us. The staff is terrific, the food is wonderful and the atmosphere is great. Steve has done a remarkable job with all the renovations in the last few years. If you havent been there yet, we suggest giving it a try. We think it just might be your "go to" place as well.

$-$$ p/person. I dined for the first time this evening with my Uncle and Grandfather (who are regulars here) and was impressed with the selection of steaks, seafood, and other local favorite menu items. The menu has something for all ages and appetites. I ordered the Chester burger and was not at all disappointed as it was everything youd want your burger to be...big, juicy, and cooked perfectly. The service was fast and friendly and Im looking forward to our next visit! ($ = roughly $10)

My boyfriend and I had dinner there last night. The food was outstanding, steaks were perfectly cooked. I need to be on a low sodium diet and they were more than happy to accommodate me. The service was wonderful; our waitress was fast, efficient and friendly. We will definitely return! The owner, Steve came out and asked us how everything was and wanted to make sure our dining experience was a pleasurable one.

We went to The Bowman on Fri May 19th for a dinner after wedding rehearsal. All of the staff were friendly and attentive and the food was very good . We didnt know any restaurants in the area and found The Bowman from the great reviews online. We will definitely come back when we are in the area. Thanks Again

I like the place:good food good service. Unfortunately. Recently on temperate evenings the outdoor patio vocals has been a bit like .... I dont know ...cats procreating. I think maybe stick to "brown eyed girl " or "sweet Caroline " or " happy birthday " but dont turn the amp up to 11 while attempting Joplin.

Food and atmosphere are horrible. Average age of patrons is 70. Looks like they havent updated the dining room OR menu SINCE 1970! Outside looks like a bombshelter. Prices are ridiculous for the quality of food served. Pasta dishes are inedible, crabcake overrated. Waitresses are slow.

Absolutely love this restaurant! We can go here for a nice romantic dinner, family dinner with the kids or night out with friends. They can accommodate it all. Going this month with friends for birthday dinner and then the comedy club. Always suggest this place to friends & family.

new menu is great. Still love their crabcakes. I thought the atmosphere was wonderful and their was a mix of age groups there. After dinner had a drink at the bar and could actually hold a conversation. I think it is very reasonably priced for dinners.

Good service. Food was pretty good. I got a bleu cheese burger which was excellent and cooked to order(ordered medium and got exactly that), but my friend got a steak sandwich which was bland. The fries were beautifully crispytoo. Overall Im real happy

They have the best bartender in town!! Krista!! On Mondays I believe its wing night. They have $0.10 wings. I highly recommend the oldbay wings. I always have fun when up there. And Steve owner or part owner not sure what he is but he is a great Guy.

Has always been our go-to spot. Cant go wrong with the crab cakes. Prices are reasonable. Have seen many changes over the years but most have all been for the best. We miss some of the bartenders who have moved on, but thats life.

Long wait to be seated, no hostess, no other people in front of us. Long wait for waiter, sticky table, dirty silverware, food was OK. Charged us extra for ginger beer in our Moscow Mules.
