Today was our second visit to Mezcal in a week. Last Saturday my husband and I went for a lunch date and we really enjoyed ourselves. The food came out quickly and was hot...very tasty. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was neat and knowledgable about the menu and restuarant policies. The bathrooms were very clean with a pristine changing table in one of the stalls of the womens room (not sure if theres one in the mens room). The loyalty program was easy to join from my cell phone which means no punch cards to keep track of! Today we returned for lunch with our 7 year old son and our 3 year old daughter. The kids menu offered a variety of selections, both Mexican and traditional American, for the kids and they were both happy with their choices. Again the food came out hot and quick...so quick that the kids didnt have time to become bored before their lunches arrived. We had the Dip Trio again today and, again, it was delicious as were our meals. I indulged in a Fishbowl Margarita today and it was very well made. Prices are about comprable to other TexMex chains but we found we like this restaurant and its cozy feel much better than the big warehouse feel of some of the other local TexMex places. I recommend this restaurant for a great casual dining experience with or without kids!

Let me start off by saying Mezcal has the best mexican food in the area. I have loved coming here since the time that they opened. This one star rating is not based on the food, but rather a situation that occurred when I was there. I was there with my cousin and son(baby) and noticed that our waiter was paying attention to him (more than what would be considered normal) but I let it go. I went back the next day with my sister for lunch and we had the same waiter. My son had dropped something on the floor and I went to hand him to my sister so I could pick it up. The waiter walked up from behind her and grabbed my baby. I heard her ask for him back and immediately popped my head up from under the table. I then asked him to hand him to me, and he said oh hes having fun and proceeded to kiss my baby on the forehead. I do not know this man and it made me extremely uncomfortable. I took my son and sat him next to me in the booth on my lap so no one could reach him. We were about finished our food and I just wanted to get out of there. I have called several times asking for a manager but am told he is either busy or on break. I was a regular at this restaurant, but was made to feel so uncomfortable that I absolutely WILL NOT be returning

I am bewildered as to why this place rates so highly. Being from the border of Texas and Mexico, I always judge a Mexican restaurant by its enchiladas. They werent bad, but certainly bland and scrawny (maybe a half ounce of cheese combined both inside and outside - it was like eating a corn tortilla wrapped around a half a piece of melted string cheese). And why are there carrots and peas in my rice? The refritos are decent, chips and salsa good, but if you cant master a basic enchilada, I wont return to try anything else. Mexican food should not be BLAND. Mari Luna is 10 minutes away, but WELL WORTH the 5 million stop lights to get there. Go there for Mexican food from a very talented Mexican chef!

I have eaten here roughly 6 times with my family since they opened. I think the food is very good and is always fresh. We have never had a dish we didnt really like. We have never been served a side of hours old dry rice or beans which has happened to me at other Mexican restaurants. The servers and staff do a very nice job over all. I do not expect an ultra high level of service where I can feed my family of 4 for $60-$70 with tip (we dont drink). The music is always good and the decor is really excellent. This is a fun, relaxed place that we look forward to going to with nothing to complain about in my view.

Was quite impressed. Every Mexican restaurant that has free chips and salsa better be good. These were quite tasty and there were multiple types of chips to top it off. We had the Texan Fajitas with shrimp, beef, and pork. The meats were all moist and not overdone like I found with most restaurants with similar menus. We had at about 4 portions in the Fajitas for two. The place is lively but is good for kids too. I agree that some of the menu items arent anything new but from what we had they were perfectly done. Drinks are a bit pricey and service was...serviceable. Will try again.

I had lunch there during the week and the food was very very good. I thoughjt it was much better quality and flavor than Don Pablos and the cost was about the same. The decor is wonderful and everything was clean. The staff were very friendly and the service was prompt. I would go again and again. My only dislike was that the volumn of the house music seemed rather loud. Maybe I was sitting under a speaker. If the place had been fully booked, it may not have appeared that way but I was in a little before the lunch crowd.

Used to love this place till one of their managers was rude to me after I told him two parties were seated before us when our name was written down and a buzzer was given to us and it never went off. He did not care about the horrible service. I personally prefer the other managers but they decided to have this tall young skinny guy as one of the managers. Bad idea. My husband and I walked out because we were in disbelief on how bad the service was. Will never return.

Mezcal is hands down the best Mexican spot Ive been to in the Baltimore and Ive been to quite a few so thats saying something! They have all the authentic Mexican food you could ever desire with an amazing twist only Mezcal could pull off. My favorites have got to be their holy guacamole made table side, the el favorito, the Enchiladas Suizas, and their drinks!! Honestly everything there is good so you cant go wrong either way!!

Please accomodate Gluten Free ( allergy ) with your chips. I called and spoke to management, who kindly informed me that the chips are fried in shared oil with wheat and that the kitchen can not guarantee food will be prepared safely due to shared prep areas with wheat. I appreciate the honesty, just wanted to share my thoughts. This place is amazing, just wish the chips and food will be safe for celiacs one day.

Best burrito Ive ever had (California Burrito w/ chicken). They have Blue Moon on draft - we ordered a pitcher. Food was so good, and it came out really quickly. Their salsas werent that great, but I know not to expect amazing salsas from this type of restaurant. Could not have been happier with our meal, and the pitcher of Blue Moon was just the icing on the cake.
