I went there for breakfast with friends here. On arrival I thought I had heard some customers complaining about the food when we walked out. Unfortunately I dismissed it. We sat down and placed our order. We were told that rye toast was 65 cents extra, to which i agreed. The waitress came back with food but it was not what we had ordered. The food was poor quality and did not taste good. I definitely do not recommend the country fried steak. The toast arrived late. When I reached for the first piece of toast I saw that it had some green goo on it. The goo was the consistency of guacamole. I wondered if the 65 cents up charge was because they considered it a sandwich. That would certainly explain the hair on the toast. I think it was a recycled sandwich because the toast was stale. I called the waitress over and showed her the goo and the hair. She apologized and offered to make a new order. I explained that we were finished and politely asked that she credit us for the toast. She said that she was not able to as the cash register did not allow for corrections. Considering the poor quality of food and the stale toast with glue on it I will never go back.

My wife and I had meant to visit The Old Town Diner for some time. We arrived on a Saturday for dinner and were quickly shown to a booth. My wife asked if the meat on the Reuben sandwich was lean and the server answered, "yes, it is sliced thin". I ordered a hot, open-faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes & gravy. The food was mediocre, at best. Only one vegetable choice. Our server forgot us several times. She did not know what the daily special was. She did not know what desserts were available. She told us she would check on desserts and return. She did not return! We had to ask another server for help. Finally, I took the check up to the register to pay and our server was on a cell phone! I have read that The Old Town Diner offers a good breakfast, but I will not be finding out first hand.

This place has gone downhill fast. Years ago we really enjoyed eating here. More recently weve had the son turn the lights off on us twice once while we were eating and another time as we walked in. Both around 8 when posted closing time is 9. At one visit I ordered a crab cake sand which and she brought out a platter when I told her I had asked for the sandwich she told me youll be fine and then disappeared for 45min my husband had to go find her to get me a bun, refills and the rest of his food. Needless to say she openly complained about her bad tip out loud on our next visit. Brittany is the best waitress and is only there Sunday mornings. If its not a Sunday morning or Brittany is off DO NOT EAT HERE!

I liked it. You get punkrock kid service, but the place is clean with a modern bathroom. Fried chicken was featured for $7.95 and included (maybe the worlds plainest) salad. White piece was a little dry but leg was good beyond my wildest dreams. Fried with delicious batter and love if for just a tad too long. Damn lawyers ruined fried chicken. Egg salad club was a most mess, which I mean in a good way. Lotsa crunchy bacon. Rye bread 65 cents xtra, too cute. Coffee weak but drinkable. Homade deserts. Stop here on way back from Wash. Monument. PS. the kids were nice, blame it on the shift change. Service was not bad, just not Very Good, so it gets a frowny face.

People all around us sitting down and then getting service before us waitresses ignoring us. Ordered simple coffee and water, had to ask both waitresses a few different times before getting the water and then they only had enough coffee for 2 of us, waited for the third. Food itself was 2/10, the bread had a stale feel and tastes like it had absorbed the fragrance of some spices it was stored with. Asked both waitresses about 3 more times for 1 coffee refill but it never came, no apologies and eye contact avoided. Will not return.

We decided to pass by the fast food joints to try Old Town diner, that was a mistake. I liked the atmosphere and the staff were friendly but after 30 minutes of not getting our breakfest and others getting theirs we decided to settle up the drinks and leave which took another 5 minutes. Most places would have comped the drinks for the inconvenience but not here. Not sure if it was a bad day or they dont care for outsiders. The food did look good on others plates though.

Passing through from Virginia for a marine ceremony and stumbled upon this place... The atmosphere was quiet and homey. The young waitress was prompt and very helpful. The food!!! It was really good. My husband had the crab cake sandwich.... he could have had twelve. :) Fresh, steaming hot and delicious... The burgers are good, the one thing that sent it over the top for me, was the fresh bacon. Yum! Definitely a must next time we pass through!

We stopped here for breakfast and should have known it was going to be terrible due to nobody else being in the diner. The waitress was not very welcoming from the start and seemed to have an attitude. When the food came out the cream chip beef was all cream...hardly any beef...and tastes like lumpy flour. The egg white omelet my husband ordered was hardly cooked.

We got there at 9:38pm on a Friday (says they close at 10). They closed on us. Wouldnt be as bad if we werent in the middle of no where with a child on our way home from a long trip... Gave 2 stars because it worked out in the end and we went to Mountain View Diner in Frederick close by and they were awesome and their food was delicious!

It took a long time to get the food. They said there was a mix-up in the kitchen. But during that time the waitresses never checked on us. We felt like forgotten customers. The food was not worth the wait.

Service was fast and pleasant - the seafood platter was good, well seasoned and the flounder was light and airy. Would definitely return.
