I heard about this place from a friend who really didnt give me any idea what to expect. It was a weekend afternoon and the place was pretty crowded but no wait. First the good, the service was very good. Everything came fast and we were asked often if we needed anything. Also the décor and cleanliness were great, but it is new. They were out of a lot of stuff, so much they had a printed list. Everything was fine except for the most important part, the food. First I ordered the crab melt, found it to be dry and slightly overcooked. Not much cheese considering it was a melt, it did have large chunks of crab tho. After that was the cream of crab, not bad but it was not impressive either. It was pink which is a little odd(most is cream white) and not a lot of chunk crab. For main coarse I had the fish tacos. They could have been great except for the fish, it was very dry. With all that the worst by far was the seafood alfredo, my wife ordered it and it was so dry it was like paste. It stuck together in clumps, so sauce to it at all. She ended up boxing it and it still is sitting in my fridge at home. Ok, key word of the meal was DRY. Also, my wife asked for a fruity drink, "what is the bar good at?". She couldnt drink it and shell drink anything. The waitress was very nice and took it back, my wife went with a Corona instead. I should have checked the bill better, I got charged 9 bucks for a returned fruity drink....

Where to start? Well first we walk in to be told If we wanted to sir outside its a limited menu. What good is outdoor seating on the water if you have to a choice of 8/9 items. Then we wait ten mins for a waiter to take a drink order. The crab soup had more onions and shells in it then crab meat Oh cant forget to add how runny it was. The bglt sandwiches were a joke a half of tomato a small piece of lettuce on a dry sandwich. This place wont last long.... Except maybe for the fact they are majorly overpriced for small portions. Definitely not somewhere we will be returning too either. Then towards the end of out meal the manager is having a loud conversation with some of her employees in a room full of customers at a table in the room.... Not how you handle business.

The staff is brand new and it shows. We waited nearly 30 minutes for a waitress to even notice us once we got seated. We didnt stay any longer for dinner, that was enough. The manager needs to be out on the floor directing traffic and setting expectations or this place will be out of business within a year or down to just the local crowd which isnt a good business strategy. As one owner to another I would take a look at your server training and go back to a soft opening, have your servers serve you several times. You are loosing out in several chances to turn tables for profit because of the inefficiencies of your staff. Best of luck!

Ive since changed my review from 5 to 2 stars. Ever since we started going back each trip has been worse. The restaurant cant keep up with the amount of people they are serving. Same ole country music, pasadena money maker, restaurant on the water vibe. Waited an hour for food. Another 30min for grandfathers meal. We really wanted to like this place but we will not be back for a long time. Food went from being good to okay.

First visit and well be back. Started with the Rockfish Bites, which we highly recommend. Entrees were Alfredo with chicken and crab cake. The Alfredo was amazing. Perfect blends of cheese. Definate recommend for pasta lovers. Crab cake came with rice and grilled asparagus. Nice and light. Excellent crab cake....light on filler, broiled and tasty. Recommend their Orange Crushes. Some of the best Ive had.

We went to The Broken Oar on a Thursday night we were greeted by hostess and the owner who were very nice. I ordered a New York strip steak with mashed potatoes it was very good my wife ordered the crab cake which was very nice and size very fluffy very moist had a lot of crab meat and my son had the seafood Alfredo which he said was delicious!! I will be back again on my boat this summer !!!!!!

Very cool place with a beautiful patio and bar setup right on the water. Food was pretty good and the beer was cold. The common complaints seem to be the kitchen is relatively small and cant keep up with orders therefore you can expect a little bit of a wait, additionally parking is limited and a bit of a trek away from the actual restaurant.

The food was fine, and service friendly and attentive, but the ambience indoors was poor. You can only get the full menu indoors, whereas the limited menu is all you can get outside, where the water and music are. Outside is also cash only. So its either good menu indoors with no view and blaring TVs, or cheap burgers outside with a view? Hmm.

Staff needs training on customer service! Waited 20 minutes on a gift card and eventually just walked out! Cant imagine sitting down for something to eat. Its a pity. I asked staff several time for help. They went to get manager but he didnt care either. Staff is very young and inexperienced.

The bartenders and service are excellent! The decor and atmosphere is defintly an upgrade compared to the old Nabbs Creek. The menu is great and the food is pretty good, but has some room for improvement. I chalk it up to growing pains in the kitchen and it should correct itself over time.

Come to the broken oar. This is the best new restaurant in the area. The rockfish bites as an appetizer is great. The pizza is amazing. The staff although new is great. They are on it and will only get better. Great job to the owners who greeted every customer.

Visited yesterdayand had a great time. The food was good, service was good. One of the owners stopped by and chatted with us. Cant wait for the weather to warm up. It looks like they have a huge waterfront deck and a roof deck. Will definitely be back.

Waited 15 minutes for waitress to come back to table after my wife and kids ordered ( I arrived later) then another 15 minutes for the beer I ordered. Main entree came out but no appetizers. Slow service and seem to be disorganized.

Terrific food and service. Nice, fun atmosphere with pleasant clientele. Rockfish bites and seafood pizza are a must. Dont think youll be disappointed. Off the beaten path but on my regular list for a good beer and snacks.
