Its midnight. My friends and I want junk food at the end of a Friday night of drinking after a long hard week at work. The DD decides to park and order rather than drive thru because its the summertime and you want to enjoy the warmth before 4 months of winter roll in around the corner. I see the "2 for" deals and decide to go for the roadhouse because it has onion rings and bbq sauce and who doesnt want that. I get my order relatively quickly, sit over at the bench to join my companions who are already munching away. I take a bite, and then another. While its satisfying that salty, fatty, bbqy craving that I decided to cheat on my diet for, I cant help but realize there is something missing. I look at the burger and think of the image on the menu, then realize the onion rings are missing. Do I stay silent and accept my fate? No, Im cheating on a 3 week rolling diet for this, I will have my onion rings! Knock knock in the window and the attendant answers with a puzzled look. I show her the burger and point out that its missing the onion rings. She looks back at someone, perhaps the shift supervisor, to confirm my assertion. She looks at me and asks if i want them to put it on my half eaten burger. Heck no, give me a new one. She takes my leftover sammich and trashes it while closing the window. She reappears 2 minutes later with a fresh hot burger. Delighted, I go back to my seat and unwrap. Big bite. Pause. Cheese ... check, bbq ..... check, some kind of meat .... check. Onion ring ..... .... ..... no, but there is a slice of raw red onion used in some of the other menu offerings I didnt order. My associates all laugh at me while we head over to McDonalds. I WILL cheat on this diet tonight.

Used to buy food from there all the time until this morning. I ordered fries and mozzarella sticks. I pulled up to the window to pay for my order only to see the kitchen staff making the good done have gloves on and the big guy in the back was their emptying boxes of frozen food and throwing some of it in the dewp frier with his bare hands just like the other 3 woman were. I asked the cashier why they dont wear gloves and she presented as though she cant speak English then one of the woman that was making the food came to the window, and I asked her the same question and she was like, "I no make any food." And yet i just saw throw in the chicken and mozzarella sticks with her bare hands. Then she wipes the grease on to her bum. Walks to the bavk and then comes back with one glove on and continues cooking. It seemed like it was a normal thing to do and I was just acting crazy. Sorry but I had to ask for my refund and i will never eat there again.

HOW ARE THEY NOT OUT OF BUSINESS? We went at 8pm: 1. Theyre grill was broken so no burgers. But by the time you got to the speaker to figure this out, theres two cars in front of you and two cars behind you (no escape). 2. Ordered a large chicken meal. The "large" fry was smaller than the box that holds the chicken, as seen in the picture below. 3. Asked for a bbq sauce -- they wanted to charge an additional 11cents...even with the inconvenience of no burgers and the long wait... Guy pointed to a printed sign that was clearly from a home printer (not Checkers branded marketing/signage) that says all sauces are 11c. This was posted no where before getting to the last window where you pick up the food. 4. The food was not even as good as McDonalds or Wendys...

As much as I enjoy Checkers I have to say this is the WORST location. No matter where I go I always order the Mushroom Swiss which I love. My sandwich had so much SALT on it I had to throw it away because of my blood pressure. I wanted to turn around and get my money back but I had a 2 hour drive ahead of me to get home. I must say that will be the last time I visit that location. If Im ever in that area again Ill surely remember theres a BURGER KING across the street from them or die from hunger on the way home. I didnt wanna give ANY stars but they make you choose.

We walked up to look at the menu for a couple minutes and as soon as we walked to the window someone was there to take our order. They were not pushy at all. It took about 2 minutes to receive our food. The burgers were neatly made and not sloppy. The fries were delicious. We didnt get any desserts so I cant comment on those. The only complaint was there was no dine in area. There were a couple of tables and chairs outside but who wants to eat in the cold? The price was comparable to Five Guys. I will come here again.

Checkers is always a wonderful place to stop and grab a quick bite to eat when youre in need of a tasty meal! This location in particular is very efficient at always ensuring quality food is brought to you with good service at a decent pace of speed. Ive only experienced minor mistakes and that was only during the busiest times. OH and its always OPEN LATE! 5/5 - Would recommend!

Great fast food burgers, fries and shakes. I had several Checkers in my area growing up, but they closed down, so this was a blast from the past for me! The Checkers burger is your standard fast food burger, but a little better than McDonalds or Burger King. The fries are different but absolutely fantastic! The shakes are pretty good too. I recommend this for a quick bite to eat.

DELICIOUS!!! I havent been to a Checkers in years. They no longer have one in Raleigh. There used to be one on Capital Blvd (now a Cook Out) and one on New Bern Ave (torn down). They have the BEST bacon double cheeseburger (Baconzilla) and unsweet tea. Not many places can make decent unsweet tea. Theirs is EXCELLENT!! Checkers, PLEASE come back to Raleigh!!

If ever I need to get a super late night snack. This is where I will turn to. Being open until 3 am on a Saturday is definitely nothing to sneeze at and I rip my hat to you all. The food is serviceable, do not expect gourmet out of a checkers, however it does its job and it has flavor. The staff was particularly friendly with me and I have had no issues.

This is not out of business. I just ate there a few days ago (As of 14 Nov. 2011). I love the seasoned fries and the menu has a lot of options. The prices are great for a fast food joint. Also its a drive in so there is not place to eat inside, but you can walk up to the counter and order if you want, they have a few tables outside.

Checkers has maintained its unique taste and feel, especially with its mind-blowing french fries, for many years now. The only downside is the calories, but I swear to you, it IS worth it; just make sure you actually take a quick run after having some of Checkers amazing burgers, wings, shrimp combos, milkshakes, and all.
