The place is small, the decor is tacky, the counter and the servers are right in your face when you walk into the door. But the dumplings there were really good. Theres about 7 or 8 choices, we tried wasabi, curry, and thai ones and they were all good. Wasabi ones can get a little too overwhelming since its not very well mixed in. Curry ones are different and not too spicy. Thai ones are my favorite, but it can be too bland for some people. The different sauces added a lot to the dumplings. So the fillings are modernized and well thought out, but the wraps are a little sticky and not the best Ive had. We also ordered drunken noodles, which was just minced pork and peppers on wide noodles with some dark sauce. The peppers were fresh, but the taste of the whole dish was only so-so. The service was not the best, had to ask for more water multiple times. All in all, if we live in the neighborhood we might go back there often. But sadly its in Kentlands, a nowhere small town. So maybe one day well visit there again, just maybe.

Nothing to be impressed with here. Expensive for what you get. I went for dumplings...and the menu was odd. It was more craft dumpling type choices than just normal dumplings. I didnt see what I wanted and ended up getting beef noodle soup. Also not what youd expect. They made it with lo mein noodles and it was sweet. Too many onions. My friend got the dumplings anyways and one order is definitely not enough...looked like an appetizer plate.

My wife and I stopped by for a late lunch on a Friday after seeing Batik listed on the Find Me Gluten Free app. Were both Celiacs and were excited to eat some gluten free dumplings! Our friendly waiter informed us that a few types of dumplings were GF. I tried the Thai Way dumplings and they were very tasty; I also really liked the salad that came in the bento lunch special. Ill return if I find myself back in Gaithersburg.

I liked the selection of food. I tried the dumplings that has curry in them and blue crab with wasabi both steamed. They were both good. Hot and sour soup was good and spicy with just a little less thickness (maybe egg) than I really enjoy. I will go back to try other things. If youre a spotluck app user, the one drawback is they wont allow the discount on the lunch boxes.

I am so happy to have been introduced to this gem in Gaithersburg. The laid back atmosphere is ideal to enjoy their traditional recipes. The dumplings are my favorites - unique spices with the perfect matching dipping sauce, yum! The great beer and wine selection, and friendly staff, just make the experience amazing.

My wife and I have been to Batik a few times and it is absolutely delicious. Every dumpling option is exquisite and there is plenty from which to choose. The curry is also fantastic, and the owner has selected some fantastic wines. You will not be disappointed, and you will turn into repeat diners. Enjoy!

This is hands-down my familys favorite Asian cuisine restaurant. (We go one ... or more ... times per week.) The food is really good. I cannot handle spicy hot food. When I order a normally spicy dish, but with no spice, the food is still very flavorful. Really enjoy it!

I really like this place. Glad they are in the neighborhood. I love their lunch boxes. Its awesome they have them on the weekend. The pineapple fried rice is real tasty as is the hot n sour soup. The green curry is also really good if you are up for spice.

Nice selection of Pan Asian cuisine across SE and Eastern Asia. Owners are Filipino, but prepare each regions dish as if they were from that place. Not as spicy as the natives may like, but otherwise they stay true to the original flavors.

A nice selection of lunch special options with some pretty unique dishes. A little small, so arrive on the early side for lunch if you can, although the tables flip reasonably quickly, so the wait isnt usually too long.

We were just so impressed! Wow, what an eclectic array of flavors. We gave Henry full rein on the dumpling dishes and everything was fantastic. Our party tried every item. Our hats off to such a wonderful restaurant!
