Silver Diner USED to have a great menu and great diner food...now, not so much, at least thats the review for this location. We had visited the Double T diner over by FSK mall about a month prior to our Silver Diner visit; we expected a similar experience. We did not have such an experience. The food was awful. That is no understatement. Literally: bad, really, really bad. Dried out, not flavorful, poorly executed (think of it like one of those fancy restaurants that makes your meal look like artwork). However, we did not complain because, yeah, have you seen the movie "Waiting?" One does not complain about their food at a restaurant unless absolutely necessary. Further, the menu was weak in stature, and prices were roughly a 1/3 higher then what youd expect a "diner" to charge. The only positive notes were that the staff was very friendly and there was now wait; those were the only pluses of the night. I dont know, maybe its just this Silver Diner but theyre trying too hard. Everything is listed as "organic" or the eggs are listed as "Amish raised." Come on Silver Diner, why so "trendy" and "uppity?" Think of this place as trying to smash a diner experience with an elegant 5 star, artsy, restaurant. That is what this location has tried to pull off...why, YOURE A DINER! If you wanted this feel, they should have built it in Urbana, the most uppity place around; but I digress. For my family of 4 (and the kids ate off the kids menu), plus the $5 discount for installing their worthless app (install their app, get on their mailing list - used fake information, get $5 off your meal), our total was still $45 before tip. I do have to mention we did get roped into the cheesy-fries appetizer so, that could have knocked about $8 off our total, but still...pretty pricey compared to our other Frederick diner experience: I can take my family to Double T and order similar, better tasting, diner friendly items for about, again, a 1/3 less. For a great diner experience, well stick to Double T by FSK; a phone-book for a menu, cheaper prices, good food, and no trendy, hip looking, plates, bowls, organic, Amish raised, artsy feel, etc. Just a normal diner experience. Thanks for ruining a good evening Silver Diner, youre (this location) terrible!

Mid-Sunday morning, the parking lot looked crowded but we were seated immediately. We ordered the regular pancakes & eggs breakfast. I ordered mine with scrambled eggs, bacon, & a side of the maple chicken sausage (mine was $12.99, the other was $9.99.) The service was quick, courteous, & knowledgeable, & the food was served quickly. Our server, Sierra, did a great job. The pancakes were large, the bacon small & not crisp, though tasty, the maple chicken sausage was a waste of money, tasting like a mix of what I would imagine cardboard & potatoes might taste like. The scrambled eggs were also tasteless, and although the menu called for two eggs, the portion served appeared to be no more than one small egg. My wife had the same breakfast, but without the chicken sausage, & with her eggs served over medium & well-cooked. Finally, the coffee was pretty good, although $2.99 per cup.) Our total, not including tip, was $30.69, not an inexpensive diner-style breakfast. This was my second visit to this Silver Diner, & although it does a lot of business, my experiences here have both been sub-par. Pretty sure I wont be visiting often, but when I do (& if you do), you should ask for Sierra!

I went with my wife and kids, and at least the wait was short. The problems started before we could sit down with a menu. Our server was already trying to take our drink order, as we were taking our seats. I mean while still sliding into the booth, no menu yet, sitting down. In less than five minutes, we were asked if we were ready to order, four times. If youve ever eaten out with picky kids, they can take a minute or two to decide what they want. By time number four, I just picked an item off the menu to end the constant questioning. I was mad at the server at first, but I think they are pressured by management to turn over tables as quickly as possible. I feel I would have to prepare with the online menu, to come here again, since you cant take more than a minute to decide what you might want to eat. The kids and my wife liked the food, but I didnt really care for mine, since I was angry about the whole situation.

The Silver Diner in Frederick, which is open early and serves breakfast all day, is set up as a very cute clean diner but the food is clearly not diner food. The food, including breakfast food, is amazingly fresh, organic, hot and prepared to ones exact specifications! Their website tells you where their food is sourced from including their amazing deserts. It also tells you what schools in Frederick County they donate to. And it tells the story of their founder and his take on food. With all that said, the menu is amazing!!! The prices are amazing!!! The service is amazing!!! Our server Cynthia was extremely kind, attentive and very knowledgeable about all the food. The restrooms were very clean and the dining area is clean and ample in size. Great place for couples, they have a complete bar, or families, they have delicious milk shakes. This is the best place to eat healthy at a very reasonable price in Frederick!

I took my daughter there last night. We have been to the one in Rockville twice and now this new one in Frederick twice also. Every time we have really liked the food, family atmosphere, music, and prices. The servers have all been very nice but I did voice to the manager that we have had a couple experiences where the server didnt visit the table again after dropping off the food until we had finished. He seemed very eager to hear about my experiences there, seemed like he will see to it that the servers are better informed on how to pay appropriate attention to their tables, and he thanked me for my comments. I really hope that this place makes it here in Frederick because they have good food at great prices and I do believe that they will succeed.

I had the edemame hummus, a campfire milkshake, and a Philly steak omlette. The only thing that was worth the high price tag was the milkshake which was actually very unique and good. The hummus was awful, a small portion that tasted like cardboard. The Philly omlette tasted pretty good but it was $13 and I could get something just as good at IHOP for half the price. The server was great though. Stacie really knew her menu. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the meal. I wouldnt recommend this restauraunt to anyone that isnt a GMO free organic eating health nut :(. I will come back to get a milkshake to go though.

Food was really good and staff was eager to serve. The menu has a wide selection. The Chicken and Waffles and the Banana Stuffed French Toast were both very tasty and everything appeared to be extremely fresh. Another reviewer left a comment about the noise level which Id have to agree. All of the booths have mini jukeboxes (all playing the same song of course) however the volume is adjustable from Off - High. Even if you turn it off and the surrounding booths have theirs on High, it becomes a little overbearing. Aside from that, the atmosphere is very pleasant. Will definitely return.
