Came there after 6pm. Ordered crabs for my family and my husband ordered a crab pretzel and old bay wings. He finished all of his food before our crabs came out. His crab pretzel was very runny and covered in alot of cheese and Not alot of crab dip. His wings were very very salty. And didnt even taste like old bay wings more like salty and crispy. The Staff was nice and attentive they were on top of the serving us. But the food was meh. Good prices but if pay a little more for better food. Will not be returning.

Pretty good seafood and awesome specials. I have ordered crabs here 5 times, and all but one were there some issues with the crabs, about 1/4 of the crabs each time were either overcooked and some were extremely watery. Service is ok- sometimes wait staff seems to think you are a pain for wanting more than 2 beers during dinner with crabs or asking for something. Hate to knock local businesses, but feel everyone should want to improve! Much better than other crab spots in this town, but could be better.

This place is really great, but I must note that its not really a classic restaurant. The eating area is basically just a room full of picnic tables, and it doesnt really have a formal restaurant feel. But I actually kind of like that because its low-key anyway. Food there is excellent, no doubt, and the crabs are expensive, but compared to every other restaurant with crabs in this area, its one of the cheapest. I definitely highly recommend this place. Great food, great service.

Horrible. Had a reservation and pre ordered 3 dozen med/large crabs. Largest size they said they had. We had a large group and some ordered appetizers and meals. All food was delivered and eaten before crabs arrived. Did not get crabs until 1 1/2 hours after reservation. Other customers with no reservation got Jumbo. Crabs before we did. When crabs finally arrived they were small at best. Very disappointed and will not be returning.

Today was my first day getting crabs here. I got 2.5 dozen XL males.they give you 2 free crabs every dozen so that was great. The crabs were full every single one!!Very delicious!! The butter was for a lovers taste my wife and friend did not like how there butter tasted but I did. Almost taste like the butter they give you at the movie theaters which Iam a fan of! Will buy crabs from here again!! Thankyou!! Well worth your $$$

We were on vacation and wanted to make a point of having some Maryland crabs. Great food, a friendly staff. As a first timer, the other diners were very friendly and supportive as they taught me the fine art of crab peeling. The portions were more than generous and freshly prepared.On the way out, the owner was extremely personable and seemed genuinely interested in our experience. I had a great time!

We ordered 2 1/2 dozen large steamed crabs and 2 lbs. of steamed shrimp for carryout for the Fourth of July. Both were EXCELLENT! Every crab was a good one - nice size, full and tasty! The shrimp were perfectly seasoned and very tender !!! The crabs came in a sturdy box and stayed warm until we were ready to eat them. Thanks Captain Dan for making our taste buds happy on the 4th !!!

My favorite seafood restaurant. We frequently go here for Jumbo crabs and there is always a deal to be found. The food is great and the place is very small. Make reservations for parties of 6 or more. Get the jumbos. Clams and shrimp are also excellent. You can also buy seafood to go. We took 8 quarts of crabmeat and a gallon of oysters home to Nebraska. They were a hit.

Normally the food is good, and the crabs are always good. This time not so much. Crab pretzel tasted OK but the pretzel was very tough. I ordered a lump crab cake that didnt have any lump in it and was mostly filler. The Chesapeake fries were good though. I will def give them another try but I seriously doubt ill get what I ordered today

Wife was craving seafood, and having just moved to the area we decided to give Captain Dans a shot! Turned out to be a great experience: service, food, and pricing were all great for the quality. My wife had a half dozen large steamed crabs, I had a couple lump crab cakes with macaroni salad and fries. Very good, we will be back!

This crab house was excellent. Ordered a dozen large crabs and received two free. Full, hot and well seasoned. Also had the crab soup (delicious) and the seafood platter. Quick with wonderful, friendly service. We traveled 45 mins to enjoy crabs here and would return!

Visiting from Florida; I like to have steamed crabs anytime I come to Maryland. There were the best crabs I can remember. The jumbos were tasty and very heavy with meat . My grandsons live here and agreed that these crabs were the best! I will return anytime I can.

Absolutely the best crabs Ive ever eaten. I ordered 2 dozen jumbos on labor day. Ive been eating crabs for 50 years around Baltimore & Annapolis and not only was the seasoning perfectly balanced in all respects, they were cooked perfectly!

Although this place can get pretty crowded on the weekends they have great crabs. In addition, the servers are excellent. Also, there dessert selection is pretty good. Its a great place in eldersburg.

Loved everything we ordered. I take the crab dip home to Buffalo, NY for my sister every time I go! Small place in a strip mall and easy to miss or even avoid but the food is great.

Good service. Great MD steamed crabs. But it should be noted that they dont use Old Bay. Instead they use their own blend of spices. Which are good. But not Old Bay.

They have jumbo and large shrimp. The large shrimp are very satisfying. You will not be disappointed! In the summer the soft crabs are awesome! Look it up soon.
