We have eaten here three times, twice at their Dunkirk location andonce at the new Prince Frederick site, with varying results. The prices are about 20-30% higher than average for the level of quality of the food. The bread and butter is served warm and crusty - the highlight of the meal. The side salads were a modest size of iceberg lettuce, topped with hald a cucumber slice a grape tomato, some sliced green & banana peppers. A simple pasta and sauce dish is in the $12-16 range; $14 and up if you want a dish that includes a meat. The fettucine bolognese ($15) is consistent in quality and pretty good. The tortellini tricolore ($16) is average quaity and a bit high in price - the sauce was on the watery side, bland and there was not a lot of cheese flavor. The chicken valdostana was the worse version I have had from 4 locally owned Maryland restaurants...and most expensive at $16. The chicken was dull and slightly rubbery, covered with a very small very thin slice of proscutto and a goodly smear of bland mozarella cheese and sauted mushrooms. Bland is the best description. It was served on a bed of overcooked speghetti noodles in some white oily sauce. I could not tell what the sauce was it was oily had no flavor and of course did not stick to the pasta. The waitress when asked could not tell me what the sauce was nor did she check withthe kitchen for an answer. For a restaurant in this price range and with the pretention this locally owned Mama Lucia has, the service is lackluster and unattentive. No freshly grated cheese or pepper was offered at table. There was a jar of "powdered" grated cheese like you get in the cardboard cannister in the grocery store on each table. So the cheese and pre-ground pepper could not be relied upon to add the missing flavors. The big draw - there are no other sit down Italian restaurants within 30 minutes.

Basic pizza for a very high price. I stopped by and for lunch bought a stuff meat pizza, running about 24 dollars. Sadly what I got was a stuffed cheese pizza. Lots of crust, lots of cheese, minimal meat. I would expect a pizza like this running 12 bucks or so, paying 24 dollars for a weak topping pizza like this will just make me NOT go back to order again. Like most basic quicky pizza places like this, trying to compete and save money isnt the way to bring back customers. If i want a cheap bad pizza ill spend 7 bucks at 7-11, or k-mart, or dominos. For 24 bucks i better get a great pizza. This wasnt it.

Couldnt get service at the bar or the take out menu side. Guy was to busy testing on his phone and he kept texting and looking at me. Several waitresses made drinks behind the bar and looked at me and no one ever spoke or asked me anything finally I got up and left!! Horrible and I went on a Thursday night at 7.

Pretty nice experience w/a decent casual atmosphere, along w/good portions for the price. The price isnt low, but its not bad for the amount of food served. Service is usually good, but sometimes theyll attempt to rush you out depending on their mood/maturity, regardless if theyre busy or not.

This place brings back memories from my childhood. I would always get the Mastaccioli Allaarrabiatta at the Annapolis location and its still as good as it was back then. Wait staff was very attentive and the atmosphere was really relaxed. We were in and out without any fuss.

Made me feel like I had an Italian GiGi, who made her best dishes for me. I cant wait to come back! Now- it takes some time to make food this good, but worth the time to get something so scrumptious! Warm bread to go with?! Wheres my couch for the nap Im going to need?

I love how in their commercials the waitress says "wow, you take Italian food pretty seriously" and that is the reason I wont eat there. If they knew anything about real Italian food, their menu would be completely different. Never eating there again.

The quality is diminishing. I regularly order a salad. It used to have lots of high-quality meats and cheeses. In recent months, its been mostly lettuce (fresh) and grocery store quality meats and cheeses. Loaves of bread are also smaller.

Went there over the weekend, the price was a little expensive, but when the food came you realized it was worth it. Large portions. The individual plates can probably feed a family. You will need to carry out.

If it werent for lack of options we wouldnt come here. Food doesnt have flavor and sometimes you can taste the freezer burn (veal). Far below many other Mama Lucias we have visited.

Not much time spent on presentation or "the little things" that would earn them more stars. Understandable though. We are in a small rural market. Friendly staff for aure.
