Great little bistro with a friendly competent staff. The food is in a word, excellent. Had the BROCHETTE de CREVETTE and finished with the MOUSSE au CHOCOLAT. One couldnt ask for a better meal. Initially the portion of the Crevette seemed insufficient but after desert I was left with a comfortably satisfied feeling. The Bistros selection of after dinner drinks adds a nice touch to a pleasant evening. After the meal dinners can enjoy a walk along the lake or take in an evening concert just a few steps away. This will be one of my go-to restaurants whenever in Columbia.

Went Friday for lunch, had been there several times before, but this time was not a good experience! The manager actually stated that the chipped plates on the table were Okay! That we would not be eating our of them. That the restaurant was A Bistro! So the chipped plate stayed, we noticed more chipped cups and dishes! The waitress was very apologetic and we did obtain good service from her. The food as usual was Great! But will give second thoughts to going for the experience was not friendly by the manager!

Stopped on an impulse on an afternoon with balmy weather. Enjoyed eating outside and looking at the lake view. My wife had the vegetable quiche and I had the Burger a la Francaise. Both were well prepared and tasty. When my wife felt that the wine steward had poured her a short glass, the waiter gladly topped it off for her. If youve been the original Petit Louis in Roland Park and think it a bit stuffy and straitlaced, youll find this more relaxed, and perhaps even a little more affordable.

To be clear, I have more conventional taste in food. However, Petite Louis and Christina our server made me a convert. The food was excellent much to my surprise and taste. Our server knows her stuff about wine pairings which surprised me because Im more of a beer drinker...lol. My wife talked me into going here for dinner. This was a dining experience. If your looking to "wine and dine," I highly suggest Petite Louis in Columbia! Oh, and dont forget the pastries. #finedinning #wineanddine

A taste of France in the middle of Columbia. The restaurant has a wonderful selection of traditional appetizers and entrees none of which has disappointed in our multiple visits. In addition to the restaurant there is also a connected coffee and pastry shop that is worth a trip on its own with beautifully crafted drinks and desserts. A lovely place to enjoy a bottle of wine and fine meal with that special someone or to grab a quick espresso and pastry for the road.

Five stars for service! Three stars for food. We went for the first time during lunch. I am a vegetarian and there were only a couple things for me to choose from on the lunch menu. The food we got was just ok- not bad, not great. The dessert was excellent and had big portions! We will go back, but only for the dessert. The decor was kind of dark, and the rugs on the floor- I guess theyre probably antiques, but to me, they looked ratty and disgustingly dirty...

On a Sunday morning its like walking into a Parisian bistro. Theres a dude playing an accordion, beautiful décor, and the food is awesome: varied menu of French classics, well prepared at reasonable prices. The pain perdue is a delicious brioche covered in melt-in-your-mouth apples with a swirl of crème fraiche. Not a lot of vegetarian dishes, but enough to get by. Much roomier than the Baltimore location. Give it a try, youll love it!

I went here with an actual native of France. He complimented the wine list and enjoyed the food. Our waiter was from Martinique, and he was very kind, helpful, and thorough. This was my first time at this location. My companion has been to the one in Roland Park years ago. We both enjoyed ourselves.

Petite Louis is an amazing experience. Stop in to enjoy the cafes sweet pastries and savory quiche where Chris will create froth art on your cappuccino. Or head to the restaurant for unforgettable dining to tease your palette but dont forget to stop at the bar for a concoction of French delight.

One of the best dinners Ive ever had. The service was amazing, the waiter was very helpful and made our experience enjoyable. The food was great! I had the duck breast which I highly recommend, and the creme brulee for dessert. Would definitely return to try other things on the menu.

Dinner last night - not up to par. Ive been here before and thought our dinners lacked something- particularly not a vegetable in sight. My meat was gristly - favorable but not what it should have been.. Just wasnt up to par

The comptoir is a great place to to stop for a sweet bite when strolling around the lake. They make various flavors of macarons (usually about 4 varieties each day) that are the best Ive found in town.

I cant figure out WHY this place gets rated so highly. The ambience is nice and it is at The Lake. However, the food is always VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!
