Simply put Cest Magnifique Fantastic traditional french cuisine with a top notch staff to add made the experience truly one-of-a-kind. The moment we walked through the door probably the coolest bartender we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with, Talia, was there to serve us with a deep knowledge of the many wines and spirits available to us she made for a more than warm welcome. Next came Mark who was bar none the best waiter we have ever had. Attentive and helpful the sense of humor made us at home and added to the fun of this cozy evening. Finally, after being left more than satisfied with our food (Order the escargot, as well as the Magret de Canard) Thillman came over and went over the various cheeses available to us to dine on which made for a great end to an illustrious dining experience. My S/O and I had a fantastic time and the ever difficult to please 93 year old grandmother we brought along with us had a very joyous time. Thank you very much to everyone that helped at Petit Louis Bistro. We will be back!

Petit Louis is the fancy French restaurant they show in old movies, where everything on the menu is written in French and the wine list is as thick as a novel. The wait staff is friendly and super knowledgeable, and you can literally order a giant cart full of cheese to your table, and just buy a crap load of cheese on the spot. Holy crap everything on the menu is good, and the decor, oh my god you have to see this place to believe it. It looks like a hundred year old photograph inside and out. And I mean an actual French dude greets you at the door, with an accent and everything. All of the servers can really nail the description of how anything on the menu tastes too. Just be ready to drop some serious dough, this place is every bit as expensive as it feels. If you want to leave really full, get an appetizer before your entrée, and if you want to get stuffed, get a dessert. Petit Louis is the kind of place you want a special occasion to go to, and Ill go there any excuse I can get.

My wife asked me if I wanted to brunch At PLB for Fathers Day. I reminded her that I will never eat there again. I had poached oysters there as an appetizer. I received a spoiled oyster that almost made me retch. I called my waitress to remove the plate, and give me a sweet wine to clear the foul taste. When I received my check for the meal the oysters were on the bill. I was told the maître d would have to adjust the check. He told me only one oyster was bad and he would take off for that, but I could pay what I thought was appropriate. I should have not paid for the meal, due to his grossly arrogant demeanor. I took the oysters off the check. I will never return to the establishment due to his attitude, and him placing the onus on me for the Chefs mistake. The mistake was amateurish and should have been caught in the kitchen. No restaurant is so good that they should embarrass their guests for pointing out an indisputable error. Shame on you.

Petit Louis is a fantastic bistro in Roland Park with everything French to satisfy the palate. The atmosphere is warm and filled with chatter without being overbearing. All the salads are fantastic, as are the appetizers, namely the foie gras. You can ask the bartender to pair it with a particularly sweet wine, to make for a truly authentic experience. Ive had a variety of entrees here from the chicken, flank steak to scallops. Theyre all a step above average and worth the moderate pricing. Dont go without trying their pommes frites sides (all the sides are fantastic). I find that the desserts are usually mediocre. Maybe its the french patisserie snob in me, but the tarts and souffles are all very tasteless. They try to cover that fact with ice cream or ganache, but youre better off skipping these worthless calories at the end. Trust me, its not worth it at all.

We celebrated my husbands birthday at Petit Louis just a week ago ( 4-30-10). We drove down from Philadelphia, and my son and his girlfriend, drove up from Wash. DC to join us.We chose Petit Louis because we travel to Paris as often as we can, and we have dined at this restaurant before, and found everything about it to be wonderful. The staff is friendly, warm, and not pesty. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The kitchen was quick to honor our few requests for some substitutions. The wine list offers an admirable selection of good wines, and like the food, the wines are also moderately priced. I am tempted to stop raving about this gem right now for fear that we will have to wait weeks to snare a reservation in the future.

Wow, What a delight! My Fiancee took me to Petite Louis for Valentines day and this was by far the best experience Ive ever had at any restaurant..You are greeted at the door..not with a hello, but with at Bonjour Mademoiselle et Monsieur and Bon Appetit! The staff was amazing and worked well together. Our server was Shannon and again she was awesome, very knowledgeable of the menu as well as the specialty cheeses (which were delicious) The food...ohhh what to say about the food..I was in food heaven, everything was amazing, cooked to perfection as well as a perfect wine pairing. I hope to go back soon, it was well worth the money Cindy & Kevin

The place was very crowded and when sat against the wall with other diners - neither I or the others against the wall could easily get out. The food was disappointingly mediocre. The reviews had me soo excited to come here, but my scallops tasted heavy on the salt and nothing more. The bread was nothing above average and neither was the butter. The steak they had wasnt exceptionally prepared nor was it something that left you craving more. However, two nice things about the restaurant the service was friendly and the fries werent too bad, but nothing like what I was expecting from the reviews.

Went on Prix Fixe week and had a nice dinner. Was shocked when the bill came and we were charged $27 for two small glasses of wine at the bar. This is a little over the top. Cant believe that this is the only Meritage that they serve and felt taken advantage of. At that price I would expect to be presented with the bottle or a little verbage as to why this is the greatest wine we have ever had. We frequent NYC and have never had this sort of surprise. I would recommend that you beware of the price of the wine that they are serving.

Petite Louis is an old style french restaurant in quiet Roland Park location. Amenities include a traditional sommelier, cheese cart and poultry which is carved on a cart next to your table. The interior of the restaurant is characteristic of a french bistro, and the food is the best french cuisine you are going to find in the Baltimore area. Prices are high, but a good value for what you receive. Make reservations, as this place is usually crowded.

Servers - great! Ambience - great! Food - great! Got the lamb with beets, and chocolate icecream. Best cooked meat I have ever eaten. My partner got the duck confit which he totally loved. Place felt a little cramped but the place is so good that it must be shared with as many as possible. :)
