Even though it looks sketchy, it is by far one of the greatest BBQ ive had! Loved how you could see your food being actually barbequed. The service was excellent. I got the half chicken dinner which was very good(people who hate bones beware). My sister got the smoked chicken Mac n cheese which was sub par for macaroni and had two big pieces of fat in it with the chicken. My mom got the pulled pork dinner which was more mushy than usual. The good parts, though, was the corn on the cob which was very fresh and a good side to all that BBQ we are. My brother got a whole rack of ribs which were amazing! Overall, I would definitely come back with a few changes to my order

I cant really speak for the quality of food...because I waited for an hour without even being spoken to by a server. Service is a HUGE equation in figuring the quality of a restaurant, and since I can only judge this place based off its service, Ill call it terrible and leave it at that. While it was 7/3, and this area was pretty busy, the parking lot was half-full, there were tables to be had, and there were maybe a dozen different parties to be served. Busy, yes. Slammed, hardly. Maybe the food is good, maybe it sucks, but I can say without reservation that this is the worst-run restaurant Ive ever been to.

Phenomenal! We did not even get lobster (all lobstered out after a few days here) and the BBQ was unbelievable... the Rodeo platter is a good sampler and fed our family of 4 with a few extra sides. Staff was really nice, and it was quiet but a nice rustic atmosphere. There is outdoor and indoor seating area, and the indoor is picnic like, but similar to other roadside restaurants. Right down to the pie, we were totally impressed. And we are from Ohio and have had quite a bit of experience with bbq. The smokiness of the meat was like eating the best part of a campfire!

I have had some good experiences here in the past. Unfortunately, we had a poor experience today. It was pouring rain, cold, and windy, we had 5 children ranging from ages 2-10. The open sign was lit up and the door was open. The waiter me us at the door and had us wait outside for another 10 mins, because they werent open. It would have been a nice gesture to let us step inside the already open door and wait at a table until they opened. There are so many places to eat down there, it may be a while before we go back.

Good quality food, albeit with touristy prices and slow service. The lobster was large, fresh, and delicious. The baked beans, which had some brisket mixed in were some of the best Ive ever had (who wouldve thought a roadside spot in Maine would earn that distinction?). There was also a good beer local beer selection. My only issue, and thus deduction of one star, was the slow service - it took about ten minutes to get a waiters attention. Despite that complaint, Id go back.

Totally exceeded expectations! We enjoyed pulled pork, smoked sausage and a knock out huge platter of ribs - all at a great price! The blueberry lemonade was also delicious! It was a completely fulfilling dinner on the first night of a week long vacation and we will definitely be back to try the lobster before we head home!

Stopped by for lunch and ordered the $30.00 MONSTER Lobster roll they recommended. They brought out one lobster roll cut in half that was the size of a 6 inch sub sandwich. Save your money and go some place else. We were here on vacation and were very disappointed with the way we were taken advantage of.

If youre looking for great BBQ, this is the spot. Absolutely delicious. They smoke their meat for more than 8 hours. Delicious baked beans, as others have mentioned. Also have a live lobster tank, if you want to stay with the Maine spirit. Great and knowledgable staff. Will be coming back again.

Love the Blueberry Lemonade! Refreshing but not too sweet. Great pulled pork, generous portions, good prices. I never have enough room for dessert, so cant speak to those. A great meal plus tip is less than $25.00 for just myself. The seafood smells terrific, but I have yet to order any.

Had my first lobster roll here and easily the best one while in Bar Harbor and Bangor. The barbecue was excellent as well, a truly special place that can meet the needs of all looking for a place to eat. I heard about this place from the staff at Fireside Inn in Bangor.

Great lunch! Variety of food (seafood, burgers and bbq) at the table and all 4 agree that it was very tasty. Prompt and friendly service. Sim0le outdoor seating but clean. Definitely will be back for a dinner sometime to continue sampling the variety of dishes.

Awesome Haddock and Chips luncheon.. and the BBQ Brisket sandwich was just as good - according to my wife.. Portion size was beyond consumable by the regular appetite.. so STARVE yourself HUNGRY before you show up at the "Lobster Pound and Real Pit BBQ"..

Went early for lunch, with my parents, and we all enjoyed Lobster rolls w. very tasty sides (corn, coleslaw, fries). Tried the Chowder too, solid. And was *very* happy with the draft beers.

Great food. We arent really seafood people, but I tried the haddock and it was amazing! My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and loved it. Pleasant, low-key place with good atmosphere.

The pulled pork plate was tasty. Nicely flavored meat, excellent beans and simple corn on the cob. However, it was overpriced, an unfortunate consequence of being near Mt. Desert.

The prices are expensive for average food and a very casual atmosphere. Our fries and onion rings arrived cold to the table but were replaced without question by friendly staff.

Amazing Lobster Dinner. They live up to their claim "fresh lobsters". Out of curiosity ask to see where they store 20,000 lbs of live lobsters.

The Rodeo is a great deal for those with kids who like Bar-B-Q. The lobster rolls are very good and they have a good clam chowder as well.
