Seriously, if you actually want some Fish on your sushi, do NOT eat HERE! Just spent $25 for a Cherry Blossom roll, an order of yellow tail sashimi , and an order of ikura sushi. The sushi chef must have the sharpest knife around. Some how he topped my eight piece roll with about the amount of tuna in a (usual!) one piece sushi. It was about an 1/8 inch thick and MAYBE 1 inch square. The yellow tail sashimi was to supposed to be "three" pieces which it was... a normal one piece of sashimi cut into three pieces!!! Only the ikura sushi was "normal. MAJOR rip-off. Never going back.

We went to Nara last night 7/8/2016 for the first time since they moved to their new location. It was even better than I remembered. Weve eaten suchi all over town and our family considers Nara by far the best. Try the OMG roll! Try the Korean pancakes! I am not sure where the other bad reviews on this site came from. Perhaps the reviewers went to Nara right after they moved?? I notice some people complained about the service. It is true that the help doesnt hover over you, but our food was timely even though the restaurant was crowded.

The restaurant has a very strange smell to it. The decor was depressing. There were 4 other people, all at the same table and it took someone almost 5 minutes to greet us. Waitress gave us menus and just walked away, didnt ask about drinks. The water tasted like chlorine. Miso soup was okay but its pretty hard to mess that up. The philly roll was a bit warm and the tamago was horrible. The waitress checked on us once the whole time. Definitely wont be coming back.

I got delivery and the hibachi grill we ordered was cold along with the softshell crab. The Unagi was 2 small strips of eel on top of the most crumbly sushi rice have ever seen for 6.50. not to mention that they fotgot the clear soup and shrimp app that comes with it. The softshell crab roll I ordered was also a joke. So for 72 bucks I am feeling a bit ripped off.

The food was amazing! My only complaint is that the hibachi didnt have any tricks. Im from Massachusetts and Im on vacation and back home they interact with the customers, tossing zucchini, and so on and it seems to strict here. It would be a 5 star if they could have more fun here!

With a wide variety of great sushi places in and around Portland, its hard to pick a favorite. Nara wins in a few categories, definably the best food, and the best staff. Want a more romantic setting? Try Sapparo or Yusaku, want the best sushi around, Stick with Nara!

I love this place. The sushi is just as good as anywhere else in the area (I say this having been to Miyake as well) and they bring you a handful of small dishes of various foods before anything else. Its a nice touch. Ive never been disappointed.

Sushi was fresh and delicious, miso was savory with just a hint of spice, and the price was right! The service was excellent and exceeded expectations. Lots of unique touches in decor and outside, but definitely low key. Id gladly eat here again!

The best sushi in Maine. Ive eaten sushi all over Maine and this is the best (of course my opinion). Mr Lee and Kelly are amazing people and I love their creativeness and you always get smiles and welcomed. Love this place!
