Now that Im living in Harpswell, its a great adventure to get out into nearby Brunswick and sample all the local places. One of the first culinary adventures on our tour: Little Tokyo on Maine Street. The restaurant itself is adorable, and I admired the photographs for sale on the walls and the cute paper lanterns. We were fortunate to sit right next to the window, looking out over the hustle and bustle of the downtown. For appetizers, my husband and I tried a delicious sashimi platter and a cucumber horn filled with tuna, avocado and a tangy orange sauce. We were leery of sushi and sashimi before our visit; Little Tokyo, however, soothed our fears with the freshest pieces of fish weve ever tasted. They were scrumptious and smooth, perfectly paired with the sting of wasabi and the saltiness of soy sauce. For entrees, my husband tried a fabulous roll with eel and shrimp, while I opted for the teriyaki scallops. Both were amazing. Service was excellent, and we would definitely consider takeout or inviting friends there for dinner out! PS: And dont be afraid to ask for a fork: the use of chopsticks is great when wrangling sushi and sashimi, but its a bit tricky with rice. Our server was more than happy to oblige with a kind smile!

Although Im not a sushi/maki roll fan, in general, I am when its from Little Tokyo! Since they opened, this is where my husband and I go for our more "fancy" date nights. With 3 young children, we cant often get away with spending $65-$70 on dinner for two, but once in awhile, we treat ourselves to the BEST Japanese cuisine in the state (maybe even in all of New England). I do wish the food was more affordable and, therefore a more realistic dining option for middle class diners, but even so, the food is so amazing that its hard to feel anything less than 100% satisfied at the end of your Little Tokyo experience. Lastly, if you decide to visit Little Tokyo, I HIGHLY recommend trying the Spicy Seafood Salad appetizer and the Spider maki roll for the main dish. Trust me... you wont be disappointed!!!

They have real hibachi chicken, others come from a griddle, but little Tokyo steak and chicken had a smoky grill flavor that is delicious. The vegetable tempura was a large crispy basket of great veggies (except one extra crispy broccoli). The sushi was very well done, tasted fresh, nothing "fishy". Their salad dressing looked like ranch and I was sad, I tried it and was pleasantly surprised that it wasnt ranch but a light tasting version of yum-yum sauce - WOW! The best part was that my picky children loved everything they ate. They even provided hashi helpers for the 4yo.

Really good! I just moved here. I was leaving the cleaners I saw their sign,"Sushi"so I crossed Main, got in had a seat at sushi bar,the owner she greeted me and I felt honored that she made sure to enjoy the experience. I started with My fav California roll-good start,Maine salad-not good too much dressing, then Nigri platter-very good, did not like dressing for comp salad and Miso soup needs work. overall the server with blonde hair took good care of me even though the assigned server lacked experience. I loved it. Great Place!I plan on taking family there once they arrive.

Normally this is a pretty good place for Sushi. But on 6 Feb 2016, we went there for lunch and the service was so bad we decided to leave. After finally seating ourselves, we sat there waiting to be acknowledged for about 20min. Finally, we got up and left. The bar tender behaved like it was his job to do nothing (drinks?) The two servers were too disorganized to get much accomplished even though the restaurant was half empty. The people sitting next to us seemed irritated as well. Looked like they had been waiting for a long time for service. Very disappointing.

Worst customer service ever! Just went in for dinner and there were many open tables and it was very clear they didnt want to sit us as a couple at table for four. A family of four came in after us and they were seated immediately without a reservation. No worries for us as we walked a half a block away and are now enjoying Sushi at another restaurant and we wont be back. A free tip for you... if you have open tables, seat people.

Great food, great service, its a go to for Japanese cuisine. Recently went here for a cousins birthday, got a yacht, and a few other things. We all had a very good time, I would bring anybody who visits me here, there. Bubble Tea is great for all ages, and could be good to warm up young ones to different food.

Best sushi in Brunswick. I would say its cheap for the amount of fish they use in each roll. Much more than the restaurants in Portland. Friday/Saturday nights during the academic year would require a reservation. Great service and nice staff.

Little Tokyos atmosphere is superb. It has: smaller table sizes, good table spacing, warm lighting, the right amount of cultural flair. The food is well priced and combos are paired appropriately.

Pretty good sushi. Im not really from the area - so I cant compare it to other offerings, but I found it a relatively good option. Service was friendly and quick, I had a great time.

As a sushi lover, I couldnt be happier that such a place has landed in Brunswick. The atmosphere is great and the food is even better. One of my new favorites!

Some of the menu items are mislabeled, so be careful if youre vegan, but otherwise its delicious food and a great selection. Always a fun place to go.

Great sushi for Brunswick! Still lacks some of the flair of more urban sushi joints. Im sure the atmosphere will improve with time.

I think the best sushi you can get in Maine, but you do get what you pay for as it is very pricy and the bill can add up fast.

Favorite Sushi place in town. I always try to go during off times. During lunch and dinner place gets noisy as it is all open.

The food is pretty standard. Nothing extraordinary. The staff can be a little rude, but it is still a decent place to eat.

A little of the expensive side for decent Japanese food. They give you these heated damp towels which are pretty weird.

As good as it gets and I have eaten in similar places in New York, Chicago, St. Lewis, San Francisco, LA and more.

Drinks are the best part, and the food is unreal. Try the dragon tempura roll.

The lunch special seems like a good deal to me: 3 rolls, soup, salad for $12.

Had the sushi boat, which I found so-so. Service was somewhat slow, too.
