When we called that morning for reservations they were able to put us on a list for that night (no reservations), which was unfortunate because we had a birthday party with 20 people expected. An hour prior to arrival we called to confirm we were on the list and reminded them the number of people in our party, they confirmed we were on a list to be seated... We arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule only to realize they were just now putting us on a list and it could take a half an hour to be seated. This wasnt so much a problem because a wait anywhere else at this point for a party this size would be just as long. Forty-five minutes into our wait our dinner party started to dwindle (people were leaving!!!) I went inside to see how much longer it would be and to update our number of people. The wait from this point was going to be an additional half an hour!!!! Well, we have waited this long so whats another half an hour... Ten people less and another forty-five minutes later we were finally seated! The wait staff was polite and apologetic, but that couldnt make up for the long wait. The food wasnt bad and drinks were okay. Even after asking for any sort of compensation for the long wait we were only rewarded with a free birthday "surprise". Dont most places give you a free birthday surprise and NOT make you wait?! Judging by all of the people that got in before, and left before, our being seated I would say DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN 5 PEOPLE WITH YOU!!!!

We walked in and seated ourselves at the bar. There were two male bartenders-it took them 10 minutes just to greet us and when they finally acknowledged us he said "what can we help you with tonight". I guess it was foolish to assume we were probably there for food/drinks? We ate and dinner and margaritas were decent. The younger bartender was flirting with two girls sitting on the end of the bar. One said to the other they should get appitizers to which the bartender responded "dont eat here the food is disgusting." The girl said she wished she got that on video, the bartender looked at her and again repeated his statement. When he came over to get our food I told him I guess we shouldnt have ate so much since the food is disgusting. He replied "oh yeah the food here is gross, just kidding" I said well that is what you just told her. He said "we have fruit flies behind the bar which I think is gross" took our plates and walked away. I was so angry I did not want to leave a tip and wanted to speak with the manager. Thankfully for the staff, my boyfriend talked me out of both. We work for a very large company and we will be sure to share our experience everyone we know.

We decided to try margaritas again after boycotting for 8 months. It was a mistake! $8.63 for well vodkas (they use absolute, should be using a cheap brand for the well) before taxes. The meal was excellent, the server was fantastic. We were a party of 7 that used to come in every Sunday and had been coming in for over 25 years. We will never be back. This is after several emails were sent to their corporate headquarters. (Requesting using a less expensive brand of vodka etc. for their well drinks) The response from HQ was basically a smoke screen, saying something to the effect that they want to better serve the consumer, whatever! At $8.63 for well vodka before taxes is sticking it in the consumers behind not better serving them. Pfft

First off, service was the only good thing about this... shout out to Bear! Really dissaspointed. The food was okay and very different from last time...we ordered the same as always and all ended up with a weird version of our meals. The price was terrible for the quality of the margarita it was pure water and my drink had coconut in it and I didnt order a drink with coconut and I have an allergy to it. Just cant say anything but wow wish I could go back in time and save my money. Worst $100 I have EVER spent.

Growing up in Maine and I never have been to this Margaritas. Well I wasnt missing anything. Though the service was good the food was not, and the margarita was very water downed. For the prices of these items there should be some quality. Never will I go there again, it can stay a tourist attraction.

Great place, good food, Dos Equis on tap (perfect) and they have a wonderful bartender named Ashley, possibly the hardest working and sweetest person in the service industry in Portland - we hadnt been in in months and she still remembered what we liked to drink. Highly recommended!

Good enough for Mexican in Maine except for the fried fish tacos... which in a city located on the Atlantic is strange and lazy. For god sake, bake some haddock and serve a decent fish taco! For $25 in haddock from the dock you could serve 100 awesome tacos.

Margaritas has evolved a lot over the years. Their specials (Marg Mondays) are renowned but the location theyre in can be forgettable and their food is often just okay." Worth a visit but may not become your favorite.

Ive been coming to Margaritas for years now. The Enchilada Ranchera is my favorite dish. The portions are a good size and the free tortilla chips are a great bonus. Service has always been fast and friendly.

Service was terrible. Our waitress forgot to put our order in, and she was very inappropriate to my fiance and his brother. If I ever go back there I will request not to get this waitress.

Sunday at 1PM there was absolutely no wait for a table at all. They served us fresh, hot chips with salsa right away. Our server was friendly and helpful.
