Will never go back here again. We went for the buffet and were very disappointed. Food was bland and a lot of it had been sitting out for a long time so it was cold. The service was worst of all though. The only time someone came over was at the beginning of the meal to give us water (she was very cold and unfriendly). We never got refills and we ended sitting with dirty dishes the whole meal and to top it off my water had a piece of hair in it. So gross. Unless you have the urge to waste money on subpar food I suggest you find somewhere else to eat.

I have been eating here for over 20 years since they were down on one of the side streets. The bad reviews here are simply not accurate. The egg drop soup is the best I have ever had. There are always vegetarian options. I have eaten here alone and never had an issue with service, but I have brought a group of eight or so before and that was no problem either. We plan our trips to southern Maine and beyond so that they include a stop here.

I would not even give it a star, but there is no option for that. The food was below mediocre and service was... poor and unfriendly. We did not experience the buffet, so I can not speak upon that, however, we did order from the menu. Thought the food would be spectacular because of the high price, unfortunately, the quality and taste of food was that of some cheap fast food Chinese restaurant. Never again will I visit nor my friends.

After hearing glowing reviews, we decided to try this restaurant. We were totally disgusted. The chicken was really poor quality and very greasy. We couldnt finish the food and both wound up with nasty belly aches afterward. I dont know if it was a really off night for their kitchen, or what, but we wont be back! Just thinking about the place makes my stomach turn over.

My wife and I havent been to Freeport in a good while, but I can tell you this. We love Chinese food and China Rose is one of the best Chinese Restaurants anywhere. Freeport is downright lucky to have such a place. Excellent service, food and decor.

In the heart of Freeport, this is a little great restaurant for a FULL menu of Chinese food, and Miyako Sushi is upstairs, all in one convient location. good price, much better then the American around Freeport.

Just had the Szechuan Chicken and was quite disappointed. There was such little chicken and mostly celery and carrots. The taste was terrible. What a waste of money and time!
