As anyone who has actually eaten at the coffee pot on Broadway in Bangor knows, this is the best sandwich you can get in the greater Bangor area hands down. Fresh, consistent and delicious. Be prepared for that overwhelming onion smell, but hey, that is what having a coffee pot is all about. Make a point to try a real coffee pot and you will not be disappointed. And I love the lady who works behind the counter. She is all business, serious about operational organization and getting you and out with the best sandwich possible. She is the face of that place and I love seeing her every time I go in for a sandwich.

Okay, I just had my first and last Coffee Pot sandwich in Lincoln. It tasted remarkably like over-salted cardboard. It came with half a sub roll with the cheese draped over the outside of it and some pathetic tomatoes inside the bread. They dont do mayo, so it had some oil that made the bread soggy, yet still remarkably dry (figure that one out) and they dont do lettuce. All in all, a huge waste of time, money and tastebuds. Never again. I took one bite and threw the rest in the trash.

The Coffee Pot is a revival of a classic place with decades of history in Bangor, serving up a unique style of sandwiches that I havent seen replicated in any other place. Having lived away from Bangor for nearly two decades, finding the Coffee Pot reopened under new staff and management was a highlight of my recent trip home. Great sandwiches, decent prices, and the kind of unique food experience that any city would be proud to call its own.

I have been getting " The coffee pot sandwich" since I was just a young boy, Im 60 now, and I can say it is still a real treat for me today to stop by and get a couple of those sandwiches for me, and my wife. The sandwiches are always fresh, and flavorful, and the service is great! Ill definitely be back, again and again!
