Very disappointing. Very poor service, cheap food, crappy attitudes, and overall angry atmosphere presented by the staff AND owner, Tommy Settle, this weekend. My first, and last, experience had such high hopes based on things I had heard in the past. Just a huge let down. We had reservations for a large dinner party that was planned months in advance, a 90+ group we brought. Not a single person in our entire party left pleased that we had been here. Pre-dinner rolls, which were served sparingly, were also served cold which made the butter they were served with pointless since it wouldn’t melt. The chicken was mediocre, I’m sure we’ve all done better in our own kitchen, if you’ve baked chicken nuggets you’ve done better. It too, was served sparingly. After waiting for our order for well over an hour, we were each served a plate with 2 pieces of not very warm chicken. Mind you these were all you could eat chicken dinner orders! 30 minutes after we received our 2 pieces of chicken, we were served the 8 side dishes promised with the meal. These too were not very warm. An additional 20 minutes on top of this, and we received the dipping sauces we had asked for when ordering. Of course, there was no chicken left to use it with at this point, but it’s the thought that counts I guess. We arrived at 5:45pm, by 8:00 we were fed up and requesting our bills. At 8:15, the waitress comes out to take our order again, because they weren’t sure what to charge us! Still waiting, and now it’s after 9:00pm….still no bill. By this time, we couldn’t take it anymore. We demanded to speak to the manager, we got her (nice lady) and the owner (not a nice bone in his body). After explaining the situation to the owner, he insisted it was our fault things were like this! I told the man (for the sake of keeping it PG), if he couldn’t accommodate us all, he would have looked a lot better turning us away then having this situation on his hand. He looked at me and asked me “What kind of f’-ing business do you run.” as he walked away. I told him as he waddled off, “You obviously don’t really want the answer, but I work at a company that actually cares about its f’-ing customers!” That hurt his pride apparently, because then he yelled, “You can’t cuss me out like that, I’m calling the Sherriff.” To which I replied, “Please do, I’m sure he’ll love to hear what the 94 of us have to say once you tell him what you think! We just want to pay our bills, and get the F out of this place! You’re holding us hostage with threats of calling the law about a bill you won’t let us pay!” Disappointed is a bad word.....angry, apalled, disgusted, and outraged are better descriptors. Let me tell Mr. Tommy Settle something, my "business" he asked about, is a very successful one which used to bring him steady cash annually before this episode. Now we will never take another business lunch or dinner party there, nor will his catering services ever be acquired. Not only by my "business" but every other business associated with the rest of these 90+ people, and there friends, and their friends, etc. With the social media networking, I really hope this review pays off and stings this poor excuse for a restaurant. None of us left with a good taste in our mouth, in more ways than one. Tommy Settle (owner) should be ashamed for simply coat-tailing on the name of a legend while being such a poor excuse for what he claims to be representing. Canned green beans, instant mashed potatoes, cold dinner rolls, and watered down salad dressing…..if this is your idea of country cooking, then this is the place for you. Simply speaking, this has become just another stop for a tour bus and is nothing like what I hear made it famous to begin with. Don’t waste your time or money, trust the locals!

I experienced my first and ONLY ever visit to this place today. After ignoring the reviews of several friends and family, I called a week ago to see about holding a princess tea birthday party for my three year old and a few of her little princess friends. I was met with an astoundingly friendly person on the phone Jennifer who was a delight to work with. I told her that seeing as the girls would all be under 6 I wouldnt need much food, and only two tables, not a whole room. We agreed on having punch and a fruit tray served and I would provide cupcakes and mini sandwiches, as well as bringing the plates, napkins, cups, etc for their party. I was told I wouldnt need to rent a room since there would be so few of us and that we would just get two tables upstairs. I was to pay $5 a person for the punch and fruit. Thats it. Today when I arrived for the party there were very few people there as we scheduled it for 4:00, after Sunday lunch and before dinner. We were put in the very front room of the place. Even though I had arranged the party details before hand, it seemed as if they expected everyone to order their buffet or from the menu. When I reminded them we wouldnt be ordering they did not seem happy. The fruit was great, as was the punch and the party went great until we got our bill. We were not only charged a $25 room rental fee, but an 18% gratuity for what they say is all parties over 8. Under normal circumstances I would not argue with that, but for this occasion, over half of the guests in the party were under the age of four and were served by ME. Our lovely waitress served a total of four hot teas, none of which got refills. Not only did I totally set up and clean up for the party, there was no food served to need a large party gratuity. When I asked about the room fee and gratuity I was slapped with a nasty "thats our policy" comment. The lady I spoke with to make the arrangements is apparently very ill in the hospital so of course theres no one to confirm the arrangements I made a week ago. In short, I wouldnt have made this my choice for our gathering had I known I would spend $125 on an hour of punch and fruit for four year olds. After the way I was spoken to about the matter I will never step foot back in there again. To make it better when my mom did order to go, half of her order was not there so I got the pleasure of going back to pick it up.

My wife and I have eaten at Claudia Sanders several times. The food is OK, not mamas cooking. My wife and I generally know what we want to eat before we get to a restaurant. Tonight was no different. She orders her usual and I order mine. We ordered and received our food as usual. Since both of us had gastric bypasses we do not eat a lot. What we order is good for a couple more meals. We ask a waitress for to-go boxes and the problems began. The waitress gave us a look over like a store detective would give a shop lifter. We ask for small bowls for the sides we didnt eat. The waiters went behind the kitchen doors and for 5 minuets looked and pointed at us with other waitresses. Apparently she believed we had eaten off the buffet line because of the food left over. Not once did she ever ask us about our left overs. After several minuets she walked by and again I ask for small bowls. She replies"Im not giving you any bowels" and proceeded to again stand behind the kitchen doors and pointed at us. Nothing beats a nice dinner with your wife and being called a thief. After SEVERAL attempts to see a manager, one appeared. I explained that it was nobodies business, but we had gastric bypasses. At this point we where so humiliated that we were a little peeved. The managed offered to take care of our bill. We declined because that was not our intention. Our character and integrity was challenged by a waitress. All the waitress had to do was ask us what we ordered. We will NEVER be back. The food is not good enough to be treated like a criminal.
