Whenever I am in Louisville for work, I always make it a point to stop by Scottys BBQ. I have been here about two dozen times, and about eighteen of those visits have been to order the Scottyburger platter with beans. I have never had a smoked burger, nor heard about one, before eating at Scottys and I tell you what, it is incredible! Such a simple concept, smoke a beef patty before serving it as a burger. Add a little kiss of the BBQ sauce and it just takes it to a whole new level. I have been to other restaurants and tried to compare what I had at Scottys, but no burger comes close to the flavor of the Scottyburger. I have also tried the fried chicken, the brisket, and the pork burger, and it was all fantastic, but but my boss and I always go back to that smoked burger. The chicken was extremely good and juicy, I have never had a poor experience in the multiple times I have been there. If you prefer to try the brisket, you must call in to see if they have it as it seems to be a random occurrence when he is able to get some. Definitely a hole in the wall but I am so glad I found this little gem.

Aside from the regulars at the bar there was no one else in the restaurant on a Saturday evening. I had party of 10. It took 15 min for the server to get us menus. Then it went downhill. She took another 10 min to even come back to check on us...her only table aside from the regulars at the bar that had her attention. I had reviews called up on my phone and saw the many complaints as to poor service. When she finally returned I asked if this was going to take a long time to get the food out. She was nasty and said she had no way to know. She then said they were out of hamburger. Seriously? How do they stay in business. I said that rather than walking out after placing a 10 person food order we would just end it. We left. She smarted off to us and opened the side door for us to leave. I suppose so we didnt bother the regulars at the bar. They are a mess. Dont waste your time unless you have a lot of time.

Came in yesterday for the first time. BBQ was good but not excellent. Fried corn hard as a rock. But what got me most was the service. We had a very rude server. I asked if they had Splenda before I ordered my tea. She brought me 3 Sweet in Low. When I explained I only used Splenda, she very rudely said "Well, how should I know? I dont drink tea" Then I was going to ask a question and before I could get it out, she told me where the bathrm was. That had nothing to do with my question, and had she not interrupted she would have known that. She was all around short with us, no smile, no friendliness....will never go back.

My wife and I were traveling through, and were going to be in the louisville area for dinner. We researched over 30 barbecue joints in the local area... what drew us to Scottys (aka Big Bubbas) was the website making note of having sold over 20,000 racks of ribs!!!! Quoting Liz Lemon, we thought "I have to go to there!"... and our experience was nothing short of amazing. for the foodies out there, Scotty has put in almost three decades of experience into creating homemade dishes that speak to your taste buds. its a little hard to find, but be persistent! Scottys is worth the adventure.

Food is decent from a past visit. Service lacks much and carryout took forever. Called at 7:02 on Saturday night typing this at 8:08 still no food. There were three people here when I got here cant blame it on being busy. Just refunded half my money at 8:17 still no food. Got food at 8:23 but was missing chicken wings and kids meal I didnt want to wait any longer. To sum up 1:21 minutes for four half price appetizers minus wings and kidsmeal. We will not be returning.

I was disappointed. Their menu says homemade sausage so i ordered the sausage sub with onions and the peppers. The sausage had very little flavor and was the crumbled type. The peppers were just 2 on the side not actually on the sandwich and the onion was very small pieces and did not really add to the sandwich. The cajun fries were soggy and not a lot of flavor. It could be what i ordered isnt one of their specialties.

Just moved out to this area and decided to give this place a shot. Its a hole in the wall, and isnt much to look at.....just like all the best BBQ places seem to be. I honestly think this might be the best BBQ in the city. The chicken is fantastic, the pork is incredible, and the sauce was unbelievable. We will be getting take-out from here on a regular basis. Highly recommended.

Found this place by doing a search on my phone for good bbq. The excellent reviews were right on the mark. This place is a little hidden treasure for bbg. Kind of like a little bar type of place with tvs. We had our daughter with us and we all loved it. This meal is the only one I can ever remember when we all cleaned our plates. Not a bite left. Well be back:)

We were up on vacation and wanted bbq. After not wanting to go to a chain restaurant, I found this gem. Best fried chicken in Kentucky! Brisket was amazing. Owner and staff were super friendly. Dont be scared that one of the reviewers below called it a hole in the wall. Its just a mom and pop place with nice people. Super cold beer too.

Its been a long time since I had been to Scottys. Being from Louisiana I like food with a lot of flavor. I had the Bubbas pork burger . Wow .Awesome!!! The service was also great and good timing. For sure one of my favorite places to go and gear down from a hard days work and eat in louisville.

Menu gave one price, once you went to pay the price was alot more. Was told that the menu I was given was old and out dated. Scotty burger was nothing special, Cajun fries were not good, service was poor. This cost $15, wouldnt recommend it. Stay away from this place!

Great place. First time there while we were in town for the farm show. Food was great and Scott was an excellent host. We met some very nice people and enjoyed good conversation. Only problem was we all ate too much. we will be back next year.

Worst bbq place Ive been to. We had to wait a hour just to get our chicken and pork and the people b4 us waited 10 minutes after we did. The pork was dry bc it was sitting out for 25 mins. Just being honest . Wont b back there again.
