I found this restaurant on my GPS listed under BBQ. I am not familiar with Louisville so I had no idea where it was or any details besides the address. I called ahead and ordered 3 pulled pork sandwiches plus 3 sides of baked beans and cole slaw. It was definitely authentic-they didnt have anything else on the menu besides BBQ. The place is basically a converted house in a neighborhood. It is pretty run down and has very little seating. I think it is pretty pricey for such a dive. The cole slaw and baked beans were $1.50 each (no family size) and was literally a tiny 1/4 cup portion. The bill came to $30 (w/out drinks). The pulled pork was pretty good except so juicy, the bun basically turned back into dough (make sure you have a lot of napkins). It also was kind of fatty and didnt have very much BBQ sauce. The coleslaw was fresh & homemade with a strong vinegar flavor and the baked beans were delicious, a little spicy a little sweet. Bottom Line: I probably wouldnt go here again. Too expensive for such a basic meal, for such small portions and few choices.

Historic site use to eat there with my mom in the seventies so no matter how you feel about pricing if your from Louisville west end or limbrick or park hill orumsby communities in from the 60s up to 2016 this bussiness has been around and we love it and support it.

Its been around since 1943. Its been through 4 generations. The recipe is still the same. If youre from Louisville, its one of the places to go to. The ribs are to die for.
