I went to Hopcat for the 5 dollar week thing we have going on in Louisville today, and they were busy, very much so. I would soon find out why. I was still seated instantly, my server came over virtually instantly, asked what I wanted to drink, and within another 2 minutes was back with my drink and asking if I knew my order. I ordered the Bar Zee, and had my burger within 8 or 9 minutes tops. And again, these dudes were busy. Ive lived in California Texas, and visited everywhere and tried burgers wherever I can get them. This is one of the 5 best burgers I ever ate. The bun seemed to be ever so lightly toasted so it had the slightest crunch which worked very well with the overflowing bacon, on the burger. The burger was cooked perfectly medium well as I requested, and they put the jalapeños on the side (also my request). The stat was the bar sauce though. A mix of a few cheeses house blend, and put in a mix of Horseraddish and mayo. (Neither overpowering). I dont like horse radish, and I still loved it. A superb cheese sauce for this burger. Eric was attentative to my requests, and friendly. And I had my burger for about 2 minutes before Austin a manager came up to me, and asked if everything was great. I could tell he really cared, and yes, it absolutely was. He was friendly smiling and jovial. Fun guy to talk to for a few minutes. I cant recommend this place enough. I was told from like 3-6 Sun-Thurs they have Burger happy hour, where most burgers and fries are 5 and some change. I really want to try the rest of their selection. And Im not a beer drinker myself, but at the bar they did have a nice selection of craft brews for those who do want to compliment their meal. Thx so much to Hopcat for their food, and the Kentucky Beef for setting up burger week. It was awesome.

Ive been to a couple HopCats now and I am excited that one has now opened in Louisville. Its a huge building with two floors and a second floor patio that hadnt been opened yet. The downstairs bar is large and the there is a lot of seating---there are also large sliding windows on one wall to allow fresh air in during the nicer months. The second floor (apart from the patio) is very open with a lot of temporary tables and a smaller bar---clearly the area that wold be used for larger events. They had only been open about two weeks when I went---so clearly they are working out some kinks---that said, the service was a bit slow. The bartender downstairs looked and sounded like he was panicking. The server upstairs, while friendly, was rather slow to wait on us. The parking in the area is a real struggle; however, they had been offering a $5 valet for their lot. I look forward to many more visits here---if anything, for the crack fries and good beer.

A friend of mine recommended Hopcats tonight so my bestie and I checked it out for the first time. From the time we sit at our table and our waitress Alicia introduced herself I knew it was going to be a good night! Alicia was Awesome, I explained to her we never been there before and she went over the whole menu with us and I asked her what she recommended in food and took her suggestion as well! The whole experience from the food, drinks and service was phenomenal! I asked to talk to the mgr at the end to tell him about our wonderful experience and he too was GREAT! I just want to take the time out to say thank you and you all are great at Hopcats! We definitely will be back!!

My girlfriend and I walked in to a mostly empty restaurant around 5:20 pm on a Saturday, and along with several other small (4 or less people) groups were told there would be a 5-10 minute wait. We waited there for about 20 minutes while the hosting staff talked to each other about nothing before someone, not the snarky hostess, seated us. Our server took another almost 15 minutes to come to our table. Again, she had maybe three tables. Service was terrible. Terrible. Terrible. While the food was good, and they did have a nice beer selection, it was not worth the wait. Will not be back, and will not recommend.

I like to go in when Matt is behind the bar, the guy knows his beer and always hits the nail on the head. tonight I went in for a beer after work and a woman with blue/green hair got my to go order quickly(speedy Gonzales fast, even though she had a full bar) then she talked beer for a minute before recommending an excellent brew! (Didnt catch her name.) 10 out of 10. Almost every time I go here. If you dont have a great experience here, its probably your own fault. I even made friends with one of the waitresses, Nicole, knows her beer and her bourbon. Apparently everyone here is an expert!

Love this place! The manager (Austin) was incredibly helpful in making recommendations to end our indecisiveness and his knowledge of the foods/beers offered was nothing short of amazing! We will definitely be adding Hopcat to our short-list of favorite spots to take clients out for lunch or grab drinks in the evening. Make sure you try the grilled cheese (add bacon) with the tomato soup and crack fries - its so good! Also, we didnt even realize there was such an awesome outdoor patio space upstairs before today .. definitely worth checking out! Well be back!

Well, I was just in there, wanted to give it a try (party of 1, btw).. the hostess told me that there wasnt a wait & That theyll seat me right away.. went to the bar, sat at the side bar like the young lady told me, when I was told by the waitress, saying that I would have to wait... I was like, " wait a minute.. I thought I was going to seated at the bar area.." I said ok, got up & left.. Bottom line, I guess if youre 20-something lady I would get better treatment, than for someone like me (42 yr old lady).. This place can kick rocks.. I WILL NOT BE BACK!!!

Visited HopCat Louisville with work friends during Burger Week. Service was good and kept our ice teas full (it was during business lunch). As expected, we had to wait for our food longer than expected (25 minutes) which is understandable due to the promise of a $5 Bar Zee burger. We couldnt customize due to Burger Week so our burgers came cooked Medium to well done. I would have preferred medium but the Bar Zee is a good burger (bacon, bar cheese, and jalapeno. All of my coworkers enjoyed the burger as well. I recommend HopCat for a nice lunch.

The food and drinks were great! One of the best hamburgers Ive had in Louisville. ( The Cowboy) A group of 5 sat outside on the patio and it was wonderful. The only reason why Im not giving it more stars is the service was horrible! The manager had to comp our drinks b/c they took over 30 mins to get from the bar to our table. And then comp some meals because they werent all delivered at the same time. 45 mins after the first were delivered! By the time the last plate came out, the first plate was cold. In short: Atmosphere = 5*
