Absolutely HATED our experience at this village inn. The line was outrageous and when we asked the hostess how long the wait would be she said 5 minutes. More like 15 was what we waited for to be seated. We sat down at the table maybe around 11:30 or so. Waited TWENTY minutes for our waitress to show up so we could order our drinks. I had to ask another waitress where ours was so we could just order our food and drinks at the same time to avoid more waiting because other tables had been seated after us and received their food and drinks before us. There were only 2 cooks in the kitchen so I understood why it was a little slow but you would think that the manager on duty would do anything in her power to wrangle more employees to come in. After we ordered it took AN HOUR AND A HALF for our food to reach our table AFTER I went to the kitchen to see where our food was. Our waitress did apologize once for the delay but we had to ask for her to refill our drinks when our food came COLD. So hungry after waiting 2 hours after arriving, we ate our cold food and went to check out at the desk so we could get out of there. The lady that rung us out asked us how everything was and after we relayed all that had happened all she seemed was appropriate to say was "Ok Sorry" and that was it. No "Im sorry, what can I do to make this right for you?" Or "Let me grab the manager and we can work something out for you because you were unsatisfied." NOPE. She was just in a hurry to get us out of there. I DO NOT recommend this establishment to anyone who wants to enjoy a hot meal served in a timely manner. If I could give LESS THAN ONE STAR, I would. Absolutely terrible service. And by reading the other reviews now, I see many others feel the same as I.

Went to Sunday Brunch with a group of friends, and can say this is the worst Village Inn experience Ive ever had. We called ahead to see how long the wait would be, and they said 5 minutes. Showed up and it was changed to 10 minutes, but it was well over 20 minutes before we got to our table. Our waiter seemed swamped, had too many tables, but was very friendly when he could squeeze in time to check on us which wasnt often. We ordered, and it took OVER AN HOUR for our food to show up. We were joking that maybe we should have ordered lunch instead of breakfast if we would have known it was going to be that long of a wait. By the time the food reached our table, most of it was cold. We actually had our waiter reheat one of our soups, and another friend found a hair in their far from fresh fruit. For a Sunday Brunch, I would think a restaurant know for their breakfast food would be fully staffed and every table would be filled. This was far from the case, and the line was out the door waiting for an experience that I dont think they had imagined when they decided to dine out. If it wasnt for the great company I was with, I would have up and left along with the others that had less patience. If corporate is reading this review, I would strongly recommend looking into the problems that this establishment is facing, as I would given this zero stars if I could.

We were sat by a table filled with dirty dishes. Ordered our food right away. They kept cleaning tables and piling more dirty dishes on the table beside us. After waiting an HOUR for grilled chicken breast and a side of broccoli, I requested to speak with a manager. The GENERAL MANAGER got snarky with me, never once apologizing and when I said I wouldnt pay for the meal after that experience all he said is "Ill take care of it" and stormed off. The server wasnt any better and his remarks were "we get busy on holidays" when I pointed out he sat people AFTER we ordered yet brought them their food while we still waited for ours, he had no good excuse.

My Family and I waited over 45 minutes to get our food. Once we got our food it was disgusting! My daughters chicken strips were just bread crumbs! There was a big piece of plastic on my food. The country potatoes were not cooked all the way. We didnt get our French Toast because there was no Batter. Manager came out to say she didnt have staff. Several people Walked out. I will never go back.

Im working from out of town and I may never have had a better experience. I got pork chops and eggs it came with three buttermilk pancakes and i got fruit instead of hashbrowns, all for 8.99, at a Waffle House you can get the chop and eggs with hash for 7.99 i believe but they dont have Waffle Houses in Iowa and now I see why. You dont have to take my word for it go see for yourselves.

Worst experience at a restaurant Ive ever had. Order a burger and it was all pink inside. Told the waiter and instead of giving me a new one he just took my old burger and threw it on the grill with my ketchup and ranch still dripping from it and when I got it it was to burnt to eat. So I left the food how it was and didnt even get asked about anything. Worst place ever

It wasnt very busy, but the wait was long. The bacon is equivalent to that on an old McDonalds burger. One side of the hash browns is plastic and the other is not cooked. Why did I give this place a second chance, oh ya cause its never busy. This being said at least my wife always had ice tea.... Just kidding it was never full.

Went on a Friday for dinner. The place was not very busy but there appeared to be only two waiters on staff. Our waiter was nice and all but after waiting an hour (with two children) for our food to show up we decided we could wait no longer.

I love eating here. The staff are always cheery and smiling. If you are on a budget, order the VIB. Its an amazing deal for about as much as a meal at McDonalds ($7.99) but much better food. And free slice of pie on Wednesdays!

Great place to eat if like roaches crawling all over your food and mold everywhere. They cant even get rid of them cause the place is dilapidated. Cooks dont even use soap to clean kitchen. I promise its not a lie.

Food and service is usually pretty good - however this last weekend when we were there it was after a snow storm and the parking lot was an ice rink. For every ones safety, take a little more care of it.

Im sorry, if someone orders over easy eggs and both are popped while cooking, make some new ones, also if the pancakes are over done, make new ones, dont serve them. I blame both the waitress and cook.

Host service not great, seemed stressed out and somewhat rude. Server service excellent and very pleasant. Ambiance/devoted & overall cleanliness in the restaurant needs an overhaul and face lift.

Service was slow, floor was messy. The waitress serving my table was very unenthusiastic. Despite the face lift and renovation the atmosphere of this restaurant is rather gloomy.
